How about for the ratings page we separate caught gold boxes into two separate categories? One for player caught gold boxes, and one for "natural", server dropped golds.

I don't think it's really necessary. Even with "natural" golds there wasn't really any way to know if they were caught fairly or not, whole most player dropped golds require the same kind of competition as normal ones, whether it's an StG mode or just a normal battle. Very few golds are dropped just for someone to take for free, so I don't think it matters if they mix in with the statistic.

And another thing. Natural golds are also often taken without any effort. There are people like JekaMIX, who has a hundred thousand mindless slaves fans, who are ready to sit in a battle for hours playing Wasp Fire just so that they can invite him to take the gold when it drops in return for adding them to his friend list.

 

So yeah, no point separating the ratings because both natural and player-dropped golds can be rigged.

I never considered this to be a serious problem. Golds aren't really much about skill anyway - at least 50% of what it takes to catch a Gold box is luck, since you need to get lucky with the drop location and get a lot of golds dropped by the server. And like I said in my post above - even natural golds are often taken without any effort, so doing this won't really mean much in terms of skill required to get a top rating on the "normal golds" scoreboard.
