PROJECT POSTPONED FOR 3 MONTHS

Reason

Alright, so look. I created the project under a really tight time constraint (which I've been constantly self-denying for the last week), and I haven't quite planned things out the way they were supposed to be. As a matter of fact, I've quite literaly hung empty promises, and we all now that empty promises, when dried, are the seeds of disappointment. However, this postponement is not quite literally a pause to the project. If at least 20 more tankers (any more will just inflate my ego :)), sign up on the website, then the grand release will be all the more spectacular. You see, a month ahead, I have a lot of real life work ahead of me. I will not be active on the Tanki Online Forum for the next 3 Months, up to the release of the new website (you can still contact me). 

 

Features after Postponement

 

• A fully customizable Tank Builder (Explained more in depth below)
• A Tanki Hypothetical Battle Calculator 
• A fully customizable Tanki Online Map Editor  (Explained more in depth below)
• A custom-built forum dedicated to the website
• Users can use their custom made Tank as a flair/Profile picture on the forum/website

After all my tests, and work stuff is done, I will start with the fully customizable Tank Builder. You will be able to create, and modify your own Tank. You can choose from Pre-set templates, or remix the works of another tanker, or simply start with a base tank, and modify a few parameters. I am not quite sure whether I will be programming this in Javascript or Processing JS, but details will be revealed in November. After completing your tank, you have 4 options:

• Export code for your custom tank, and share it with other tankers. By sharing the export code, other tankers will be able to interact with a 3D model with your tank, and send you feedback through the forum wether they like it. They can even modify your tank, export the code, and send you an improvised version.
• Send the export code as a suggestion to the developers, either directly through a in-program button, or through the Developer Suggestions in the forum
• Publish your Tank creation so others can remix/interact with it!

- A fully customizable Tanki Online Map Editor  (Explained more in depth below) 

 

You will be able to create, and modify your own Tanki Map. You can choose from Pre-set templates, or remix the works of another tanker, or simply start with the empty base map, and drag a few blocks. You can go more in depth, by configuring advanced options such as the width, height, and other default parameters for each block indivually, or as a whole. Details will be revealed in November. After completing your map, you have 4 options:

• Export code for your custom map, and share it with other tankers. By sharing the export code, other tankers will be able to interact with a 3D model of you're map. I have an idea in mind, that Tankers will be able to test drive various hulls on any given exported map, however I doubt I have the programming ability to execute such code. Other tankers can even modify your map, export the code, and send you an improvised version.
• Send the export code as a map suggestion to the developers, either directly through a in-program button, or through the Developer Suggestions in the forum
• Publish your Map  creation so others can remix/interact with it!

 

Basis

Hey guys! I've been playing Tanki Online for the better part of about half a decade. I'm a pretty amateur web-developer, but you can see some of my work on my Portfolio, which I'll link later on. So, recently, I've seen Tanki's popularity decline. To help, I've been wondering whether I should make an Unnoficial Tanki Fan-Run Website. Of course, I need the support of you guys to go on. Do you think I should make the website? Thanks!
