Self-destruction causes damage

When you explode by self-destructing, you can see a fireball literally form and then fade away. This sudden fireball should cause damage to other tanks just like a Firebird does.

 

Long story short:

So when you explode, the 'shockwave' will damage others' tanks.

Well, I swear I've seen this idea at least a dozen times, but all the other versions have been archived. I guess this will stay. I'm personally neither for or against the idea. I mean, it might make the game a little bit more realistic, but it really doesn't benefit or worsen the game.

How about if you want to die, by self destructing, like when a gold falls? Imagine that. But how much do you say, would this shockwave damage your tank?

Well, I swear I've seen this idea at least a dozen times, but all the other versions have been archived. I guess this will stay. I'm personally neither for or against the idea. I mean, it might make the game a little bit more realistic, but it really doesn't benefit or worsen the game.

Plus it will just be annoying for the damaged tankers. Plus for your spoiler...I can see you didn't quite catch what the user meant :p

bad idea .people would just start suisideing into the point in CPs (especially Polygon CP) and into the enemy base in CTFs ( ideas like this are kinda like that one "Kamikaze" supply thing ( don't remember what VLOG it was in but it was basically just a short little joke cartoon at the end of the VLOGs forever ago)

ME likey do it do it do it PLZ PLZ PLZ i love this idea plus it is good confusion tactic like if all the reds just storm the blues and blow up in their face the Blues are gonaa be all like WTH while a few Reds sneak up and seal the flag

not just annoying. but much to OP. say someone uses this in polygon CP . they barge up to the point . press Delete and destroy everyone at the point.....

its not gonna act like a bomb , and still there are 10 Seconds before the Blow , The damage for example could be like 1 Ricochet's Projectile but a huge blow with relatively larger recoil like an explosion, it will also have effect only on tanks in a specific radius, Again The Damage will not be too high. perhaps it will be just like Thunder, a bit more damage and splash damage than thunder

Nice idea, maybe the biggest tanks will make more damage. And for warn other players the tank could start to "blink" ahah. I think it would be balanced because not many players like to ruin the K/D ratio (uh, maybe you can increase the malus for self-destruction)

The explosion of a dying tank is the biggest explosion in the game, and yet no one feels it. Could be really nice to have some splash impact force from exploding tanks. I'm not sure about damage, you can discuss this idea here but I don't think players will enjoy it.

Splash impact force shouldn't be much stronger than Thunder's splash impact, this will make the game more interesting by adding a few more possible strategies that include using this death splash in your advantage. Here's a list of possible strategies and effects this update will have on the game:

 

  • If you see a team mate right next to you is about to die, you have to time your shot correctly to avoid his explosion setting your aim off. You can also take this to your advantage and try to kill a damaged enemy in time to make another one miss a shot at you. Though this one is probably relevant only in long range combat.
  • If you fight two enemies one of which is standing unstable on the edge of a cliff or anything else, a nice strategy would be to attack the more stable enemy so if you manage to kill him you also might get the other player pushed off by the explosion.
  • Trying to push enemies off the edge is a not so popular strategy, but with splash impact you get a little higher chance of success with this when your enemy kills you before you push him far enough.
  • Parkour! While not being very powerful it will still make a tank's death more useful in parkour and will make some creative tricks possible.
  • The game will just feel more dynamic that way.

I don't know if it's the right place to put my suggestion cause this topic suggests making the explosion damage players while I say I think it shouldn't damage but should have impact force. These are two different suggestions.

 

EDIT: or at least pass this idea to the developers separately because if they were only told about the damage idea then the impact force idea kinda gets lost...

The damage of Thunder would be too much, I think the splash damage and the splash impact of Thunder would be perfect, after all, tanks are not getting hit with projectiles only debris of the self-destructing tank.

Only a selfless teammate would do that. stuff like that would trash their K/D and score.
