European Football Leagues

I feel like we really need a place on this forum to talk about the European football leagues. If anyone wants to start an MLS page or Asian Football page that's fine.

 

This is the place people can talk about any football league in Europe, including...

 

-Barclay's Premier League

-Russian Premier League (mostly still in Europe)

-Bundesliga

-Serie A

-Ligue 1

...and more

 

Also, PLEASE do NOT call it soccer! It is football! It is not soccer! NOT SOCCER!

 

I'll be updating the poll every week if I can and it will be something new every time. But to start off, who people think will win Barclay's this year and who people think is better between Ronaldo and Messi.

Let me get this topic flowing.

 

I think this year for Barclay's, these will be the top 4 teams who will play in Champions League in the 2017-18 season:

 

1. Arsenal (champs)

2. Manchester United

3. Manchester City

4. Chelsea

 

I think Leicester City winning the title was a fluke and that they're not going anywhere next year. Plus they haven't made any big signings. Almost sold Jamie Vardy.

 

Also think Ronaldo is better than Messi, but not by much.

I don't think Arsenal will win. I think it will be between Manchester United, City, and Chelsea. Hopefully Liverpool get at least top 4 :rolleyes:

I added Liverpool because I think they have a good chance this year. Liverpool will probably finish 5th with their luck lol then lose FA Cup

This season will be tough for Liverpool. I for sure don't see them top 3. Hopefully 4 or 5. If not, 6. If Liverpool reach top 5 this would be a successful season. But they do have to face Man United, City, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal.

True. I don't think Tottenham have much of a chance though. They are terrible starting and ending their seasons. I can see Arsenal or Manchester United winning this year because of all the major signings both teams have made and their already stacked rosters will be huge this year. Manchester United doesn't have much a defense though except for Shaw and Smalling. For them to be good they would need to pick up a defender like Pique or Pepe or Alba or really anyone good. Offense wins games, defense wins championships. Maybe if they somehow got Evra back they would have a better chance of winning.

Chelsea definitely has a shot at Champions League but they need better chemistry. They have a great team but are terrible when it comes to putting their heads together. Man City will have Kompany back this year so they have a good chance of winning the title, but I don't see them finishing above Man United.

Hmm probably Brazil. Their side of the bracket is pretty easy, so they'll be well rested for the finals. The other two groups (C and D) have to beat some pretty tough teams. In groups A and B, Brazil and Colombia are the only good teams really. In groups C and D, there is Mexico, Argentina, Germany, and Portugal. Should be interesting though.

Yeah Neymar is pretty good even though he isn't the star of Barca he is a great underdog.
