Improve Shaft shot effect

Little change to Shaft

When some tankers think about Shaft they think "bad and boring" but isnt, they don't think about his power and accuracy because when it shoot the sound is weak and shot effect is small and not bring fear

So i want tell you all another idea

Add a better shot effect to Shaft

To bring really fear to tankers

I began to be afraid of the Shaft when one day on the battlefield I was following an ally and suddenly heard a loud sound and saw my ally explode and thought it can't be possible because his health was complete

Also increase the impact force

The Shaft have the damage but no the details, Shaft need show his really power


The idea is very VERY simple

This is exactly how Shaft used to be back in 2012, before the graphics update. I don't know why they removed it, I like the colour difference.

Shafts shouldn't be loud. In real life it makes no sense for a sniper to show power and be as loud as possible

 

The whole point of Shaft is Stealth and being silent yet deadly

This isn't really possible with the scope update, not only would it get in the way of the laser, but it would make the shaft community madder than it already is at tanki for nerfing shaft as thid would give the player away even more easily

Yeah snipers isnt loud at all.

 

What i would like to see is different laser for each modifications.

I cant know if im facing m0 shaft or m3 shaft! m0 shaft have to shoot me 3 times while m3 can shoot me with 1 hit and there is no way to see it.

this idea is not good as tankers would know where the Sniping tanker is hiding.

its a loud boom and done!

 

When thunder shoots in air, you know where it is? No.

If your mission is to hit a single target than you shouldn't care how loud your rifle is

 

If your mission is to hit multiple targets, Tanki's case, than you should keep your rifle as silent as possible so you won't give away your hiding place

That is another stupid update Tanki introduced. It was used to nerf the turret but it also took away some of its main values

No its not stupid.

Shaft was OP when it first got added. Jump shots was easy done and... Noone knew if they go there, they will get 1-shoted.

Even titan m1 is easy 1-shotted by shaft.

Shaft definitely needs to be beefed. It's too under powered and isn't really competitive amongst other turrets. But first and foremost, they need to fix the shaft bug. Often shafters while zooming in or viewing the surroundings, it's scope just doesn't work properly and often doesn't go in the direction u want it too. These bugs make shaft incredibly annoying to use. If they fix the bugs of shaft, I feel it would be a lot better. Another thing that can be done to improve shaft in general is to make it's turret rotation somewhat faster both in arcade and sniping mode.

The noise it makes sounds like it's sneezing. Maybe it should be changed, but definitely do NOT make it louder. 

What it will change except shaft sounding more deadly?

TBH I think only a recruit would be the only person brave enough to go up to a shaft and attempt to kill it. Plus a shaft shot is basically a colored sniper bullet and I think it should show the shot trajectory, so yeah I agree that there should be some red laser line when a shaft shoots.

 

About the noise, it sounds like a sneeze and I think it should sound like a pop(gunshot), like a real gun. Or maybe you should make it as quiet as possible like the sniper is using a silencer or something.

If that was true, everybody would be using shaft in battles, instead of complaining about it being under powered in the forum.

 

It is actually pretty easy to kill a shaft. The turret rotation is slow, so it can not catch up to you when in sniping mode. It can't even move the tank while shooting, like other turrets can, in this mode. In arcade mode, the shot is not powerful enough to kill you, usually, and still takes a while to reload.

Make a way to reduce power for silence and increase it for more power

To my knowledge, Shaft is supposed to be a kind of particle weapon, which explains the charging feature and unusual sound. While I do agree that it doesn't sound as powerful as it should be, I would rather that the sound stay as it currently is to avoid attracting too much attention. And a quiet death isn't necessarily less scary than a loud one.

 

As for the appearance of the shots, I think that the old colors should be restored (red shots at M3, reddish orange at M2, etc.), but I don't support adding a tracer to the shots. That would expose the user's position far too easily, similar to what happens when firing Railgun.
