Damage to maps, destructible terrain

BOOOMM!!!!!

That's what you hear a lot, right? You know...explosions? Yet anything within the vicinity of said explosion is left without a scratch.

Well, why not have damage appear on the maps after a certain amount of damage has been applied? Say 100 points of damage will leaves holes in buildings, little craters in the ground and bridges will wear away a little? Nothing major...I man..TO runs on FLASH of all things. Lag would be increased during the time the damage takes place, but nothing major im sure, but would make the battle feel more intense...maybe trees fall down?, holes blown in walls that would have been used for cover?

Who knows? Tis just a little idea.

This is a common idea and developers are aware of it. Unfortunately it's extremely unlikely that this will ever happen in TO, but it's definitely a possibility for TX. I mean, we already have supply boxes which explode into pieces, so why not have similar effects with terrain? We'll see.

plus the tanks become fire engulfed infernos! The turrets even fly off!

Why every thing for TX Why?? im sorry to say but i positively dont like TX.

If you could rather add the "Good" Updates in tanki it will be better rather than merging all good ones to TX

You go into a battle, when you come out the map should look horrific. After all you did just have a war with Tanks using the finest bullets and many Tanks being destroyed, not a tea part. Tanki should make more damage to maps.

To put it simply. (As far as i know) Flash player just cannot do stuff like that

Flash alone cannot even construct a 3D environment. Alternativa made a framework called Alternativa3D which is used for making 3D environments in Flash. If they could build that, they can build anything :P

Instead of buildings falling apart like in Battlefield 1 why not whenever you shoot a gun at an object the color of that object throws

this dust or debris forward to the direction it was shot at.

Only Thunder, Railgun, Shaft, Smoky, Hammer, and Vulcan should be able to do this effect though.

Twins and Ricochet would just throw this plasma energy.

Sir. Firefox sucks ,use Microsoft Edge instead

Now how could he do that without Windows 10, think about that.

Windows Edge was designed only to replace Internet Explorer and was only made for Windows 10 and some day higher.

It would bring the game to a new startegic level if you would change some ramps, walls, bridges or other map components to destroyable.

E.g.:

- some of the ramps on a map would have 10000 HP. If its health would go to zero then the  ramp is destroyed and cannot be used

- independently from the team color (red/blue) the hits to the ramp would reduce the HP of the ramp

- the ramp could be repairable by an isida - if there is no tank standing on it - before the ramp is destroyed.

- once it is destroyed it can be rebuilt by isida with e.g. 5000HP healing.

Concerning the implementation: I hope you could use the same code components that manage the HP of a tank, so these special ramps would turn into special tanks.

Imagine how would this look like in the battles. Isida healing the ramp? Isn't this little bit crazy. Beside that how  could we destroy ramps? Directly shooting into them or what? All this would look really, really weird.

No...

Think of ramps in Noise and Madness.

Certainly not all ramps should be destroyable. It is the task of the map designer to decide which ramps in which map worth to have this ability.

I think it would not look more crazy than isida heals a tank today.

Yes, you would shoot the ramp direcly to damage it. This is how bridges are destroyed by planes in real wars.

Not good idea. It could make terrific lag

Although I do not know the internal structure of the system but I guess it will not increase lagging on the following reasons:

- 2-3 special ramps on a map surely does not cause more overhead than 2-3 additional tanks.

- ramps would be server managed tanks, they are not controlled by players, they do not act at all, so the synchronization is simpler.

- ramps are not moving, so they cannot have such kind of lags. Did you ever see a standing tank lagging? Only the destruction and reappearance timing might be a bit different from player to player, which would not be too disturbing I guess.
