"Save the Gold" game mode

Oh well, I apologize if this was posted before in this section, because I did search, but still, yea.

 

So, what with an STG with some pretty famous players and moderators stopped by a spectator and some of the participants banned and temporarily blocked recently, and the new STG policy following that, I think an STG format is really needed now, as do many others. Now obviously it'll be a PRO format.

 

Here's how this will work: the parameters are following:

 

  • Microupgrades: Decidable
  • Gold Boxes: Yes, obviously - not changeable
  • Boxes: Decidable
  • Supplies: Yes - not changeable
  • Smart Supplies: No - not changeable
  • Private: Decidable, but I honestly don't know if it should be a yes or be decidable.
  • Autobalance: OFF - not changeable
  • Autofinish: Decidable - I'll leave this to the developers if this is accepted.
  • Mode: Any except Deathmatch. 
  • Weapon change: ON, not changeable

 

All right, here's further detail:

 

At the start, the attacking and defending teams are chosen. Then, there could be a few possibilities decidable by the developers if accepted:

 

  • Free gold box only for the battle is given to the creator or some defender, who can place it himself to where ever in the defending team's proximity he likes. OR,
  • A gold box is dropped by a player who has the gold box before the STG or bought during STG can place it in the defending team, OR:
  • A server dropped gold box is farmed and it must drop within a certain fund, and it will only drop in the defending team's proximity.

And finally, the major things that make it secure from raiders who steal the golds and ruin STGs, while also curing the problems that could arise with the format:

 

  • The defenders can never take the gold during the course of the STG, so even if they enter the gold, it won't be collected.
  • The attackers cannot take the gold till the defenders announce the go after placement of mines. 
  • The defenders cannot be killed till they announce the go.
  • The defenders cannot "hold" themselves from announcing a go after the mines are placed. There could be a set limit to how many mines can be placed - and after these are placed and both teams are in their bases, the defenders must announce the go, or even better, the server could itself start the battle.
  • The attackers cannot blow the mines till the go - and they cannot be killed either, but they can drive till a certain limit to plan strategies, beyond which they cannot pass till the go. Obviously they can change equipment, so can the defenders.
  • Both teams can also self destruct without loss of mines, at least till the go. 

So there you go, an STG format that could cure most of the problems in normal STGs! I understand if it cannot be done in TO but I do hope it can make it to TX. :)

Smart cooldowns for mines should be OFF.

During the setup phase: (10 mins?):

The attacking side will be in "pre-spawn" mode - that is when they are a ghost tank hopping up and down. They will see a message "Attack will commence in XX:XX minutes; please wait." The spawning will take place at the furthest points from the gold spot. This would prevent spying and "accidental discharge" of weapons. When the setup time expires or at least 75% of the defenders type in the command /go or whatever command the developers decide, then the battle begins with whatever parameters are set for a battle.

 

Equipment: the attacking side cannot spawn unless properly equipped with only the following equipment allowed.- i.e. wasp/hornet + fire/freeze/hammer/isida/smoky. Defending side has no such restrictions.

Pls, spying is encouraged to plan ahead for the attackers :p and let the developers decide restrictions. Of course mine cooldowns must be turned off as in parkour, but I think the defense should have the ability to commence the battle themselves. Same at the end - the attackers aren't instantly ejected but they cannot stay for more than like five minutes or so. 

 

Plus there needs to be some way of preventing abusing the system so the format isn't used for free golds without battling for them or purchasing them.

Pls, spying is encouraged to plan ahead for the attackers :P and let the developers decide restrictions. Of course mine cooldowns must be turned off as in parkour, but I think the defense should have the ability to commence the battle themselves. Same at the end - the attackers aren't instantly ejected but they cannot stay for more than like five minutes or so. 

 

Plus there needs to be some way of preventing abusing the system so the format isn't used for free golds without battling for them or purchasing them.

Spectator view straight above the spot where they are waiting to spawn might be possible.

I don't like how the Micro Upgrade Perimeters allow to Upgrade to this "M4", that's when Turrets MU'ed to "M4" become too OP. Can someone here tell me how to make my own PRO Battle in the RU2 Server? I hate Druggers!

Oh, and when the gold is captured it automatically ejects all players from the attacking side thus leaving the battle fund for the defending side to compensate for their mass use of supplies.

Because the attacking side doesn't use their double armors and speed boosts like crazy? because the attacking side's KDs now suck? No bro if anything, the defending side should be kicked. But better yet, they just fight it out! And even better yet, the battle ends right there and the fund is given based on who on the attacking side took out the most mines and who took the gold and on the defending side how much time they lasted without it getting taken. Also, I think because of this, the funds should be like x5 or something big like that to compensate for all of their mass use of supplies
