Buying system

I've not checked and verified the numbers claimed above, but there is an existing discrepancy in prices for sure.  And the reason for that is just international economics.

The game's house is in Russia, its banks, lawyers, facilities, employees, taxes, etc ... all in Russia.  And a huge chunk of their customers from Russia as well.  Whenever these guys buy something in the game, they pay the local prices, just like you would for buying anything in your own country.  So far so good

Now for the rest of us not in Russia (or neighboring countries with strong ties and economics deeply interwoven with Russia's) , we have to go through an international monetary transaction system to buy anything in that game.  And that involves our banks sending our order through its payments aggregator / service provider and they deal with the middle guys (paypal, google wallet and such) and then these guys deal with the other intermediary companies in between and then it goes to the transaction services providers of Tanki's banks and then it finally gets to tanki's bank account.

^ That long process happens electronically and in mere seconds, hence why we often forget about it, but nevertheless that's how it works.  And along that chain, EVERYBODY wants their cut on the transaction.  When you add all that up the price has already increased rather significantly and wait, doesn't stop there !!  Now tanki also has to pay other taxes on these foreign incomes as required by Russian laws and tax policies and probably that's at this point that cedric will come and say "hey where's my 1 cent in that?"

^ That last bit was of course a joke, but, you get an idea of how long a payment chain can be.  And each of these services along that line has their own charges, and all these add up and we have a big discrepancy.

Another factor is currently Russia's economy is being boosted internally, check the news, and a lot of these service charges that russian locals would have suffered from, or rather bear the cost of, have been lowered, and that's another factor to consider in these discrepancy.

TL;DR :  Always costs more to buy when its done on an international scale involving international intermediaries.

WTH!!!!

I just checked payment section. Russians can get crystals almost 2x cheaper than europeans!

100 000+100 000 bonus costs 49.99 euro

150 000+225 000 bonus costs 41.82 euro.

Why so huge difference? And is there any way how i can buy crystals as russian? I have MasterCard :D

Special pain for russians cost under 7 euros but for europeans it costs 14 euros!

It seems that this community only care about paying money instead of earning stuff with hardwork.

I don't think that statement is accurate- many players in the community (here, at least) complain about updates favoring buyers. There was a row about the prices of certain paints being increased after the separation update, and there currently is a row about large supply kits being turned into a shop-only item.

Really, as long as the developers take care to not give buyers too many perks or make things too difficult for the rest of us, buying crystals is welcome, since it's practically their only source of income. If nobody bought crystals, they'd run out of money and have to shut down.

No wonder why is Tanki most hardcore pay to win game

There are FAR worse examples. For example, the free-to-play game "Uberstrike" is ridiculously pay-to-win. There is little to no separation of players by rank, so rookies with terrible equipment will be swamped by buyers with horrifyingly overpowered weapons and armor. It takes ages to save up for equipment only marginally better than the starters, and they have a system to rent everything (not just select items).

That's not to say that Tanki's system is perfect, nor does this vindicate every single action the developers do, but we have it pretty good here, relatively speaking.

Alright, back on topic. As far as I know, Russian players have had lower crystal prices for quite a while, if not from the beginning. I'm not exactly sure why this is the case- perhaps they have a large enough market or different buying trends so that lowering the prices for the Russian community would be more profitable (similar to how popular grocery stores often have lower prices), but then again I'm not an expert on economics.

I'm also not sure how the payment system recognizes your account. Maybe it looks at what country you registered in- in that case, you wouldn't really be able to do anything. Or maybe it looks at your IP address. But anyhow circumventing the payment system doesn't seem like a good idea.

but the big question

is it legal to buy from other country's?

or can you get banned or something?

What about Malta?

EULA says that Tanki Online Europe Ltd is registered under the laws of Malta. There are certainly expenses at Malta, such as e.g. corporate tax, right?

That is a load of crap tho. There are no such thing as international fees. Payment processors do charge per transaction, but the top price for that is 8%, not 50%(paypal, google, visa etc). Yes, VAT for international sales is higher at 25% vs 18% in local. And now we come to point where EVERYTHING you wrote DOES not matter as:

And here we go. I have company there aswell, it's tax heaven. 5% dividend tax, no corporate taxes, no VAT - therefor, all that talk about ''economics'' is just a way to get people to pay more.

And, let's talk about loophole aswell. If I use Russian ISP I get charged russian prices, not hard to setup qiwi or payeer account for that. This is proper racism by Tanki. But I didn't expect less, this is russian owned company.

And have you considered the fact that Russian economy is way too weak? When everything is converted to dollars, an average American earns a lot more than an average Russian. I understand this issue since it's close to home. Most American players I know wouldn't mind spending 5-10$ on the game. Converted to my currency (That is, Indian Rupees) that comes out to be around 400-700 INR. My parents would never let me spend that amount on online micro transactions. I'm sure if Alternativa was a multinational corporation with millions of dollars as their turnover, they would tweak prices for individual economies so as to cater to all players fairly. But, as the case stands, some players (especially Asian and African) do end up paying a fortune. Even then, comparing our prices to Russians and calling it racism is really baseless. All businesses everywhere charge more for international trading, selling, tourism, etc as compared to local services.
