If xp gets 1 shot, oops time to move on then.

I am a xp/bp player. See my profile if u think i am lying :(

Nothing has changed about Hornet. M3 still has no protection and M2 has 20%.

So after ruining the non-format battles by giving an incredible advantage to buyers, you ruin the only fair XP/BP and LF formats. Well done. Why can't I remember this being mentioned in the VLOG? Oh, maybe because if Tanki told us all the details before the update, people would have hated it so much they may have had to cancel it? Oh, I forgot they don't care about our opinion anyway.

OK guys, how about you comment on this. Here's my personal list of what's good and bad about today's update:

Pros:

  1. Allows you to use any paint in any battle
  2. Removes the need to memorise a bunch of protections
  3. Makes previously useless paints usable again
  4. Simple display mechanism for enemy tank details (just takes getting used to)
  5. Finally able to see other players' MUs
  6. Instantly possible to see all players with protection from your turret as soon as you enter a battle (instead of having to visually check their paints individually)
  7. Chat mods' icons visible in Tab list
  8. Adds more "exclusive" content to the game for players, who want to look good and show off
  9. Removes OP factor of Premium paint's 15% protection on low ranks (something hundreds of players complained about when premium was added)
  10. Apparently now you automatically get 0/10/20% Railgun protection when you enter a format battle, regardless of what module you have equipped and whether or not you have the module at all!

Cons:

  1. Kits are too expensive because of useless paints - will be fixed when the next set of kits gets released
  2. Too hard to see information from R key when too many tanks are in one spot.
  3. Hard for snipers to know what protection distant enemies have - might be improved in future.
  4. Paints too expensive - nobody is forcing you to buy them and they don't give any advantage in battle
  5. Lags - this is caused by players constantly switching between battles, lobby and garage to test the update. It will most likely subside as players gradually calm down.

Discuss.

"Pros":

1. Okay, now I can look sexy with wasp.

2. Memorization adds to the skill level of the player, therefore making Tanki more interesting.

3. And it also makes previously usable paints useless.

4. Again, this takes away any skill of the player to identify his enemy's strengths/weaknesses.

5. MUs are meant to be hidden, it adds unknown variation to the battle.

6. Seeing my enemies protection means they can see my protection. Takes away skill of the individual player.

7. Good, now I pick and choose which battles I curse in.

8. No idea what exclusive content you are speaking of.

9. Premium paint was honestly now that good anyways.

10. I was playing xp on xp/bp today and was 1-shot several times by an m3 rail.

"Cons":

1. Yup, way too expensive.

2. R key reveals information that really shouldn't be revealed, as I said above.

3. Why should snipers (shafts?) know what info a tank has?

4. Yup, way too expensive.

5. Yup, lags are everywhere. All players want are better servers, not new updates.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

10. I was playing xp on xp/bp today and was 1-shot several times by an m3 rail.

This is intentional. M3 Wasp no longer has 10% protection to make it more even with Hornet. That was Wasp's advantage is speed and maneuverability, while Hornet's advantage is a guaranteed survival of 1 shot.

The rest of your arguments are very opinion-based, so I won't respond.

Part 2 (continued from Part 1):

What you disliked the most:

  • The removal of 15% protection from the Premium paint (despite the fact that it was given out as part of compensation after 11th of July)

The Premium paint was always meant to be just a "Status" paint, which doesn't give any advantage in battle. Any paint with protection from all turrets should only be given out as a reward and not bought with money. We always supported the principles of fair play and want to avoid features that make it possible to literally "buy" victory. The Premium paint will no longer have protection and should be used in combination with any other standard module instead. It's likely that a future update will bring a different bonus to Premium accounts to compensate for this removal.

  • Why is there no Legacy module for Moonwalker paint?

The module will be added soon.

  • Why does the Masters of Parkour module not contain Railgun protection?

We understand that such a combination would have been very useful, but such a module can't be allowed to be freely used in battles. You do have the mine protection module, which we think is enough.

  • Why was protection removed from the Veteran paint?

Veteran paint is also a "Status" paint like Premium, and it's given to players forever, so we consider it incorrect to give such a high protection to players without them ever having the need to defend their right to own that paint. Besides, having 20% on that paint, is devalues other special eSports reward paints like Acid and Silver, which is another reason why the protection was removed.

Although we have reconsidered out decision and decided to issue a 10% protection module for all players with Veteran paint.

  • Paints are too expensive

Before the update, the price of paints was relatively low because there was no way to equip a paint one liked without sacrificing protection potential. Now that paints and protections are separate, players nave no need to buy the paints therefore their prices could be increased to raise their value, as it wouldn't have any adverse effects on the players, who can't afford them. The paints are now purely cosmetic items that can be purchased for style or camouflage (note that most camouflage paints are relatively cheap and affordable), so the high prices have absolutely no effect on game balance as the expensive paints do not give any gameplay advantage. It's still possible that paint prices will be corrected depending on how many sales they generate.

  • Why did the update have to be released now, during the compensation period after 11th of July?

The compensation was spontaneous and unplanned, while the update was scheduled to be released on this day. The fixing of servers did not concern the team that was responsible for bringing out this update, so it was released as planned, since the servers were fixed beforehand.

  • Excessive lags, crashes, garage not loading, etc.

The lag problem is a responsibility of a completely different group of developers, in collaboration with specialists from the data-centre. They will soon undertake a series of steps, which should give us some serious progress towards improving the lag problem.

  • Expensive kits. It's no longer a good deal to buy them

The main point of kits is to give players access to equipment before they reach the rank to unlock it. Whether you need it or not is your own choice. But the prices might still be corrected, so let's wait until next Thursday before jumping to conclusions.

  • All protections players have should be visible when pressing Tab, otherwise we have to run around the map holding R, to see what each player has.

Unfortunately this isn't possible due to technical limitations, but possible improvements to the interface will be experimented with in the future.

  • The R key doesn't work until the tank has fully respawned

This is a bug. We're working on it, so should be fixed soon.

  • The game became a lot more difficult. Players loved TO for its simplicity, but with modules it became unnecessarily complicated.

Some say exactly the opposite - this update made paints and protections easier to use and understand. At the moment we can't say for sure what's interesting and what isn't. It will take some time to analyse.

  • It used to be possible to change equipment quickly. Now we need to memorise a lot of markings

This is an interesting element of the game and again - it's too early to jump to conclusions.

  • Too hard to remember all modules - too many names and numbers

There is no reason to remember them all. The names are there for identification, while in battles it;s much faster to tell what protection the enemy has by looking at the weapon icons.

This list will be edited as more questions arise.

Look. I know all you can see is pink fog right now because your paint's power has been raised to the level of the paint for those players who fought 4 years for it and made the EN community proud when they took it, but I need to tell you a secret: XP is Hornet+Rail.

This is Hornet

This is Wasp

And this is the difference (No, you are not drunk)

What are you trying to tell me? This change was made to remove the unfair advantage Wasp had in XP/BP battles, so now both Hornet and Wasp have reasons to be used. What more is there to explain?

- There's just too much unfairness in this update. Specially for the ones who had bought expensive paints in the past. And it will be for future buys or micro-updates.

There's a lot of nonsense, since the game was played / understood as it was. Not sure why the separation was done, not sure why we need to see protections- since that could been asked or seen at garage (so this is just bringing an unnesesary  extra-amount of bandwith usage)

It wasn't done right. Since this has brought loads of lags.

There wasn't a poll done to see what players, which are your costumers thought about it.

Many answers you are giving are opinion-based. Not in what the majority thinks (and is against it) or what was good in the game already.

So what you're saying is wasp has the advantage in XP/BP?

Wasp has its advantages and disadvantages. Such as we can knock off a wasp's aim easily but with hornet you have to hit on the side of the tank in order to knock off its aim. Imagine playing and you randomly got one shotted right before you capture. That's only one example. I have many more if you want to hear.

Why is tanki online so obsessed with making a simple game into something so complicated?

If its not broken then why fix it ?

What reason was thier to update the paints?

For whos benefit will this update be usefull too ?

in other words they have no intentions of changing any thing

Meanwhile in my two posts:

Will be fixed in an upcoming update

...

If we see any better alternatives suggested by players - we will take them into consideration.

...

This is a known bug which we are working to resolve.

...

we will even add certain new modules if a lot of players request the same combination.

It's likely that a future update will bring a different bonus to Premium accounts to compensate for this removal.

...

The module will be added soon.

...

 we have reconsidered out decision

...

It's still possible that paint prices will be corrected

...

They will soon undertake a series of steps, which should give us some serious progress towards improving the lag problem.

...

prices might still be corrected

....

possible improvements to the interface will be experimented with in the future.

....

We're working on it, so should be fixed soon.

You still think that devs are ignoring your feedback and aren't changing anything?

If you value the ability to survive a Rail's shot with 100% certainty and you don't value Wasp's extra speed, then I suggest you use Hornet instead.

Just because wasp is faster doesn't mean its better.

Just because Wasp can now get one-shotted, doesn't mean it's bad :D
