How is the progression in Tanki X compared to TO?

Do u go through the ranks faster or slower, and the same for equipment.

I feel as though without M2/M3 equipment in TO you cant get the full experience as the tanks are too slow, is it the same in TX?

Please discuss Tanki X in their forum: http://en.forum.tankix.com/

Additionally, discuss here: Reviewing TankiX with TO as a comparison; why I've found TankiX's balance and game mechanisms to be better than TO's.

I have a mission to gather 5x armor boxes. I popped into a TDM match with only a few players and got two before the match ended. When it restarted, there were only two of us, both on the same side, and the other guy quit. I thought "Great! Easy mission!" I drove around the empty map picking up armor boxes, but my tally never increased. Is that by design, or was that a glitch?

Yes it was meant to be like that. Since there were no enemies the supplies don't count cos well... that's a loophole to the system :P

Is there a performance difference between using the downloaded client versus playing through a web browser? Why should I prefer using one to the other?

The game client is far more better in performance compared to web browser. Even standalone isn't as good as the client. I think you should try the client.

Quick question - where can I find the wiki page with like, how Firebird's shot looks, or Railgun's swirly-beam? Like as in, how each turret's "discharge" looks, I guess?

There is a topic in the resources section: Materials & Images

I think there is no such page. Search youtube to see ammunition of turrets...

If you have micro-upgraded your turret/hull to +10, do you get any actual benefit from taking the free "upgrade" to the next level?  For example, I have an Isida M0 at +10, and a Wasp M0 at +10. I kind of like the idea of someone thinking "Oh, that's only an M0, I'll just charge him" only to end up getting themselves killed by more firepower than they expected.

Clearly, I need to take the free M1 upgrade before my rank gets high enough to make M2 available or I lose the free option. Also, clearly I need to go ahead and move up to M1 if I want to continue upgrading.

But until one of those circumstances arises, is there any benefit to M1 over M0 +10?

yes, you get to use the alteration and it's m1 even in battles with MUs turned off, if you keep it at m0 10/10 it will just be m0 0/10 in that battle

There are a few benefits, but these also come with disadvantages like everything.  ;)

Advantages

  1. The sheer thrill of having M1's. ;p
  2. The nice steel plating thing that M1's have. ;p
  3. Alterations.
  4. You can further micro-upgrade your equipment to M2.
  5. Can't think of anything else. :D

Disadvantages

  1. If micro-upgrades are switched off in a battle, your turret will be like M0.
  2. Enemies may tend to get after you more, thinking you are using M0's.

Yesterday, on the scorecard at the end of the battle, I saw a white dot where the person's rank should be, no name, but the player scored in 4th place out of 8 positions. What's that all about?

No screenshot. I had already clicked-in to stay for the next battle. I was looking over my score and the team's score. I glanced at the enemy's standings and saw the white dot with no rank or name. The next battle started loading before I could get a screenshot.

Sure you can keep M0 if you want, but I personally would not want to be focus fired or charged, especially since Wasp is very fragile even at M1.

Is update 493 Permanent???

In case you don't know, update 493 is that we can't see premium accounts anymore.

I really hate this update and I hope this update will be removed soon.

It is indeed permanent.

A known bug which has already been reported, so far -to my knowledge- devs haven't found a solution yet. Its a minor issue really since it doesn't directly affect gameplay, an annoyance at worst.
