Calls for different areas of the map

Recommended Posts

When communicating with other people in the match, either in the text chat or on external VoIP services like Skype or Discord, you may need to describe something that is going on in a certain area of the map, for example, your current position, the area in which an enemy is currently holding, where a gold box is going to drop, etc. It is currently very difficult to describe where to go, especially with the larger maps. Displaying names for the current area of the map can be very helpful, for example on the top left of the screen.

Doesn't seem particularly useful. It would be hard to name every single area in a map and even harder to remember what area each name is assigned to. I assume you got the idea from naming each map region from GTA, where every neighbourhood and landmark has a name, but Tanki maps are very small so you can usually see what's going on in the map anyway.

But on the other hand most clan players make up names for areas on maps and refer to them, so I guess this feature could eventually catch on and make communication between players better on large maps.

Why not just adding a coordinate system to the game? Simple X-Y coordinates originated from one corner of the map, based on meters, and you see your coordinates at, for example, top left edge oft the screen. You can just say the coordinates anyone knows the orijin and the increasing directions of X-Y axis' will roughly know where you are talking about.

After 400 hours of playing people should know the map by heart and it's typical details.

If the idea go through it's a good idea as it would formalise name, otherwise if people gives them different name you achieved nothing. Beware that you probably need code name for clan war if using the common chat.

It might be precise, but this will spoil the graphics, still this is not applicable on every map, such has madness and map with tunnel.

maybe minimap?

Without enmys shown on it.

This would be good to have (X,Y) and the grid on a mini map. A mini map that could be developed for the new turret Bombard (artillery), to help the tanker. As the tanker will most likely to hide behind a wall it will not see where his shell has fallen. Therefore a red spot (for the red team) would show for a couple of second on the mini map showing where the shell hit the ground. Also if you don't see where your shell fell it's difficult to adjust, as I understood the turret require some good skill this could help to popularize the artillery turret. Once the mini map is created/added to the game it could be an option (can be activate from keypad or settings) for the other tankers.

Tanki maps aren't that complicated... Just say "our base", "enemy base", "Point [a, b, c, etc.]", "The Bridge". There is no "the mystery weapon box right next to the juggernog machine on the 2nd floor of the building next of us near that gigantic horde of zombies". Plus, players know what to do: capture the flag, kill the enemy, and stay at the point, tanki honestly isn't a complicated game to understand.

Maybe he's referring to the way certain areas and routes are named in CS:GO.

For eg. The Dust II map in CS isn't very big and many TO maps are bigger and more complex (Düsseldorf, Kungur, Barda, Novel, Madness etc.)

Yet Dust II has an A site, a B site, then you have routes called A long, A short, B long, B short, Mid doors, etc.

Though I agree that it's best if players coin the names of areas & routes.

Maybe when u press some button it shows green squares and big text like A1 - B4 - E5 etc.) on it, so someone tell friend where is flag or something, and friend can approximately know where could be that place. It would be useful if you know what I mean.  :)

I never really expirenced such a problem, if I wanna tell a friend where gold is dropping, well, I don't. I guess it could add a fun sort of stelthyness feeling to maps, if you know what I mean. It would sound cool to say "I'm hiding behind the red house in Area R2."
