Remake the Speed Boost supply

Recommended Posts

I think it would be a cool idea to make the Speed Boost supply slightly different. The major changes would be in how you use it. Instead of activating it and going faster for x amount of time, you would just get another beam under the health and reload bar once the supply is activated. With a selected key, you can actually use the boost, until the "speed boost bar" is empty, which is when it will disappear. The supply-cooldown times would remain the same, it only makes you able to control your speed a little bit more. So, long story short, it gives you a speed-boost bar under the health and reload bars, when activated the supply it will appear full, and you can use the boost when holding a key. Releasing the key removes the speed effect, but the remaining speed boost in the bar will remain. When you pick up another speed-boost box while still not having used the previous one, the bar just refills.

Interesting idea, but I doubt it will happen, this involves adding a new key to the controls and developers are strongly against that. They want to keep the controls as simple as possible without adding any new buttons for extra features.

I agree. The simplicity of the key set up is good as it is. But, I wouldnt mind and extra button. Maybe one that will work while you're driving. Trying to push the upward key button and say...b for boost, it would infringe on inspecting your surroundings as you drive.

I strongly disagree with this one. My keyboard, and alot of other peoples, do this thing called "ghosting". This means I cannot drive diagonally, rotate my turret, and shoot at the same time. Say I was capping a flag, and wanted to be faster, shoot at attackers, and drive at the same time- I would not be able to do that.

Speed boosts are just fine as they are. The do exactly what they need to do- make you faster.

keys to activate speedboost might be "Arrow up"/"Arrow down" or "W"/"S"
