Watch ads to get rewards

Guys, it seems like you don't understand how this is going to work if it were to be implemented.

What will simply happen is somewhere (separate button or incorporated into the existing features like missions) there will be a link you can click named something like "Watch an ad for a daily reward!". You would click it and it would send you to an extrenal website which would play a video and after you finished it you will get a small amount of crystals or supplies. And it won't be annoying in any way:

  • There is no reason why "battles will be miserable". The ads will not pop up in-game or in any way distract players from battle.
  • If you hate ads - don't watch them. Simple as that.
  • You can only collect the reward once a day. Impossible to abuse the system by watching ads the whole time.
  • Please don't criticise an idea by saying it will lag and cause glitches. We don't know how developers will handle this, so just assuming that an update won't work as it should is false.

To implement ads that can only be used one per day only giving what? 100 crystals would be a waste of the dev's time. This game doesn't need ads.

Well if you say it will work than I trust you. Its just that there is always a side effect when updates happen. I can no longer purchase stuff in battle or I lose my crys. I can no longer change equipment cause the garage won't let me unless I self destruct. More lags in the game. Stuff like that make me unsure and other people too probably about the ad update.

not necessarily

... besides, as if this weren't a laggy game already

You can watch the advert while waiting for the game to load that's for sure a win-win situation, such an opportunity here & a brilliant idea.

Well, that's the point lol it's already lagfest

but how will it cause lag? it takes majority of power from client. (If person uses client.)

Well, maybe  - But again I don't like the idea of ads even being thought of in tanki not for rewards not anything - Ads shouldnt even be thought of ! good grief!

Under review

[ecnm] [ftr]

Developers are against adding advertisements to their game, but I suppose if watching the ad is voluntary and no-intrusive then this does have a chance to be implemented.

I'd much rather have nonintrusive ads in tanki than, say, only free players losing access to affordable drugs...

Optional ads sounds like a great idea.  Really small rewards (adjusted for rank) would do the trick. It would give Tanki more revenue so they wouldn't feel as pressured to give buyers more advantages. We could put this in the Daily Missions Tab so everyone would have an additional mission "Watch Advertisement" Reward 90 crystals or 2 supplies for mid-rankers, etc.

++ absolutely agree with this pro idea

many mobile games already have this feature, though as mafioso said, there is system for "1ad per day only" in other games, but this can be easily implemented.

though that in turn may cause arguments between alterniva and the companies which display their ads....
