How did he know which server I was on?

I was being harassed in battle until I left and went to another random server. The perpetrator followed me to the other server straight away and continued harassing me.

 

How did they know which server I was on?

 

I don't understand how they did it, unless they were a moderator...

Well thats called stalking. Even that player is not on your friends list, that doesn't mean it is not a "super stalker" :) And I higly doubt that moderator will be stalking someone from server to server. They are very busy with their duties and they are certainly not doing that kind of stuff.

The player probably didn't follow you to exact server, maybe he was typing from another server and the message was still sending to you. "You don’t even need to be on the same server to exchange private messages as the system works across the entire cluster. The only requirement is that you and the person you are talking to are both online.", so it doesn't matter what server you are at, he will still be able to send you message, for more info about this update, go here. However there is a way of solving this problem, which is just by blocking the person who is disturbing you, so add these annoying people to your ignore list by clicking on player nickname and then click on "ignore". This is the whole point of ignore option/system :). If you want to discuss further about this or need more help do not hesitate to contact me via pm.
