AWC Project: Best Tanki Memories

The AWC's project this month was simple: Write a short piece on the best memories you've made while playing Tanki Online. The results were as interesting, entertaining, and as diverse as the writers who participated.

Battle For Silence

Battle for Silence

I clicked "Play" on the game of Silence CTF to find that the battle chat was already raging. It was a few minutes from the start of a highly anticipated war between rival clans. My clan had lost the first round a few days prior, so we desperately had to win to force a third game. We had discussed strategies, and were ready to come at the enemy full-force. Pretty soon, the game began. We captured two flags early, one of them by me, even though I was a defensive player; all there was to it was sneaking into the upper base while the enemy wasn't watching. Then, everything started to go wrong. We gave up two quick captures, so we decided to up the ante. Our attack kicked into full gear, with only me holding back on defense. We slowly got two captures- only one more needed to win, and the other clan needed three. If the battle was intense already, it was like standing in a tornado at this point. The enemy dug their heels into the ground, and their defense would not budge. It went on like this for thirty minutes, with us trying to launch ourselves over, under, through, around- really anything possible or even impossible to get the round-winning capture.

After a while, the enemy realized that nothing was going to happen. They slowly started to move into attack mode, and flags were, more than once, almost capped by both teams. It was after about ten minutes of this that the peak of the battle hit. One of our attackers picked up their flag, and jumped down to the bottom level of the map. Subsequently, my tight defense slipped, and they got our flag back to their base. It was now a standoff and I was tired of nothing happened. I mustered up as much will-power as possible, and managed to slip into their base when only the flag-holder was present. I was using hornet and isida, and the enemy holding the flag was using hammer. I trapped him in a corner, and quickly drained him of his health, while he helplessly shot at me. I killed him, and waited for the rusty tank to disappear. After a few seconds, I finally returned the flag, and my team capped the final flag to win the most memorable battle of my Tanki career.

My Best Tanki Memories

My Best Tanki Memories

                Penny the Trickstar

Tanki Online. It’s a very diverse game, as most MMO games go. However, Tanki is incredibly diverse compared to many other games, and often players end up playing for years and making great memories in it. They also make many good friends and the game even impacts the course of the players’ lives. I, Penguin40, more commonly referred to as Pen or Penny, am such a player, having experienced each of these since I joined in May 2014.

I’ll start out with some of my best experiences on the vast battlefield that is Tanki. Ranking up is always exciting and a great experience, but a good rankup party is the best. My rank up to Major was my only rank up party as of yet. I’ve deleted the picture now, and it’s lost in PoTD and my posts as well, but it was definitely a memorable one. My rankup to Lieutenant Colonel happened too quickly because I had a Personal Discount on Hornet M2 and I was determined to get it, but it was great - the feeling of getting my first M2 hull and the access to format XP/BPs was awesome.

Enough of rankups now. Of course, everyone has great battlefield moments other than rankups. I’ll now proceed on a wall of pictures. View at your own risk.

This one is definitely my best Polygon CP ever. It was an epic comeback made possible because of the skill of Mr. TNT. This was a great challenge, but we overcame it, and I felt simply great when we did.

This was reporter Zenith101’s first ever format XP/BP, and an awesome one indeed.

Thee best players I’ve met in Tanki? Too many to name, but Darren4Turbo is easily my best friend for a long time. Ose two Sandbox CTFs were two great battle with high ranking pros - forumers. This was special to me because I had never done such a battle before. It was really exciting for me.

Enough of picture walls. Let’s go on with the text walls, shall we?

Thther friends include the members of every clan I’ve been in - including Darren’s fails (no offense), ShockWave, and my current one, Happy Dragons. (Opposing clans who wish to take us, you may not make the happiest dragons on Earth angry, but if you do, they will unleash their full power!) Oh, and I can’t forget the Tanki Online Training Club trainers and students I’ve actually played with - names may not be mentioned but you guys know who you all are!

All these friends have helped me a lot. Played, enjoyed. These and many more, are great friends I’ve met.

My greatest and most epic victory? All the above pictures are. Plus, getting my best equipment yet - Railgun, Wasp and Hornet M2, would also be considered.

Tanki’s impacted my life quite a bit. I’m a lot better at writing than I was before, thanks to much of the Newspaper articles, particularly those of TriNitroToIuene and Kevred.

I would like to thank all of my friends for helping me. Thanks to you all!

---Penny the Trickstar, out.

Tea Party With Godmode and Co.

Tea Party With Godmode and Co. | My Best Tanki Memory

Hmm? My best Tanki memory? Well, I have a few, but there's this one in particular that I wanted to share with y'all.

Around 3 years ago, I was alone in a battle Abyss DM battle; it was a sunny day in Abyss, not like it ever wasn't, it was always a sunny day in Abyss. Anyways... I sitting, admiring my M1 Railgun I'd just bought, when to my greatest surprise, at the top-right corner of the screen, popped up ' GodMode_ON joined.' I was freaked out, the greatest bully-tanker of all time had just joined a battle, with me! I got out my best M2 combo (even though changing in battles wasn't invented yet) and went hunting for him. It was hard, this was Abyss, so you can imagine how hard it was to find a big, fat, Mammy Twins M3 in red (/ Twins M3 + Mammoth M3 + old Devil), but I managed, or so I thought.

When I turned a corner, I did not find a big, fat, Mammy Twins M3 in red, but rather, a slightly smaller, Titan Shaft M3 on fire (/ Shaft M3 + Titan M3 + Flame). It was Shar0n. He shot my M2 Hornet once, and I died (waaa).

But I didn't loose confidence, I was gonna take down both of them alone! I decided that M1 Railgun wasn't good enough, I got out my M2 Isida!!
So I kept going around, hunting for them, it took about three minutes, when I turned a corner and saw not GodMode_ON, not Shar0n, but a quicker, skinnier Hornet Hammer (whatever Hammer was, this was 2013) in black with white polka dots skulls (Hammer M3 + Hornet M3 + Lord). It was sidlob. He killed me as well (more waaa).
After respawning, I moved forwards, slowly, turned a corner, and saw... a tea party going on just a little bit away! I squinted and saw that three people were sitting there: GodMode_ON, Shar0n, and sidlob. I decided I'd join them, dying one more time couldn't hurt (right?). As I moved closer, they slowly turned their turrets toward me, and after Godmode saw me, he paused, I thought he might be waiting for his supplies to load, and then he'd shoo–

@Godmode_ON: Come join us!
@sidlob: Yea! We don't mind, we got enough tea for everyone!
So I came forward, stopped, and stuffed some tea somewhere in my tank (I wasn't used to tank-tea parties). One hour passed, two hours pass, we were having a blast. But on the third hour, I noticed something odd: Shar0n hadn't talked the whole time, and he was still moving his turret towards me.

@Yisroel.Rabin (Me): What's wrong with Shar0n?
@Godmode_ON: Oh don't mind him, he'll catch up in about a minute. (whisper) See, Shaft's are sort of slow... (/whisper)

And sure enough, one minute later:

@Shar0n: Oh hey! When did this lad join us? Come, have some tea!

That was the day I realized, never to ever use Shaft in my life. It was my best Tanki memory.
AND I never quite understood why three important tankers were having a tea party.

And then we went to Subway for a small photoshoot. Not fake at all, for sure:

My Tanki Career

My Tanki Career

I’ve discovered Tanki Online in August 2014 on Miniclip when I was searching for a good multiplayer game. I tried all of the multiplayer games there, but none were good as Tanki.

I created my first ever account, Danny917. I chose the name ‘Danny’ ‘cause it was my favorite English name back then. My favorite combo was Ricochet and Wasp. I was, most of the time, at the top place in a battle. I took a break from Tanki Online for a month. When I got back, I had  forgotten the password of that account. My best friend at that time was darren2turbo. I decided to create a new account similar to his nickname, so I created ‘Darren4Turbo’.

I played a lot of great and crazy battles. Here are some pictures.

The best players I’ve met in the game are Penguin40, DestroyerPdox, SHAD0W, personia and others! Too many to name, but my best friend that helped me a lot in my career is BuriedSky (that pro mini-mod k).

The above mentioned friends are really the best ones.

My greatest and most epic victory? Hmmm, hard to tell. I don’t really remember, but I guess it was a 1v1 against some famous person.

Tanki Online has improved my life. I know some internet programs about art and screenshotting. My English improved, I learnt some Russian words and my writing skills improved as well.

Greatest Memories

Greatest Memories

We all remember our greatest memories forever or just at times when someone reminds a bit of happening things back then. I will tell about my greatest memories that I can remember from playing Tanki Online.

Many will agree, that Tanki is not only place where you play only game and just make enemies, friends, allies,

I have played an epic battles, clan trainings, event games or just some random parkour battles, but one of good battles that I have played was against Arcade members on Barda XP/BP RU1

botoQHh.jpg

In this battle I made friends with , can't forget this one, this battle was so long, that my old PC was close to overheat so had to play the end with all graphics off, they actually managed to get a comeback from +30 to +3 only. Last flag capture took us ~30 minutes.  And this was 1st battle, where I was playing and mod banned ~5 mults on our team, and I actually went into that battle, just to get 500 exp mission done, but then when saw the fund I changed my mind.

QEgjvEc.jpg

Played with one of best EN clans in team, therefore had no chance on getting to top position on score tab, among with that, I clearly remember playing with my B-F-M clan friends back in 2015 when I joined them, it was not a clan, it was more than that, they were family!

Ag0yE2b.jpg

Can't forget time being low ranked player, played with Latvian players in a clan and made enemies with other Latvian clan, for the time we were enemies, we stalked each other and tried to win all matches against them, miss those newbie times.

Can't forget to mention my one of closest friends on Tanki that I met @x24storm and @xita60 the best Dutch couple I have met(the only Dutch couple I have met), these 2 nugs are one of kindest people I have actually met and played with, sadly they are quite inactive now, moving on to Spicy or @SpaceCowboy18 the helpful cleaner of eSport, this guy will work as charwoman on your clan page and of course all the B-F-M members, had fun playing with the family! I could keep up naming friends - friends not fake friends - that I have met on Tanki, but let's not waste time on showing it to publicity, because they already know, what I think about them, they won't be forgot, even my lovely haters!

I wouldn't say tanki changed my life or made a huge impact on it, I may have became more respectful and more responsible than being few years ago (but this can also be from growing up as a person) and of course from Tanki I learned better English/Russian than from my school teachers.

That's about it! I wish you all to get as many positive memories in Tanki and less bad memories! But after bad things, good things comes more than would want!

All in all, I'd say this was a successful project. Well done folks!

There have been so many great battles/moments/memories, would be difficult to pick 1 out.

That's exactly why I made up one.

There are many realities, but only one fantasy, and that is you own.

Eh?

Yep, you didn't need to pick out one. If you completely understood NS's message, you'd know she asked for many memories k

Write a short piece on the best memories you've made

Still, a short piece, cant contain *that* much

So you had the option of fully detailing one, or just go through lets say, 3
