[Declined] Allow garage to open upon death

Recommended Posts

Have any of you ever wanted to switch hulls and or turrets during a battle? Mostly when you die? Usually you have to hope to open the garage and have your selections made before you spawn, because then the game will make you self destruct, ruining your k/d, making you lose points and it just takes up more time.

It honestly is VERY annoying, so why not have the garage open up automatically when you die in case you want to change? If not, just close it out and you'll spawn. When the garage opens, you won't spawn until you've made your selections, saving you time, crystals and points.

I see no downsides to this idea at all, really. No increase in button usage, no crystal cost, plus you don't spawn until you close out the garage, so you don't get wasted by pesky those pesky spawn killers. It will allow you to do what you need to do.

Now, say you go AFK, you'll have the usual four minutes as if you had hit the pause button so you can't stay in the garage the entire duration of the battle, and if you exceed those four minutes, you'll be kicked. It's a drawback, but understandable.

Pros for this idea:

-The ability to change equipment without any worry of causing your tank to self destruct

-Saves more time since you won't have to die again just to change

-Since you don't spawn until you close the garage, you don't ruin your k/d, or lose any points

-Not having to worry about spawn killers destroying you while you're in the garage

-No cost to you and you don't have to change if you don't want to

Cons:

-You'll be given a four minute time limit which will shot up near the top of the screen, and if you fail to close out the garage within those four minutes, you'll be kicked.

Declined.

I am pretty sure that most people will be annoyed as hell to have it popup every time I die. Simply, as soon as you die, press the garage button then "Enter" on your keyboard, most of the times, it's going to load quickly and you'll change then respawn normally. Moreover, if you're getting spawn killed, then it won't matter how much time you stay paused, because it means their team is a lot more powerful than yours, so whenever you spawn, you'll get killed. Another option is to simply click SD, go kill tanks and deal damage and when it's at 3 seconds or less, click garage and then you will die and respawn with your new combo.

That makes absolutely no sense. Either you read wrong or...you just like things the hard way.

Tell me. What is more annoying.

Dying, and trying to open your garage in time, only to find you have to die again to change, or being able to safely and effectively change your equipment. I also mentioned simply closing out the garage. If it's THAT annoying to take just two seconds to close it out...I don't know what to tell you. Maybe I'll go around lobby chats and ask people, and see if they have the same...rather strange point of view, or the more likely being approving of it. For me, the garage opens up so friggin slow. Sometimes taking a full minute. It takes mere seconds to spawn, so i basically have to die AGAIN just to change my tank.

You do understand that if the garage opens up every time you die, that's going to be a minute of loading every time you die?

I agree with mustafa, because of this reason:

It will definitely annoy me if I have to click the exit button, every single time I die, which will add up. And then there is the whole garage loading, which will take even longer.

Seriously, why would people want to change their tank, every time they die? And I don't see the problem with having to die once more, to change your equipment. It is a lot less hassle then pressing exit 4,525 times. (That is how many times you have died)

Definitely having the garage open up after every single death is more annoying. I change my equipment maybe once during a 15 minute battle. 2-3 times at most. And a lot of players don't change it at all since they only have (or prefer) one combination of equipment. Having the garage open up every time they die would get on anyone's nerves within minutes of playing the game.

All you need to do now if you want to change equipment without an extra death is click on the garage as soon as you die and press enter. As long as you do it before your tank disappears (something like 5 seconds, which is more than enough time), you'll open the garage and won't respawn until you close it.

You dont HAVE to change...I even stated it. How many more times must I repeat myself?

I only ever use Thunder M3. No use anyway tbh, annoying as hell

I know that! But listen to what I am actually saying:

You do HAVE to close the garage every time you die. You made the topic, you out of all people should understand this.

Dude, so what if you die one more time? That's 5 less XP or whatever. And if you're so concerned about K/D, know that we're concerned about not multing for 1 minute every time we die.

Like the person above you said, make it an option for it to open up or not

You're complaining about THAT? Really? Just two seconds is a bother to you? Please.

It's useless to have it enabled. I'm pretty sure OP will be the only one using it, and devs won't be making an update for one person  :D

In fact, even OP will turn that option off if it was added, as soon as he realises how annoying it actually is.

Well, if I'm for it, there must be others. Like the person mentioned, who may possibly approve of the idea.

Two seconds adds up. People die thousands and thousands and thousands of times in their Tanki lifetime. E.g: You have died 4 640 times. This will have added up to 9 280 seconds, or 155 minutes, or 2.6 HOURS. And you are only 3rd Lieutenant. Imagine a Generalissimo.

In addition,

That's going to be a minute of loading every time you die.

It will not be 2 seconds every time you die. It will be, for some people, 1 minute and 2 seconds. Garage loading is not instant, do you understand? So 1 minute and 2 seconds every time you have died so far. This is 80 HOURS of loading. And this is just the number of times you have died, not even as many as a high ranked player.

So your point is invalid, because it does not take "two seconds" for the garage to load. And when you add up the time, the numbers are shocking.

Well, if you read and saw an option for this, that time wouldn't exist.

Here's an easy solution to the problem.

If you've just died and plan on switching your equipment, press P. The pause menu will start and you won't respawn automatically. Then, open the garage and make your changes at your leisure. Once you're done, exit the garage, press any key/click to end the pause time, and you'll respawn.

Never thought of that XD I never use the pause button so I completely forgot it existed! lol

Yes I have read that, and it was the AverageDavelaar who suggested that, not you. I am replying to your original idea, not any other improvements suggested by others.
