[Declined] STG: Dev's + Mod's vs Community + Youtubers!

So my idea is less about adding to the game as it is using elements already in there. 

 

Proposition/Proposal - Developer's and Moderators/Admins vs Community and Tanki Online Youtubers.

 

 

So as the title states it is a STG (Save the Gold) and it would be the defenders of Developer's and Mod's vs Community and Tanki Youtubers. The Gold can be 10K instead of just 1K however developers and mods can get a special ONE TIME ONLY protection against all for anywhere between 25% and 30% just so it's not too OP [Open to changes]. Community and Youtubers would be attackers, the only desire that I would have here is that they should have at least a minimum of M3  combo at a stretch, preferably M3+/M4, but that is not always possible [potential for lower rank team up however dev's would have to use lower account's and less protection and less GB reward]. All supplies enabled with any combo and any prots, even if they have something like acid ;) [maybe haha]. 

 

Map - Lost Temple 16 v 16 - To me it is the perfect map - In the centre would be where the gold is or even more than one, the spawn locations could be config'd/ altered so that developers and mods who die would spawn near the gold. Developers and mods would also have to gold glitch or be unable to take it somehow (stops them from taking it, but also allows a titan or mammoth to camp on it and mine it  :D).  http://i.imgur.com/NuvJ0If.jpg - Link to gold spawn locations - Credit to Mafioso who created it.

 

Attackers (Community) - would spawn in both bases and the top and down surrounding the middle, as seen on the map provided.

 

Potential for an EN and RU version.

 

Defenders - This can be decided by those who work at Tanki online. (16 defenders).

Attackers - Youtuber's can be approached first and asked, however no more than five, they must record it and post it to Youtube for the community. The rest of the 11 spots can be done by submitting names to a random selection wheel like it has be done before in another time; 5 additional names are chosen as back up's. Once the 11 names are chosen they will be PM'd in the forum, if they do not respond within 3 day's a back up will be chosen, NO EXCEPTIONS. The PM will notify them of the server, the UTC time and ensuring that they have the right equipment (remember it is M3 minimum, as I would prefer not to see any M2's if they don't have M3 combo than it will not make for fun viewing). To make it clear - [5 Youtubers who will record and post to channel and 11 other members of the community chosen at random].

 

This event has the potential to be Live streamed by Tanki Online where commentators can give commentary over it, Tanki can also run another event of, "If 'X' amount of people are attained on the stream then there will be 'Y' amount of increased funds for the weekend that follows." With Youtuber involvement who have large bases they can increase the amount of people who view this contest via posting online, namely outside the Tanki Online community which can increase the numbers of people who play this game. This also doesn't involve lengthy ordeals that designers and creators have to go through like making new turret's, paints, supplies, updates, etc. It will also give Cedric Debono the chance to really get involved and make inroads with the community and take the lead of promoting of this Epic Square Up. I also think it will help mods and dev's bond with the community as well. Other additional bonuses could be that if the attackers get to the gold in under a certain amount of time there will be increased gold drop percentages for the following weekend. I think this has the potential to work as STG is a popular informal game mode that has yet to be truly 'latched onto' by the community. Something that I have always thought is that the community of the game will do what is fun and enjoyable, so by enhancing what they find enjoyable in a way that will benefit them will also benefit the owners of the game. 

 

Summary - 

• Developer's and Mod's/Admins vs Community and Youtuber's.
• 16 vs 16 (5 Youtuber's and 11 general community players).
• Map - Lost Temple - Defender's in centre; attackers spawn in both bases and and 'north and south' part's of the map.
• Minimum rank - General - Generalissimo - However MUST have M3 combo minimum.
• Option for EN and RU based.
• Sign up done by submitting name into a 'wheel of fortune' lottery. Thise chosen must respond to a PM in the forum in 3 day's or back up's will be chosen. Those who have responded to PM will be temporarily added by Defender Team member who will invite them all to the battle.

Additional idea's to help:

• Advertise on Vlog, homepage, and pop up when you come into the server after an update.
• Livestream by Tanki on Twitch with commentary - Make a deal about it; e.g. - "If 'X' amount of viewers watch the stream, than the following weekend there will be 'Y' increase in funds.
• Youtuber's to record and post onto Youtube channel's.
• If attackers get to the gold in under 'X' amount of time then the following weekend there will be Double Gold chance increased.

Additional idea for Gamemode Format in Tanki Online: -

 

Another idea for this that could be trialed is something similar to that of an STG mode for Pro Battle passes. The idea is that a two teams would play something like a CTF/TDM till a gold drops than once it drops teams re-spawn back in bases BOTH teams are currently unable to take gold, however the team that has the designated defender tag can equip all drugs and lay mines [The defenders will be able to lay mines like they do in a parkour battle for 5 minutes and have no cool-down restrictions, attackers will not be able to fire weapons, incur damage or knock back with them, however they take increased damage and immediately die (this is to stop them from getting close to the Gold Box to take in like 5 secs; the kills would not be permanent onto their score card or D/L much like parkour mode (Either this or some-other way to stop GB "griefing"). After 5 minutes restrictions are lifted from attackers and they can drug fully, defenders have all abilities however mine laying abilities have the same cool-down as they regularly do.

It may seem like a fun idea at first, but there are multiple issues.

• "Save the Gold" events are very time consuming. Very few helpers (let alone developers) will be able to get together to organise it.
• Many players (especially in the Russian community) are strongly against StG events and Gold boxes in general. An event like this might generate a lot of negative feedback.
• There is no reason for "youtubers" to have privilege in being picked for the event. Just because they make videos about the game doesn't mean that they should get VIP access to events.
• "Save the Gold" events have existed for a long time and there is nothing special about them. The only thing that would make this different from any other StG is the fact that officials of the project would be organising it. It's just not interesting enough anymore to deserve such a massively advertised event.
• The way you suggest this should be done requires way too much preparation. Special modules, special value gold boxes, custom spawn mechanics... That kind of event would require a massive amount of work without much reason for it.
• You suggest that the event should be streamed. I'll have to remind you that even the eSports finals with battles between famous clans aren't getting that many views nowadays and you think that people will want to watch a StG event? Sorry to disappoint you, but a bunch of players getting blown up on mines over and over again would be extremely boring to watch.
• This last point is mostly just my opinion, but this is a game about tank battles, so any official in-game event should be an actual battle, rather than just some weird game where a bunch of people are trying over and over to take a box.
