How to manage clueless teammates

 Share

Recommended Posts

So I just got out of a game on my alt, where 1 member took actions that lost an extremely tight game for us. The score was tied, and each team had the other team's flag. Our flag carrier died, and a m1 titan + shaft managed to pick up the flag. I figured that, since he had an isida near, he was good hanging out in cover, so I started to go to the other base to try and return. A few seconds later, I looked back, and he was driving to his sniping location, carrying the flag, in plain view. He was seemingly oblivious to the fact that he had the flag in such a tight battle. After about 30 seconds, the other team easily returned the flag, and we lost the game.

My question is: what do you do about people like this? Most of the time, they (clueless people) don't use chat, don't rotate their turrets, get in the way, and don't know how to drop the flag. There's nothing that I have found to deal with teammates like this, so I am wondering if anyone else has a method for dealing with the problem.

Noobs and noobism is not bannable.

Not even remotely close to what I am saying. Let me clarify. What can I do in real-time that will help solve the problem of having clueless people in my team? I know that being a noob is bannable, and sabotage can be filmed, but it does not help during the game itself.

I know that would not help in your situation, but I would usually flip that guy over and steal his flag. If possible.

No, noobism isn't bannable. Sabotage is, though.

Change the battle. And no, being a noob is not bannable. Edited by Phoenix.Raised

Really??? This game is MOSTLY about VERY young kids not speaking a word of English. What do you expect? They come, buy everything, learn to press numbers and that it is. Not checking flags, not checking time, not checking team mates. Just run towards the other side full drugs on. You are my same rank: I am surprised what happened to you is not "just another usual loss of time"!

You sometimes forget that not all low-ranking tankers are a Gen on an alt account. I, too, rage at the ineptness of the lower ranks. But remember, you had to start somewhere, too. Just laugh it off with the knowledge you entered the battle with real noobs and not some sabotaging high-ranker.

At low ranks it happens almost always, even when you know that 50% of players are seasoned players using an "alt" account. At higher ranks like mine, playing team battles is still frustrating since no one care if you have low health, your teammates will not let you take any supply (specially when you use Mammoth all the time) They like to see how you get closer to a repair kit just to take it one second before than you. Today I was playing a PRO Hill CTF, we have to capture 70 flags, we reached 61 when suddenly one of our teammates left and someone else joined. The guy who joined wrote "go go red team" (opposing forces). He did not let us get any flag and we could not do nothing. We lost a 90 min battle thanks to someone called Broak_Lesnar, who then joined again as Vasimaris_Turbo. The best is to be in a clan or something like that where you can trust in your team and you know each other role. Or simply play DM battles...

Unless they understand English and are willing to listen, there's no way to manage the noobs. The only consolation is that in some future battle the noob, or someone of similar ability to the aforementioned noob, will be in the enemy team.

I bet they all know ENGLISH, but they just don't care...

Although i will admit that i have ran to the enemy base when i was holding the flag and no one was doing anything to return our flag. I have succeeded in kling enemy flag carrier and returning the flag and still making the cap a few times .but most of the time i get as far as killing the guy with our flag and returning it but losing their flag in the process

Change the battle. And no, being a noob is not bannable.

The thing with this situation (and one that happens every so often) is that I was first place on my team, with about 600 xp points. If I leave, that's all wasted xp. And anyways, it was a very competitive game. I'm not going to leave a great game because a noob joined last minute.

Not true at all. While clueless, most likely young, tankers do come up every so often, the completely clueless ones only make up about 1-2% of players I see.

That is a very good point, and really the crux of the problem. Hopefully I will find this guy who lost the game for us at some point and destroy him...

Please tell me Jwimmer why did you decide to make an "alt" account? Do you think Tanki is getting more and more hard at M2-M3 ranks?

Gameplay at high ranks is very monotonous, making it boring at times. Having a second account spices things up, and also I learned from my mistakes on this account to make my alt very strong. Also, I can buy new items and rank up quicker than I can on this account, so there is more satisfaction involved.

You will experience such a battles many times. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose (no matter what the reason is).

Pretty much nothing. The game doesn't have a matchmaking system yet (where players of a lower skill level can't enter your game), so you kinda just have to deal with it. Or play DM.

Of course you could try and talk to the person in chat and explain what they did wrong and what they should do instead, but if they made it to such a high rank without basic knowledge of team strategy, then it's unlikely that you'll be able to change them. Especially if they turned off their chat :D

This should be added to the game.

something like in league Of legends. the Divisions of a tanker based on a Skill. since there are always noobs even on generalissimo ranks.

So creating something similar to "Ranked" battles in league of legends. special hard battles that u have to win to earn a higher division.

and Higher division that have a lot of wins cannot be placed in the battles together with players with low division or with players that dont have a lot of wins in "ranked" battles.

this mechanism in tanki would be aswesome, if allowing players to create battles for a certain division when making pro battles, just to make sure u don't end up with some noobie that plays too bad for his rank. Just my opinion though..doubt  it will ever be added. (dead game)
