Can't open external Links (Flash Player)

 Share

Recommended Posts

Cannot open Any kind of links in the game / chat.
For example clicking on a #Forum link that is in chat, it will not open,
Same goes for Players Nickname -> Profile.. if i click to view someones profile game freezes for a second and nothing happens.
This issue seems to only be happening on applications such as FlashPlayer 20 / MyTank / FlashEx / etc...
And on browsers it is working just fine (Opera / Chrome / Firefox)

Has anyone experienced something like this?
Note: i tried Updating, Clearing the cache, Re Installing and Refreshing.

Hello,

Opening of some external links with Standalone Flash Player is not possible. This is one of the Standalone Flash Player disadvantages, so if you wish to open external links you will have to use browser or try a different version of Standalone Flash Player.

Take a look at this pages:

Which browser to choose?

What is Standalone Flash Player?

As for MyTank and FlashEx clients, please don't use them.

It has been said numerous times that the use of clients such as MyTank and FlashEx is not safe. You're putting your account at risk if you use these clients. Please take a look at this: WARNING: Information on clients!

I use stand alone flashplayer too, and if I click on a link it will just open my default browser and go to the links destination.

Try right clicking on a link and then click 'open', maybe that works for you.

^Right clicking in Standalone Flash Player will not work, since that will open the Flash settings.

@9IRK, it should be possible to open external links in Standalone Flash Player, you could try installing a previous version to see if it works then. Since I haven't encountered this problem before, I do not know for sure what causes it or how it can be solved.

I have to warn you about using third party clients like MyTank though. The safety of your accounts and any other passwords stored on your pc cannot be guaranteed if you use those.

Where do i get the previous versions? On the FlashPlayer page it only lets me download the latest version. If you could provide a link or some kind of information about where to get it, I would be very thankful.

I know about the danger and threat of those Client, I just wanted to see if its the Applications problem or Game problem, which it would be if the same problem was on browsers (probably).

But thank you anyways for giving me a heads up on this one :)

This is what it shows for me:

But it could very well have something to do with the version I'm using..;p

https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html here you can find older versions. If an older version of Flash Player doesn't solve the problem you can try:

- Setting a different browser as your default browser;

- Reset your browser settings.

I see you are using flash player 13, I'm using 20 so that's probably it.

Never knew you were Dutch

try updating your flash or remove it and reload the program again .. some times this is all it takes ...your version might be out of date..
