Paint Separation Update

OK guys, how about you comment on this. Here's my personal list of what's good and bad about today's update:

 

Pros:

1. Allows you to use any paint in any battle
2. Removes the need to memorise a bunch of protections  It was not a problem could always open up a wiki page on paint
3. Makes previously useless paints usable again  ?
4. Simple display mechanism for enemy tank details (just takes getting used to) I never wanted this facility, and do not use it, it a waste and it ruins the game invades my privacy!  Might as well have driver less tanks
5. Finally able to see other players' MUs  Why do we need to see other players MU can we see what the had for breakfast too
6. Instantly possible to see all players with protection from your turret as soon as you enter a battle (instead of having to visually check their paints individually)  It all over complicates a simple game.  Now some players self destruct when the read my tank!
7. Chat mods' icons visible in Tab list
8. Adds more "exclusive" content to the game for players, who wants to look good and show off ?  not I. That is a waste of time, they should just keep looking in the mirror and frighten them selves
9. Removes OP factor of Premium paint's 15% protection on low ranks (something hundreds of players complained about when premium was added)  Some players had already paid for it
10. Apparently now you automatically get 0/10/20% Railgun protection when you enter a format battle, regardless of what module you have equipped and whether or not you have the module at all!

Cons:

1. Kits are too expensive because of useless paints - will be fixed when the next set of kits gets released
2. Too hard to see information from R key when too many tanks are in one spot. Good lets hope it stays that way
3. Hard for snipers to know what protection distant enemies have - might be improved in future.  I hope not
4. Paints too expensive - nobody is forcing you to buy them and they don't give any advantage in battle  The colours are a waste  I would be happy naked
5. Lags - this is caused by players constantly switching between battles, lobby and garage to test the update. It will most likely subside as players gradually calm down.  Oh how cynical! They have done nothing about lags or multing and all the other inconsiderate stuff this update has wasted time,  Perhaps they could save money by reducing staff easy to do if the wasted less time.  They will all be redundant in a year or so anyway even if it lasts that long.  They need to tackle the real problems not invent even more devilish ways to ruin the game and make even more money or should I say make up for lost income through loosing so many players.

Discuss.I can never understand why so many moderators become company men.  They say jump you guys say how high.  I think that some of you are using alternative accounts to support company policy.

Look, there are different kind of buyers. You have the one kind that goes all the way, full MU everything, hundreds of euros/dollars/whatever spent. You also have people that want to support the game from time to time, or just buy premium. It's not like that if you have a premium account that you can instantly afford to MU everything and buy a lot of good paints.

I happen to like it. It's just that little bit from everything that made it seem so good to me, and to my good friend whom I won't name. It just seems like for the price we pay, we should be able to have a decent paint which you cannot have unless you spend money. Sure we get double crystals, but it's more of a deal to buy the crystals separate, If I want to buy $100 worth, that's 716.000 , I'm not spending $28 for 3 months of premium to try and save that much in 3 months worth of time ! I'm paying for it partially because of the paint, which many players did like. Would be interesting to know who these people were who said this, I've heard no one say "oh the premium paint is bad and I barely use it".

It's not a robbery because everyone agrees to their terms and conditions when they create an account. If you buy a house and the documents you sign state that the previous owner is free to enter your home and remove whatever items he wants (like your belongings), then when it actually happens it's not a "robbery" because you agreed to let that happen.

If a man puts a gun against your head and says "give me your wallet or I kill you" and you give him your wallet,  is it a robbery? You agreed to give him your wallet for saving your life after all...

 

When I am buying/selling a house, I can negotiate all terms with the seller/buyer. I cannot negotiate any terms with TO. That's why in many countries there is law protecting little people against big companies. There are customers rights in the law. Once again, if the law supports robbers not regular people, it's a bad law.

I happen to like it. It's just that little bit from everything that made it seem so good to me, and to my good friend whom I won't name. It just seems like for the price we pay, we should be able to have a decent paint which you cannot have unless you spend money. Sure we get double crystals, but it's more of a deal to buy the crystals separate, If I want to buy $100 worth, that's 716.000 , I'm not spending $28 for 3 months of premium to try and save that much in 3 months worth of time ! 3. I explained this before. Cheap paints which would be come obsolete and useless before due to their low protection can now be used again because you can combine any protection you want with the paint.

I have used it on many occasions because I do not have protection against everything.  Sometimes one only needs, a very small help just enough to allow time for me to suck the life out of someone with my isida!  Once latched on then it has done its job.

Talking about the law, well, here are my thoughts. When you steal from someone/government/companies, it's called theft. When the government or big companies steal from you, it's called 'business'. 

If a man puts a gun against your head and says "give me your wallet or I kill you" and you give him your wallet,  is it a robbery? You agreed to give him your wallet for saving your life after all...

 

When I am buying/selling a house, I can negotiate all terms with the seller/buyer. I cannot negotiate any terms with TO. That's why in many countries there is law protecting little people against big companies. There are customers rights in the law. Once again, if the law supports robbers not regular people, it's a bad law.

I support your point of view, though the comparison with the man with a gun isn't really successful. :p

I wanna address the issue of kits.

 

I understand that the current kits have been very badly affected by this update. However, I've been informed that the new batch of kits coming next week will be assembled in such a way so as not to be affected.

 

Unfortunately I don't have the exact details of what these kits will contain. We'll have to wait till they're released next week. But rest assured that the pricing issues are being taken into consideration.

It's somewhat wrong that developers didn't give a longer notice prior to the update, but on the other hand removal of the 15% is not that big of a deal, so it's not something that requires huge prior announcements and refunds.

Little things matter. They start with little things and end up with huge robberies. It is about principles, not about the freking paint. Once we are unconcerned about little things, we encourage and legitimate them to do bigger things.

Um, Tanki is a business, not a government? So none of this applies? If you don't like it, go to world of tanks... Plus, ofc you can't negotiate with them! They run on a different business model to real estates... And also, this is not harming you in any way that you can't change. As before, if you don't like it, go somewhere else...

I was not harmed because I didn't purchase premium account. But those who did, got harmed because they received less than they were promised. Yes, I can go to WoT and I probably will. Is that what TO developers want?

Premium is better for getting crystals only if you play a lot. If you don't play much, buying crystals directly is definitely a better option for you, while Premium is more of a "status" thing with a few cosmetic features, one of which is the paint. I also think that Premium users should have all XT items available for rent as long as they have Premium (and then pay 500k if they want to MU it and have it in garage forever), but for some reason devs don't like that idea.

That's not a robbery, that's an assault. And since Tanki isn't threatening your life/health with this update, no point comparing it to this.

TO isn't a property dealer. The only way you can negotiate with the game is by refusing to play it and choosing a different game instead.

I thought the whole point of this update was to allow for using whatever paint you wanted with whatever protections. I don't own many paints. But now they're not even affordable, which kinda defeats the purpose of the update.

I understand they don't like it, I simply can't understand why. It seemed to be a great idea when they implemented it.

But what if someone really likes my tank so they come and drown me in my bathtub, and steal my account ? That's Tanki's fault and I shall sue them over such !
