Question about combining discounts

I know i already posted a topic similar to this but i didn't got a clear answer, All i got was just explaining! :wacko: :unsure:

(Unfortunately, the 2nd reply showed a way to do that but wasn't clear and gave me wrong answer at end)

So my question is:

If i have already 10% discount and there is 40% discount going on

how much discount (in % percentage) in total i will get?

Please don't write any explains just very simple answer just like "1+1=2" i mean like this: ("number"%)

100 - 10% = 90. 90 - 40% = 54. 54 is the price you pay, so the discount you received is 46% (100-54).
