TANKI BREAKDOWN

-ARENA-

jjm0Pq.jpg

Hello tankers, welcome back to another map breakdown! In this article I will be breaking down the map of Arena. This means I will be telling you how to survive on Arena, what strategies to use, and what are the best places on this map. Please refer to the map above if you do not understand what areas in the map I am talking about at certain points.

Now for a little background information on Arena. Arena has a maximum capacity of eight players for Deathmatch and four per team in Team Deathmatch and Control Points. There is no Capture the Flag format for Arena. In Control Points, there is only one point and it is in the center of the map on the ground. Arena is one of the smallest maps in the game.

First I will tell you how to survive in Arena. Arena is a very tricky map, and it is extremely imperative that you stay focused at all times why playing on this map. One wrong move and you could wind up flipping over or falling off the map and self-destructing. The best combination for this map is to use Firebird and Hornet. Firebird’s short-range power will come in handy here, as Arena is a small map. If you are playing in a Control Points battle, Firebird is the perfect weapon to kill multiple opponents who are in the center box surrounding the point. They will have not much time to escape, and if they do escape the point is left all to yourself. You will need Hornet because Hornet’s speed and its small sides will be easy for you to stay on the map and not fall off. Wasp would not work for this because Wasp is easy to destroy and can easily be flipped off by a railgun or shaft shot, or you can be easily forced off by even a smoky shot. Unless you plan on spending the entirety of the battle on the ground, you should choose Hornet over Wasp.

In Control Points, you always want to stay on the ground. Do not go to higher ground unless you respawn there. The point is your number one priority, and since it is not a Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch battle there is no reason for you to go to higher ground. Always continue to attack the point, but make sure you have your escape route in case you are ambushed and have low health.

If you are playing in a Team Deathmatch battle, make sure you have one tanker or more accompany you if you are going to attack. Since this map is so small, the opponent will surely have somebody on their side. The higher ground is in the crossfire, but you will most likely be destroyed there whether it’s through the first wave or the second wave of attacks. Staying on the ground is the better option, because if the opponent falls off, you can be there to destroy them.

If you are playing in Deathmatch, going to higher ground is inevitable. Remember, it’s you against everybody else, so you need to get in the crossfire. Getting destroyed makes very little difference in your final position, since the score revolves around the enemies YOU destroy. Make sure you have fully loaded ammunition when you are going up the ramp to face your opponents, and make sure nobody is following you. If you get shot from behind heading up the first ramp that leads to the top and you can’t stop in time, you will wind up self-destructing and being destroyed.

The best way to win in Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch is to push your opponent off of the edge. This is more effective in Deathmatch, because when you push them off they will lose one destruction and they will gain a loss. If you do this enough times, you will start to see a significant impact and you will take a large lead on your opponents. Make sure you have your turret facing the other way when you knock them off, and make sure they are at the edge or in a place where they can’t flip face up again. Your turret should be facing the other way in case you are going to get ambushed by another person, who will try to push YOU off as well. In case there IS someone behind you, you will need to quickly shoot at them while still trying to knock your opponent off. This type of play usually makes your opponent angry, so watch out for them to try to do the same to you.

Since there is no Capture the Flag, you don’t need a precise format of attackers, midfielders and defenders. Just be sure you know where your team is, but also where your opponent is. Remember, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

That’s all for now tankers. Remember, stay on low ground unless you are playing in Deathmatch, make sure you have a narrow hull to be able to maneuver better, and good luck on the battlefield!
