Paint Separation Update

Q: What will happen to eSport paints like Silver, Champion or the Helper paint?

The current owners of these paints will be receiving Protection Modules as follows:

  • Owners of the Champion Paint will receive a module with 25% resistances against all turrets and mines
  • Owners of the Silver Paint will receive a module with 20% resistances against all turrets and mines
  • Owners of the Bronze Paint will receive a module with 15% resistances against all turrets and mines
  • Owners of the Acid Paint will receive a module with 20% resistances against all turrets and mines
  • Owners of the Star Paint will receive a module with 15% resistances against all turrets and mines
  • Owners of the Helper Paint will receive a module with 20% resistances against all turrets and mines
In their case the corresponding Protection Modules mentioned above will work in exactly the same way as before. Once these players' are no longer eligible for these special items, the corresponding paint as well as the special Protection Module will be removed from that player’s garage.

 

Can I just make sure I have this right.

Once players are no longer eligible for these items, does it mean that nobody can ever get these special modules again?

 

example, All the current helpers who have a 20% module, can keep it but once it is removed, they are no longer allowed to get it OR are they still capable of earning it again without crystals?

in 1 way this update worked out perfectly.but in an another perspective i think its a total disaster

for eg; i was planning 2 buy inferno be4 the update ,but nw i cant even afford it and it doesnt hyav those protections it used 2 hav.

Here is my problem with the update and separation.

 

Let say that before the separation, I purchased Marine (AKA Marine LGC-02) (but it could be any paint) and paid to fully upgrade the Protection from 0 to Max 5.

 

Now after the separation, there is Fox 5-A M3 which offers the same protection against Fire as Marine.

So it's another 50,000 crystals + Upgrades for Fox 5-A M3 and you just made my original purchase of Marine and upgrades obsolete.

 

in my opinion, this is what is making people so angry.

Such an easy Diversion tactic

Like I predicted a week ago - it's a pattern.  But let's hope this kick-starts some kind of long term revival while they're doing something about our feedback. I still can't bring myself to play when I don't know which turret to select for the best. Still no feedback from tanki about that issue.  Silence so far.

 

It's clear to me at least that this update was all about bringing money in for tanki-x and nothing to do with spicing the existing game up to keep players interested. The numbers of people playing have already settled back down to pre disintegration levels and the downward trend should be setting alarms off in tanki HQ.

 

...

 

Anyway, it's times like this we can expect more double-funds and bonuses from tanki. They only need a small excuse to give us something when things are this hopeless.

new module update in kits i hate it kits already cost alot i was trying to save up for boar kit wich was around 100k-110k and now its 150k becuase there is a module in it

What is this??! Why do all the kits have Trio modules only?! Does it really look like many M2 players want to spend more money on modules than on equipment?! Trio paints were rare in old system (At least, till M3 ranks) but now the exact opposite seems to be happening.

Combined with Trio modules, there are now fancy paints too which are utterly useless for normal players. I mean, it's alright for some exclusive kits to have good paint + trio module, but most kits should come without a paint (or with a really cheap paint <5k) and should have mono or duo module. The frequency of modules in kits should logically be (Mono > Duo > Trio).

Cedric can you tell me why did the XP/BP format need balancing when no one had never actually complained about BP being 2 shot? XP/BP was perfectly fine before the devs decided to "balance" it :)

We've already explained this in a number of ways. Wasp's speed and maneuverability when coupled with the additional protection made it overpowered. Now, if you want to take advantage of Wasp's added speed and maneuverability, you're gonna have to live with the fact that it can be one-shotted.

 

After this update, I realized that:

 

1) I am not rich

2) I don't have rich parents

3) I cannot afford to buy tonnes of crystals with real money

 

Therefore: I quit this game forever !

  1. Neither are most players in Tanki Online
  2. Neither do most players in Tanki online
  3. Then earn crystals by playing the game, and you will still have access to all the gameplay-affecting equipment that can be purchased by "buyers".

If you wish to quit the game, it's your call and I respect that. But I think you should realize that all gameplay-affecting equipment is accessible to you as a non-buyer as it is to buyers.

That's the same rubbish pushed by just about every pay2win developer out there. Yes, it's "accessible", meaning, there isn't a "premium" currency option, but anyone can plainly see everything is priced in such a way that having any sort of actual even footing with someone who chooses to barf up the contents of their wallets in a completely absurd manner is clearly impossible. This game used to be fairly fun to play, now it's nothing but a thinly veiled attempt at getting people addicted so you can try to sell them worthless game points.

  In fact, this statement is such complete nonsense that even one single hull / turret / protection module fully upgraded isn't even in the realm of possibilty of being obtained be a free player anymore before reaching the maximum rank allowed by the game, which puts anyone who doesn't use their wallets as their main weapon at a severe disadvantage throughout the entire ranking process. It's clearly designed this way, and it's complete rubbish to try and push the point of view that the game is anywhere close to fair or even balanced for someone who isn't fighting with large amounts of dollar bills instead of actual gameplay ability.

Ok the prices for paints and kits are outrageous! Seriously, 55k crystals for Mary paint?! Really!? Trying to rip people off?!? That's a big fat waste of money! And Zeus paint 500k? That's going too far! Who will pay for that? Only buyers and players who save very easily! :angry:

I really like the setup for these DM Tournaments, can't wait to play one - I see this as really good progress from Tanki.

 

A bit like how we wanted the 'Go Pro club' to be.  But this is even better with something for everyone, allowing different battlefield setups, some with garage drugs and some without and good variations on Maps etc.

Tanki will soon get the stats on what we like best, please could Tanki publish them?

 

I think it will be easy to see that the zero garage drug games will be the most popular (I still prefer 10 garage drugs per 15 mins :0)

One day - I can see this idea being extended to the 'team' games.

 

I've long been of the opinion that standard battles should be seen as a 'training ground' and designed to make money for the game.  Nothing wrong with this, we have to finance the TO team one way or another.

(However, I still think Tanki should get some cash from advertising on the bill boards - this way they will be able to afford to put the price of 'Supplies Kits' up to reduce their attractiveness and be willing to put the number of garage drugs used by each tank on the scoreboard.)

 

By the way, I love the spectator mode in Tanki X, why not allow this in TO? (say with just one slot 'first come first served'), then we can watch some of the DM Tournaments, or maybe TO can stream them?

Why not publish the results of each tournament and the equipment used by each player?

 

I think that all Protection modules should never be allowed to go over 35%.  In my experience once you get over 35% at Gismo level then the balance between tanks gets too messed up - either you win too easily or you lose very badly (zero cat and mouse games like we get in XP / BP (except for the one shot kills that now ruin it for Wasps).

As I now understand it all current new M3 protections start at 35% and can be upgraded to 50% - this is too high. 35% should be the max.

 

I'm not surprised that AZ finds it impossible to decide which turret to use - either you win too easily of you lose badly - no fun in either scenario.  Max 35% protection would help a lot.  Ask Tankers via a poll.

 

BP / XP potentially remains the best 'cat and mouse' game - sadly the increase in one shot kills on Wasps is bad.  This means all Hornets target Wasps as a first priority (you never thought of that did you) - it's no surprise that the number of Wasps is going down. 

 

Also BP battles (Wasps only) are ruined because by 'chance alone' you get killed in one shot - IMHO the game works best if we effectively have 2 lives - this also gives you a chance to get out of the spawn points.

 

While 'chance' will always play a part in most sports, I find it very boring when the game has too much dependence on the throw of a dice (i.e. mostly caused in this  case by the variable rail gun dpm).

I want XP / BP games where we can have more or less equal equipment and it's our skill at using it (and the map) that makes the difference.  Use the game stats to make the judgement while I save up for an M3 Hornet!

Here's a money making idea for Tanki:

 

As I understand it Premium customers no longer get 15% protection against all turrets.

 

It maybe that TO will fix this by adding back a new module for Premium to use with 15% against all turrets?

 

In addition Premium users could be allowed to create a 4 slot module in any combination they like, which they can use only while they have Premium membership. (More money from Premium users will pay for my other demands (e.g. increase in cost of 'Supplies Kits')).
