With a dispirited soul, head hung low in shame, and a heavy and cold heart, I am sorry to report that...

Tanki Developers Have Killed the 10K Event

So, to put it simply, 10K is officially over. My apologies to those hoping for 10K VI. It's been a wonderful run but I think it needs to end.

Why end 10K?

10K was created as a "thank you" to the Tanki devs for creating a great update, the gold box update, which allowed generous players to support Tanki and make other players happy. However, as time went on the Tanki developers pushed their heads even further up their own asses, scraping for anything that they could find that wasn't crap. The one good update that I praised was shrouded by these abominations (some old, some new):

  • Tanki's many "balance" changes, created to shift an unpopular item into being necessary for combat, forcing players to spend more crystals.
  • Tanki added price tags on most kits, making free play much harder and payed play much more expensive.
  • By separating paint jobs from protection modules, Tanki made all players spend more crystals for less battle effectiveness.
  • By making all M3 equipment available at the rank of Marshal, Tanki crushed my hopes for future battles.
  • By creating smart cooldowns and educating their money-****es on how to use drugs, Tanki made the pay-to-win gap even wider.

Worst of all, Tanki removed the ability for non-PRO users to create battles entirely, taking away freedom of playing field of the free player. Now, paying players can not only control the field with drugs and kits, but they can control which field even exits.

Simply put, I don't want to spend money for these horrible people anymore, and I don't want to spend 5K crystals to host an event that raises popularity for them.

What happens now?

Tanki is dying, and the devs are scrapping for as much money as they can get before everyone quits. I don't feel like I've been cheated out of money -- I spent it willingly knowing that the game would die -- I just don't feel like supporting this game anymore.

I urge you, reader, to simply quit this terrible cash grab and leave this blot on free-to-play gaming's history to burn to ashes, alone and unloved, just as its wicked developers deserve.

I plead with you to spread the word. Tell everyone of 10K, and how Tanki backstabbed a player who once loved them. Spread the word past Tanki, to YouTube, reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Encourage others to leave this game, and don't gift any more money to these devs we know to be devils.

If anyone is still interested in catching crystals, on the off chance that I do log on to play, I may occasionally drop gold boxes. Who knows?

As for this thread, I will keep the summaries of previous 10K events below as fond memories.

What about the devs?

If you, reader, are a Tanki online developer or any salaried member of the Tanki Online team, my message to you is simple. You did this to yourselves. You robbed yourselves of the income that 10K was making for you. You killed an event in which children would gleefully watch golden gifts fall from the sky. You destroyed something beautiful.

I speak to you not as player to developer, but as person to person. As sentient human being to human being.

I hope you feel shame for your actions. I hope your conscience eats at you and taunts you for years. I hope you lose sleep knowing that you made a large number of people very unhappy in a futile effort to line your own pockets.

However, I doubt you will. You're already too far gone. You are a wicked, perverted, greedy person, and I shall have nothing to do with you.

As for everyone else, I can only wish you all luck with whatever you put your minds to. Goodbye.

10K I (September 14th, 2016)

I posted the battle link about 15 minutes before the selected time, and the battle absolutely exploded in popularity. I was really glad to see a whole lot of "White" paints there. It... touched my heart... that... y'all listened to me...

So first off, here's the starting roster of everyone who attended:

AlphaNinjaGirl

Viperspark

During the event, a lot of players left, and a lot of players joined, but these were the players present when the first gold was dropped.

The first gold was dropped in the middle of the arena, and quickly snatched up by railguniz4noobz. I'm not sure if I agree with his mission statement, but he grabbed the first gold, so maybe he's got something there.   ^_^

The second gold box, which dropped... somewhere... was taken by hahahahaha55555. He put on a pretty darn good show, and so he deserves to be laughing a lot.

Of course, railguniz4noobz took the third box shortly thereafter, which was surprising, since... I dunno, I thought someone else would get it.

The fourth and fifth boxes were both dropped in the same spot -- right in the middle of the arena -- and caused massive scuffles. Amazingly, they were both caught by the same player, playahmed, for the first consecutive gold box catches of the day.  :o

However, hahahahaha55555 answered back by stealing both the sixth and seventh boxes, both of which were dropped in strange places -- one was in the Indie Zone tunnel, and the other... you'll have to ask him.

Viperspark grabbed the eighth box from atop the left industrial building. I wasn't there personally, but it looked like quite a scuffle. Good job, bud!   ;)

Nearing the end of the gold box run, playahmed caught up to hahahahaha55555 with the ninth gold box, again with a massive scuffle. I don't understand how he's so good at this...

And finally, the last gold box, dropped in parts unknown, was captured by Here_Is_The_Smonky. I don't know what a "smonky" is, but I've started using it as a term for "desperate gold hunter".   ^_^

So in the end, the final gold score was:

hahahahaha55555 -- 3 gold boxes

playahmed -- 3 gold boxes

railguniz4noobz -- 2 gold boxes

Viperspark -- 1 gold box

Here_Is_The_Smonky -- 1 gold box

Even though playahmed and hahahahaha55555 were tied in number, since hahahahaha55555 captured his gold boxes first, he is the official champion of the first 10K Event!   :D

After the first 10 golds were dropped, a player called that_mario_guy followed up with a whopping 6 gold box drops! One was dropped by itself, and the other five were dropped at the same time. And I'm glad to report that I actually did catch one.   B)

The DM battle ran for a total of 60 minutes, earning a battle fund of 8,845 crystals. The winner of the match was a6732674 with a monstrous 146 kills, followed closely by Sami14_TURBOO (145 kills) and Viperspark (126 kills). All three earned well over 1000 crystals in battle winnings, so that makes up for the ones who didn't catch gold.   :P

Props to everyone for showing up. Y'all are great!

10K II (September 20th, 2016)

...So ah... yeah, 10K II was a disorganized mess. That's my fault, sorry guys.

For anyone who didn't know, 10K II was originally supposed to take place at 8PM CST on September 20th (since I had a day off from work then), however, a schedule change forced that four hours back, to 12PM CST, or midnight, which was very shortly after my work shift. Since I got off work at 11PM, I had about one hour to get 10K II ready, and... well, I was not ready.

Sleepdrunk and braindead from working 9 hours and having achieved 3 hours of sleep, I sorta shambled to my computer to start the event, and nearly fell asleep in the middle of it... so yeah... I'm very sincerely sorry for anyone who missed this event because of my shortcomings, and I'll do my best to make sure I'm more organized in the future.

So, on to the actual battle stuff!

The battle started... pretty terribly, in fact, there were only four players there to see the first gold drop, so I didn't even bother taking a list. Again, disorganized and half-asleep half-zombie... but I did manage to snap screenshots of the event, so I tracked the catchers of the first 10 gold boxes:

  1. abodii1234567890
  2. Hi_Im_Bored_PRO
  3. rexalan55
  4. abodii1234567890
  5. electrolux1
  6. I..QUEEN
  7. AshsPikachuDwij
  8. abodii1234567890
  9. GBK313
  10. abodii1234567890

Yes, I did say "first 10". After the original 10 dropped, I unleashed a 5-gold "gold bomb" for everyone, and... well, things went kinda downhill from there. Not "downhill" in a negative way, but several more golds were dropped.

Another 9 boxes were dropped by GBK313, then 4 by me, and then a double by both GBK313 and I, and then another 5-strong gold bomb by me to close out the night. The final battle fund reached 5,410, coming to a cumulative 40,410 crystals given away.

So to wrap this up (since I'm writing this and falling asleep at the same time), here's my props:

Props to Hi_Im_Bored_PRO, the creator of the battle. I honestly couldn't do it without you bro, so... thank you SO much!  ;)

Props to abodii1234567890 for catching the most gold boxes! Well, the most out of the first 10, that is... meaning you're the 10K II official champion!  :D

Props to electrolux1, for showing up from the forums! Honestly, we didn't have too many forumers, so your presence was warming.  ^_^

Props to l..QUEEN, for catching 7 (I think?) gold boxes throughout the entire night, as well as for getting the most kills in the following DM (135)!  :o

And finally, MEGA props to GBK313 for dropping 10 additional gold boxes! You're awesome! Can you... can you friend me?

If you've anything more to say about the event, post below. I'm eager to hear from y'all... once I get some sleep.  -_-

Love y'all! <3

10K III (October 4th, 2016)

Welcome to 10K III, the first 10K event to feature only 10 gold boxes drop!

Well, not really. There were 2 naturally-dropped gold boxes, but nobody else pitched in. Not complaining though.  ^_^

So first off, a list of our starters:

The first gold... wait, hang on...

The first gold was caught by POLAT1_GTi, who also subsequently caught the second gold... so... great start? This guy's a real smonky. :P

However, despite there being explosions everywhere, the third gold box was easily stolen by ExplosionsEverywhere, in a mad scuffle that involved several tanks (including myself) being flipped over.

CoolestGuy16, who actually did turn out to be a pretty cool guy, grabbed the fourth box, which was out in the corner of the field. Kinda hard to get there for a slow-ass Viking like me. I could only watch...  :(

And then, out of nowhere, NewbieCupcake came flying down from the rooftops to snatch the fifth gold box. Pretty acrobatic for a Dictator/Isida combo, I'd say.  :D

The sixth gold box was very much in my reach, but I let smarty147 take it instead... because I'm a baws like that.  B)

And, well... then a "normal" gold box dropped. Which was kinda weird, but still really cool. NewbieCupcake caught that one as well, but it doesn't count towards his score in the event.

The lucky seventh box and the crazy eighth box were grabbed (again) by CoolestGuy16, and again, I could only watch as my precious crystals were snatched away from me...  -_-

Always the tryhard smonky, NewbieCupcake came in to take the ninth box. This one wasn't even difficult, he simply drove onto the sea of tanks and won.

And to top it off, POLAT1_GTi ended the event with the final gold box grab. Yeah, there wasn't much of a competition in this one.

Another "normal" gold dropped after the event, but I couldn't tell who got it. Sorry...

So, the final 10K score (excluding the "normal" boxes) was:

  1. CoolestGuy16 (3)
  2. POLAT1_GTi (3)
  3. NewbieCake (2)
  4. ExplosionsEverywhere (1)
  5. smarty147 (1)

And again, since CoolestGuy16 grabbed his three golds first, he's the official 10K III champion!

Shoutout time!

Props to my friend electrolux1, for yet again showing up at the event! I love seeing you there, bro.  ^_^

Props (again) to CoolestGuy16, for not only catching a ton of golds, but recording the event for his YouTube channel, the first ever recorded 10K event!  :o

Props to NewbieCake for catching the first "normal" gold box. That was pretty awesome!  :D

Props to EternaI_SorrowPOLAT1_GTi, and electrolux1 for gaining the top 3 scores in the following DM (200, 130, and 124 respectively). EternaI_Sorrow gained over 2,000 crystals, with the runners-up gaining over 1,000.  ;)

The total crystal amount for 10K III was 12 gold boxes (12,000 crystals) plus a battle fund of 9,505 crystals, totaling to 21,505 crystals!

Love y'all, take care!

10K IV (October 14th, 2016)

Just a side note... no more emoticons. Apparently there's a maximum that you can have in one post, and I've exceeded it...  :(

I think I'm getting a bit better at scheduling events, since we had quite a large forum-based turnout this time around!

So, on with the details. I haven't a starting roster this time, but I do have a roster of those who stuck around till the end of the event, so... good enough?

I don't remember how many were wearing orange paint, but I did see quite a few, so... yey.

Exactly 46 seconds after the specified time, a player by the name of shresthkhandelwal (who didn't stay for the entire 60 minutes) caught the first gold box in a scuffle. Yeah, there were a lot of scuffles here... Stadium isn't really a great map for gold boxes.

The second gold box, heavily scuffled for and easily visible to all, was caught by orange-painted forumer AshsPikachuDwij... who also didn't stay for the full 60 minutes...

And, well... things started to go haywire from there. The amazingly-talented (I think?) Marshal-86 leaped off one of the side boundary walls onto a massive sea of tanks (of which I was a member) to snatch the corner of the third gold box. I was a bit upset, since I was this close to getting it, but... eh, blame it on the lag, I guess.

Following the destruction of the aforementioned sea of tanks near the boundary wall thanks to some drugged Thunder players, the fourth box was taken by Georgian_Bomber (another leaver), and being on the other side of the map, all I could do was snipe players in hopes of ruining someone's day.

The fifth gold box dropped on the complete opposite side of the map, which was then picked up by L.I.I3.3.I2.T.Y quite easily. Again, I could only snipe players (which I actually did to bArCa_SuCks just as he was going for the gold)...

And well, the sixth box dropped practically right on top of my little sniping nest! I did a pretty good job at hiding the drop zone with my Viking, but apparently not good enough a job for thunderousrailgunner, who hopped on my head and snatched the box out of my grasp...

The seventh box dropped on, again, the opposite side of the map. As you can probably tell, I didn't feel like moving, since I decided to stay in that same sniper nest the whole time, taking out AshsPikachuDwij in time for Georgian_Bomber to grab a second gold box. Sorry bruv... but that's how the game goes.

Cuadro de número ocho (thank you, Google Translate) dropped only a few feet from my sniper's nest, but I decided to be that lazy jerk and again kill people going for it. After an absolutely massive pile-up, the box was taken by loyal forumer and diligent smonky... electrolux1. Woot woot!

The ninth box dropped in almost the same location, so the only logical choice was to go for it... which wasn't really logical since I ended up getting killed, and the box stolen by bArCa_SuCks.

And, fitting as it was, the last box dropped in the center of the map. I actually had a really close shot at this one, but AshsPikachuDwij managed to get atop the pile and take the final gold... just moments before I rammed my railgun up his exhaust port and let him have it.

So, after ten golds, the final gold count is as follows:

  1. Georgian_Bomber (2)
  2. AshsPikachuDwij (2)
  3. shresthkhandelwal (1)
  4. Marshal-86 (1)
  5. L.I.I3.3.I2.T.Y (1)
  6. thunderousrailgunner (1)
  7. electrolux1 (1)

...Wow, that's the most gold catchers we've ever had! Maybe Stadium isn't such a bad map after all...

And, as you can see, I've already arranged them in order of who caught the most golds first. Since there were only two players who caught two golds, and Georgian_Bomber caught his two before AshsPikachuDwji (mostly because of me), Georgian_Bomber is the 10K IV champion!

(Also, just as a little special thingy, previous 10K champions will have their names colored in gold whenever mentioned in future 10K events)

The DM battle raged on (I use that term loosely, it was more of a slaughter) for about 25 minutes after the last gold had dropped, however... I had a little surprise left over, which turned out to be a 5-box gold bomb! Dropped at the 20-minute mark, the gold bomb boxes were quickly picked up... so quickly that I can't tell you who got 'em, in fact. Sorry for that...

L.I.I3.3.I2.T.Y also dropped a bonus box after the gold bomb, which was a huuuge surprise! Thanks so much sir!

...Again, I didn't see who got it, since... I'm kinda dumb that way...

Ehh... time for mad props!

Props to haha_Sparks and Yisroel.Rabin, my two Fieldmarshals who were gonna make the battles. I know that Yisroel.Rabin was supposed to make it, but haha_Sparks was the actual creator, so ah... y'know, thanks to both of y'all!

(I dunno why haha_Sparks didn't show up... I invited him and told him there was golds, but... eh...)

Props to CoolestGuy16, our previous 10K champion, who showed up briefly here today and actually recorded the event! He's stated that he won't be posting the footage, however... which is kinda sad, but... again, thanks!

Props to delnina2, electrolux1, AshsPikachuDwija6732674, and anyone else who showed up because of the forums and/or participated in previous events. Y'all are a great inspiration to me, thanks so much!

Props to L.I.I3.3.I2.T.Y for dropping a gold box! I always love it when that happens.

And finally, props to Marshal-86, tankerkuldeep, and delnina2 (again), the winners of the DM battle with 196 kills, 135 kills, and 129 kills respectively. Marshal-86 earned over 3000 crystals, and the other two well over 1500.

The entire battle fund was 11,483 crystals... our largest fund yet! Combined with the 16,000 in gold boxes, that adds 27,483 crystals to our total fund!

Thanks to everyone who showed up, and I hope to see you later... take care!

10K V (October 29th, 2016)

Who even uses spoilers for their intended use anyway? Jeez...

So, 10K V happened, and it was a pretty well-anticipated and well-received event, with the Halloween DM going from 0 to full in literally 3 minutes, the fastest a 10K battle has ever filled up.

As always, here's a list of our starters:

Cortana

eskimofriend

OMARSOUSY

Jwimmer

10K V was the first to have a pre-time gold drop, with boxes by AlphaNinjaGirl and GBK313 (who showed up at some point during the battle) caught by Jwimmer and Cortana respectively. They don't count as actual 10K boxes though.

The first actual 10K box was actually dropped a tad late (because I had to respawn) and was caught by fightermalikio20115. Just a side note, I can't actually drop gold if I'm dead, so if you kill me you're just hurting yourself.

Second box was dropped and gladly received by Jwimmer, who was using a Dictator and thus was able to sit in the middle of the giant fray that took place and snatch it out of the air. This map was very open and there were a LOT of scuffles on this map.

Cortana, the drugging and killing Smoky and Smonky, caught the third gold box after, again, a massive scuffle. He was promptly bombed out of existence by OMARSOUSY just moments later.

The fourth box didn't drop very far from the third, and thus the slower-moving hulls with lots of remaining health, such as eskimofriend's Titan, were the only tanks remaining to capture it.

The fifth box, however, dropped quite a ways away from the middle of the arena, and a quick search around the arena's edge by a6732674 proved fruitful. He actually made it back to the center to jump on top of a massive pile and catch the sixth box, the first consecutive capture of the night.

Just as I'd begun to start the seventh drop, GBK313 showed up and dropped a box of his own. While his box was taken by Cortana, the actual 10K box was taken by... ironically, GBK313. I'd say that was a fair distraction.

From here on out, GBK313 (in an effort I can only assume to out-gold me) kept dropping boxes after mine, which made it a bit difficult to judge the actual 10K winners. However, it wasn't a surprise to anyone that Cortana took the eighth and ninth 10K drops, with mbilal and a6732674 receiving GBK313's.

And as if enough gold hadn't dropped already, a normal gold box actually dropped between #9 and #10. Since that'd never actually happened before, I elected to hold off on the 10th box until the natural one had been caught, and it was caught easily by a (now very rich) a6732674.

The last 10K gold was taken by OMARSOUSY (followed immediately by delnina2 taking a GBK313 box), which rounded the final score up to:

  1. Cortana (4)
  2. a6732674 (2)
  3. fightermalikio20115 (1)
  4. Jwimmer (1)
  5. GBK313 (1)
  6. OMARSOUSY (1)

Cortana demolished the competition, catching 4 10K boxes easily (and many more that night), easily earning the title of 10K V champion!

From there on the battle descended into gold-dropping madness, with me releasing a 5-gold bomb, followed be GBK313 and I dropping golds simultaneously throughout the rest of the evening. In the end, the drop count was Angie 23, GBK313 20, and the Tanki gods dropping 5, totaling out to 48 gold boxes!!

And out of all those boxes, I only managed to catch one... and I had help from delnina2, so... yes, I'm a terrible gold hunter.

The battle fund raised totaled out to 7935 crystals, with (unsurprisingly) Cortana taking 3338 of them with a whopping 224 kills. OMARSOUSY and eskimofriend, tied with 98 kills each, earned nearly 1000 in battle fund crystals.

Shoutout to Cortana for making the battle in the first place, and for doing awesome that night. I'm sure he's now a very rich tanker.

Shoutout to GBK313 for dropping a ton of golds! Seriously, it made the event way more fun.

Shoutout to delnina2, a6732674BlackWasp777, Jwimmer, and all my friends and forumers who showed up!

Love y'all, hope you have a great day, hope you can forgive me for being late to everything, etc. Take care!

Are these only for high rankers? No, but it will be less common for low rankers.

And do you need a PRO pass? Idk.

I agree, Polygon and Massacre are good maps for golds. Yep.

I say Polygon or Massacre would be great maps

I kind of expected results like this.

Massacre would be great, but I'm going to try and move away from the "standard" maps such as Polygon. The first 10K was on Industrial Zone, mainly because it was easy to recognize from the lobby and was a unique and underused map.

Ahh, no. I'm paying for the gold, I make the decisions here, bud. You can go organize your own event.

No, the battles are not only for high rankers. I expect to have an even balance of low-ranked events, mid-ranked events, and high-ranked events.

For the high-ranked events, PRO pass might become mandatory, since the abuse of drugs is going to hamper the gameplay.

I don't quite understand what I did wrong. I was just asking some questions about the topic. (I also one answered myself, after doing a bit of research.)

So I don't really see what you are talking about. You are coming across as quite rude, especially in the PM you sent me.

ok yeah I kinda figured that would be the reaction to Polygon. how about Rift .I love that map but I rarely ever see it . or Gukubaka (also a great way under played map)

I believe that for the 10k event, rarer maps should be chosen.. it's just simply more fun to find the drop zone in them. I personally think Berlin would be quite awesome, but only problem is is that Berlin can host a ton of people.

I don't quite understand what I did wrong. I was just asking some questions about the topic. (I also one answered myself, after doing a bit of research.)

So I don't really see what you are talking about. You are coming across as quite rude, especially in the PM you sent me.

Ah... I thought you were trying to add on to the FAQ in the original post, as though you were an event coordinator. I've had a couple people pretend to be part of the 10K team before, so I'm a bit wary.

My apologies.

I thin you should add rio  or serpuhov

Can I join?

Rio and Serpuhov are rather popular maps for CTF players -- players who primarily prefer CP or DM battles won't have the same drop zone knowledge, which gives CTF players an unfair advantage.

I'd rather play on maps that aren't really well-known, leveling the playing field.

And you don't have to ask to join. Just make sure you're there when the event starts. That's really all there is to it. ;)

Rift . Atra . Forrest . Courage? (now that's a rare map. I don't think I've ever seen but maybe 1 Courage battles)

Factory, Subway, Iran (although that's not rare), Tribute?

Oh, don't worry.
