Do you think that turrets/hulls will become balanced with this update?

If anyone tried the test server, please leave feedback here. :)

 

Has Isida really been nerfed terribly?

Test server does not feature anything related to Re-Balance ATM.

Let me tell you my thoughts. Of after the update the game become tedious, I'll move to another tanks game. There is another tanks games. Actually there is better ones. ;)

Sad but true! And the list can continue!

 

But...some day, when you will be a big boy :),  you will understand why this is called "rebalance" and why was necessary... :D

If you can't wait to grow up :), then I will tell you now, quoting what Hazel-Rah said at another update some time ago (I hope you know who is Hazel-Rah ;)): "We have balls to do that. Period."  ...So nice!  :D

Fingers crossed to see wht the devs have in plan AFTER they introduce this rebalace

Might explain why there was a need for a sudden rebalance

probably something to do with the Upcoming Missle and Artillery turrets (probs next year )

I think the only reason for the complete rebalance is, that they want to sell their alternations.

 

 

 

With old smoky only a few pilots stated, they would get the assault amunition and sacrifice their critical hit.

Now the critical hit is still here and powerfull - but only on large distances. Now the Alternation makes sense.

 

See Firebird.. it's rebelenced heatup rate was cut in half (it will take now 2x as long to send a tank into the same amount of afterburn damage). But thanks to the game designers we have an alternation, that can cure that. Comes very handy, that the alternation doubles the energy consumption; while the rebalance ~doubles it again.

 

An Railgun can now still 2shot-kill a hornet and Wasp.. but, after rebalance, there is a chance (roughly 20%) that the wasp or hornet survives. But - tataa! - the railgunner can purchase the alternation that makes his shots damage more constant; and this kills Wasps and Hornets in 2 shots again.

 

 

 

The rebalance opens up the room to make alternations worth to be purchased (aka more crystals to be spent).

that is exactly what i was thinking. Tey are doing this just to sell Alterations! Next they will introduce Hull Alterations that make the hulls more "unique" by giving them more armor for sacrificing speed or turning speed or less arnor for more speed

^at the moment they wrote, that hull alternations are not planned (source, tanki wiki, the page with the alternations).

But I think they will come. It will take some time until the turret alternations are fully rolled out and tweaked.. but I think that hull alternations will be the next step.

2) A "Balance by Tanki" like this one does usually not ruin the game, it changes the game.

In this rebalance they have done some good stuff too, like they do in most rebalances.

Few players complain about those things that are truely improving the game.. they are upset by chagnes that

- do not improove the balance-of-power, but do take away your stuff or your fun

(as far as I saw in their comments)

 

The game continues.. it is more a question of

  • how much fun do they take out, thats does not needed to be taken out?

    (example: agility of Wasps and Hornets. Not max speed, I mean agility.

  • will the balance of power be better then before? Do they reach it clever or just by making more and more turrets and hulls the same?
  • how many injustified changes to they introduce (like swapping not some, but almost all hunters and Vikings stats, and thereby not tweaking/balancing the hulls but literaly exchanging them.. which again leaves one better then the other = inbalanced)
  • do they sacrifice (again) diversity, fun, balance-of-power and unique gameplay of turrets and hulls for the sake of -> "we want an equal amount of hours-used for each turret through over the community", because this is what they call "balance" ?

 

I am sure you already know, that this is a game where players invest time to get something they desire (gear, rank). So the perception of a rebalances is usually better if things are "tweaked" instead of "ripped of their intial characteristics you loved them for" (and I dont talk about OP damage). Tweaking is fine and players get used to.. while changing fundamental characteristics the players love their turrets and hulls for, feels like betrayel, robbery, or both.

This is totally gonna ruin tanki. Twins is getting a Big buff . So is Thunder and Freeze. Twins is the last thing that needs a big buff. While Railgun is getting a HUUUUUGGGGGEEE nerf. Seriously.ill be lucky if my Railgun M2 can 1 shot a M0 Hornet !!

Agree with you that twins did not need a buff, but thunder and freeze did, and thunder's damage was lowered.  Railgun is not getting a nerf.  Now it reloads in 3 seconds-played with it on the test server and it was very good against other turrets.  This makes railgun less OP in large maps and more competitive in small maps, adding more balance and variety.

I have never seen a re-balance which brings perfect balance, like on any game.

pls note that diversity and balance are two different things.

I could create a tankgame with 10 turrets, all perfectly balanced as noone is overpowered.

But 90% would run a single turret (low diversity).

Why? BEcause I advertise this game for boys, and I paint 9 out of 10 turrets pink... so guess what the boys will buy...

 

Balance is not diversity.

 

Tanki tries to solve hull-diversity-issues with un-balancing hulls (their proposed hunter is simply better then their proposed viking).

Hulls have to stay balanced in respect of "battlefield power"; but shall be diverse in other terms. The less "clearly prefferable" single tanks are, the more diverse the gameplay will be.

LOL you didn't realize that the test server was open for everyone over the weekend?

 

I will talk the way I want too-I admit they are doing some things wrong but some things in the update i like.  The game WAS unbalanced.  And what makes you think the game has been "Ruined"?  WHat specifically?  I did test drives of the new hulls and tried them all out in battle-overall gameplay was almost the same, except maybe for the XP/BP battles.

Keep in mind that becuase hornet and wasp are more popular, that doesn't mean they are better.  It's also psychology, most people like being the "fast but less armored" type in games.

It's a shame. I have bigger things to worry about these days but it is nice to relax and play here every once in a while. I feel cheated with this update because I spent months saving for equipment that will now be made weaker. I will no longer have what I paid for (in time and crystals) so to me that is deception. I have lost all enthusiasm. I will no longer have the time to save that many crystals again and in addition to this the battles only get more one sided the higher I rank... so the enjoyment is lost. My friends haven't been online in months so I guess everyone has lost enthusiasm for this game. They finally made isida more weak but it is too little too late.

Which particular combo did you use?  I agree with you that tanki is cheating players, and i'm sorry, but any combo that was made weaker should have been.

1) I played it on the weekend on the testserver, and tried the equipment and hulls I am used to, or that I was concerned about.

2+3) disqualifies you as discussion partner.. so I see no more reasons to continue talking to you.

yeah but say someone is using a 50% module against you and you have M2 railgun. That is 56 damage at most.....
