Queue for joining a battle

We should close this topic, clearly people are against this bad bad idea!

Many People have already thought about it before me :)

I think many of us tankers have had a moment of disappointment while waiting for a place in certain battle just to see that we missed the chance and someone with better ping got there first. My idea is to have a queue to join currently full battle. There could be three buttons - queue in red team, queue in blue team and queue in any team.

I like the concept... to better improve it...

Normally when we look at a game we want to join and it has open slots, we see the button to join Blue side, or Red side... however when either side is full, instead of button to "JOIN SIDE" you "JOIN QUE". 

 

Also... when the game is registering the Que, it keeps track of how many are waiting the longest in the que, as well in the game in the position your trying to take. So end of every match, those already in the game the longest, are removed, and put at end of que, while the next in que, who been there the longest, takes his spot... so sometimes an entire team in a match could be replaced, while others, it could only be a few replaced. Once your kicked back from the match, and into que, if you choose to leave, you can do so without penalty, for any reason. 

 

Also... those in que?? Do what? Start at screen of  picture of map? Remain in Chat? or... watch the match they wish to join from an aerial spectator mode?? They start off Que in aerial mode, and can choose to follow "NEXT PLAYER" etc. Maybe options to change players randomly? Or lock on certain player. However... so no concerns of conflicts of interest, you can only view players of the current team your wishing to join. 

 

As for switching sides? those remaining in game between matches as some are kicked to que, change to the other team as normal. When in que, you remain in que for specific side. So if your kicked back into que after match, the next time your in the match if you wait long enough, you could be playing against previous teammates, though some may be on your team as they were mixed up as well! 

 

The whole idea prevents players from becoming favorable to certain teammates. So many random kickbacks differing each match whether or not players remain or return to que, and because Que doesn't swap and match teams do, than the next time someone is in, it's a whole different team!

I like your ideas, however, I'm not in favor of kicking players out after finished battle.

Mixing teams up may be a good thing, but that needs separate topic and discussion IMO.

 

Just use an auto-clicker 

Better ping and autoclicker shouldn't decide a place in a battle IMO, that's why I'm suggesting this.

No, the onee who click 1st more fast, will obtain the entry to battle, no waiting list is needed. Why players will wait for short battle??

For extremely long battle, this may be a case, but that do not matter. If their is a team waiting list and the team is losing, the onee 1st supposed to entry, they will not enter.

I think you don't fully understand how it would work.

You'd join the que and when the place in a team is empty, you are sent to the battle automatically.

Could I suggest to you an idea?

I do not know how much this is needed players, but still ...

I thought it might make a kind of "auto feeder in the game" or a kind of "bookmark" this battle ... it would serve, for example, when a player sees the battle in which he wants to be, but there are no places, will then perform the "feeder" or "bookmark" (optional) ... For example, a player does not want to stand "on" the game and waiting for an opening, but simply activate the option "bookmark" that would have occurred only if there were vacancies, and the "auto feeder" would immediately join the game (if not in another game then).

This is just a suggestion that I think would help in a way many players...

This would be useful if you see multiple battles that are interesting for you.

You bookmark them for the auto-feeder and wait

 

 

But you have to consider, that you will not be the only one, that uses the auto-feeder. Multiple people will tag the interesting battles and wait for the auto-feeder to bring them in.. so you will need a kind of a queuing mechanism.
 
You can think of it, like there is a queue of players lined up infront of each battle.. and you see only the number of queued players.
    Sandbox CTF         [4][4] (Q:+8)  .....queue length 8 players. you have not joined yet.
 
You can join the queue of the battle if you like..
    Sandbox CTF         [4][4] (Q:3/8)..... queue length 8 players, you are Nr. 3, so 2 are ahead of you in the queue.
    Polygon CP            [8][8] (Q:1/5)..... queue length 5 players, you are Nr. 1, so nobody is ahead of you in the queue.
 
..and if a slot in this battle opens up, the player ranked foremost in the queue will join it. At the moment a player joines a battle through a queue, his name will be deleted from all other queues he has signed up for (so the queue counter of those battles will decrease by 1).
The system could also tell you your personal place-number in the queue where you are ranked foremost.. so you can see something like
     "formost place of yours: 1 (0 players ahead of you)"
 
While I think that this would be a very nice feature for the battle list.. I fear that the developers focus in exactly the other direction: matchmaking. But let's hope for the best.

I have one simple idea about making waiting lobby. It could be used as a proof on what type of players want to join certain map. It doesnt have to do anything with the map so it makes more lag or anything, just like a preparation screen where you are able to choose which team you can follow. And this can be seen from battle by pressing certain button. Like if some big rank waits to join, you can please your team mate to leave so you stand better chances of winning. If some popular ( not necceserly but some name you heard thats good at some map like Poly CP and you think he could be good ) tanker goes into waiting lobby you stand chances of getting him in if you open up a space. Maybe

I meant that in every team battle, there should be a lobby button. Instead of clicking join red/blue team (actually instead of those buttons), you click on lobby blue/red buttons, that are in place of "old" join buttons. When you click lobby blue/red, your map loads up fully and then you are sent to new screen like big list that can hold up to 10 players for each team ( meaning 10 players can wait for certain battle, waiting for open space ). As soon as space opens up, only players in lobby can join red/blue team. Now if you click lobby red, when you join lobby, you have chance to switch between teams you want to join ( if join blue lobby if red space opens up, you cannot join it, must switch to red, then join ). Overall this would reduce amount of lag in current battle list and chat, it would be easier to play. I also have idea about adding chat into the lobby so players that wait for same battle can chat without lag. Thats about it
