Disable supplies by default for normal battles

Stalemate?

I play pro battles most of the time, and I run into stalemate really seldomly.

On the other hand you can run into stalemake situations In drug battles too.. and very easily: if in a 5-flag battle the score is 4-4, every team focuses on defense, and you can wait forever. With or without drugs; makes not much of a difference.

If you can't afford a PRO pass, then why would you want to waste your supplies on PRO drug wars?

I can afford PRO pass -- the 5K is easy for me. But others can't, and what would be a battle with just one player -- me?

 

Exactly, which means only skilful people will be able to win any battles or get kills, etc.

Wrong, people with the best equipment. I doubt I'm the most skilled guy and that M2 XP guy is probably good, especially if he can afford that kit at Third lt (assume he doesn't buy), but I can wreck someone with M2 XP because -- guess what, I have MUed my thunder M3 a lot.

Does your idea provide the deactivation of drops as well in default battles?

Hopefully no, 'cause drops are fair (they are for everyone takes skill to get them) but supplies... Anyone can just press 1...

No. Without supplies OR drops games would become very tedious and boring. In fact, if this idea is implemented, the amount of drops on maps should be at least doubled, so that players have a better chance of collecting all three at once, like with drugs. But in this case it would be purely skill, because you need to know the supply locations, know exactly when they will drop (i.e. count seconds), get there in time and survive long enough.

I thing the amount of drops on maps is fine as it is today and I see no reason to double it.

But maybe I have this implression, as the maps are rarely complete filled up.

 

I once posted an idea that the number of drops (it's frequency) should be aligned to the number of players on the map.

It will help if you play 4vs4 on Kungur (as soon a team dominates a short time, the will get _all_ the drops for the rest of the game)

It will also help if you play 10vs10 on Kungur (as many drops are "lost" as their owners dies faster if so many tanks are around)

I suggested on another thread that a dedicated server for drug free battles needs to be created for every communitiy whereas the other servers will stay as they are today.

Hence, If I play on EN1-EN6 or RU1-RU19, etc. then I play like today with drugs, pro passes, etc.

If I play on EN0, RU0, BR0, etc, then all battles on these servers will be drug free (regular and PRO battles). So tankers can choose which server to login and they can swap between drug battles and drug free batlles easily without the need to check each single battle.

I suggested on another thread that a dedicated server for drug free battles needs to be created for every communitiy whereas the other servers will stay as they are today.

I like that idea. Many people suggested it, but as with all popular ideas - we're just left to wonder why developers still didn't get around to adding it.

One of the biggest gripes that you'll see across all servers and in on every chat forum is about players using drugs (supplies). It's easily the biggest complaint that players have. It causes a lot of division and anger and before you know it insults and accusations are flying around.

There's a view that drugs are just part of the game mechanics and there's nothing wrong with serial drugging, while others see it as giving too much of an unfair advantage to those who play more (missions) and pay more.

Neither view is wrong they are just opposing views but the source of more conflict than any other topic.


So part way to solving this problem would be to allow some simple customisation when creating a standard battle. My proposal is to add 4 simple check boxes or a dropdown menu that says:

 

  1. Boxes and Supplies
  2. Boxes Only
  3. Supplies Only
  4. None

This change would have a negligible impact on sales as those interested in purchasing supplies are going to do so regardless of this change, however it would have a considerably positive impact on the game as a whole and players in both camps can create and join battles that appeal to them.

It's not a change motivated by making a profit but a simple change that could easily be implemented and would improve the game a lot.

Gold box drops would still drop in all instances.

I'd be interested to get some feedback.

Why is it, every time someone suggests some type of modification in supplies, someone else comes up and says, "Pro pass"?

 

Consider this: Some players have an unlimited inventory of supplies because they buy them on a regular basis (Heaven forbid that they would have to go into even one battle without them).

 

Some people prefer to use their hard earned battle crystals on MU's instead of depending on supplies

 

Some people prefer to save their hard earned battle crystals to buy the next upgrade in a tank or weapon.

 

Pro passes are not free. If you want to play with skill, you have to pay for the privilege. I like OP's suggestion because it's an option non buyers can use. I doubt if it would be implemented since it would take money away from Tanki. So don't get you dandruff up.....buyers will prevail. Non buyers will have to continue to play by the sweat of their brow.

I like this suggestion, since it's one non buyers can use. Pro-Passes costs crystals, which means a player has to pay for the privilege of battling without having to deal with "druggers/druggies."

 

I doubt if this would be implemented. Similar suggestions have been made in the past and has always been met with "thumbs down." See the reply I made to GeeVuh on this topic.

I no longer purchse microupgrades because they are totally pointless. Every crystal I earn is now spent on supplies. That's the dynamic of this game unfortunately. A drugging M1 will destroy a non-drugging M3.

PRO pass should be for drug battles. Free battles should be drug free.

Sadly right. Actually a drugging M1 is stronger than M4 (both hull and/or turret)... and then repair kit. To me this is not only totally wrong, but stupid too (stupid = lacking intelligence or common sense).

Actually, M3 Smoky can kill an M1 Wasp in two hits. No matter how hard you drug, you can't beat a Smoky-Mammoth with M1 drugs.

So then ppl won't bother using supplies, nor buying them, hence less ppl buying crystals...? Won't get implemented due to this, it will only benfit free players :/

Surely developers have enough revenue from other sources (XT items, Premium accounts, Gold boxes, paints, MUs, etc.) so that they can afford to give up supply sales in favour of better gameplay. Right now Tanki X is having a few days of infinite supplies in all battles and I'm telling you - I started playing it only because of that event. As soon as it ends and I realise that I'm being dominated by buyers with infinite supplies, I'll probably stop. And I'm sure this will be the case for a lot of players.

 

Making supplies free would be a massive step towards reducing the balance gap between buyers and free players and improving the game as a whole.
