Upon further investigation, the reporter team deemed that this entry was in fact drawn on a tablet/program, then printed. The bleeding marks and your name were then caused by you.

 

Then, when you showed me various pictures, the information your first wrote was not present, even though I asked you for this after you posted your entry.

 

Thus, entry disqualified. You have been given an official warning for this; next time it will be automatic disqualification from every newspaper contest. Take care.

What!? Every single mark on that paper was put there with pen and ink/marker.

Every single picture in the second post was there when I made the post, with every description, the only reason the post is edited because I removed an image that cought the corner of an item on my desk I didn't want to show. I can put it back if you want, with the section blanked out.

 

I don't know what this rubbish is you're posting about me not having missing information, every post has every bit of information requested at the time of the post and thereafter.

 

You are DQing a perfectly legitimate entry on suspicion without any proof.

 

Those zig-zag marks are caused by JPEG compression, google JPEG artifacts, that's what they look like.

"Oh, look, I see pixel, sooo faaaake"

 

 

Anyways, if I have to put up with rubbish like this, so be it, I'm making a better one, taking WIP images along the whole way, and putting the name tag in each of them, if you have any more ridiculous hoops you would like me to jump through (me and only me), and any more accusations you would like to make, tell me them now, so I can dispel them along the way. I don't want to have to make a third entry.

 

 

I will physically send you the drawing in the mail if you want so you can examine it under an electron microscope. This is absurd.

 

Yes, I own a graphics tablet, but if I had used it in the entry, I would have at least taken it out of the image I posted. I half imagine you sitting around a table with the other newspaper people going:

"Oh look, I see a graphics tablet, that's must be what he used, it's not because he actually practices art in a lot of different forms or anything, if he owns a graphics tablet, he must not be able to draw with a real pen, because it's not like they're just about the exact same thing, or anything"

I did "Art school" for 5 years. This is not printed. Take a look at the lines, they are not straight. If it was printed, the lines would be perfectly straight. +, as he said, it's the jpeg compression and the fact that the photo is bigger than the original drawing. If you download the photo, it's almost 110x80 centimers. And I bet he did his drawing on a A4 paper (21x29,7 centimeters).
 
Have you ever used a Micron pen?
 
Anyway, ButtHead's drawing is totally legit, it does not deserve to be disqualified. Same for the warning. You only have very small proofs, and you give him a warning...

 

Now, look at this, it's one of my drawing, if you zoom like you did for your proof, you will see the same thing. Yet, my drawing is 100% by hand and not printed. It's because the photo is bigger than the "real" drawing.

ButtHead's entry has been undisqualified. I've just seen this, and I'd like to apologise on behalf of the Newspaper for us jumping to the conclusion of its invalidity so quickly.

 

A properly considered and fair investigation into these suspicions will be conducted, including contacting the entrant himself and having a full discussion so that the entrant may offer explanation (as has already happened above). If there is conclusive justification for the entry's invalidity, then it may be 're-disqualified'.

 

However, we understand that we cannot disqualify based on suspicion alone, especially when there is reasonable doubt of this suspicion. Therefore, we'll endeavour to make a complete assessment first before arriving at a decision one way or the other.

XD, sure thing:

For the black lines, I used a Pigma Micron 08 pen, and then to fill in the lines I used colored sharpies.

Another close up shot, at a steep angle, I was trying to show the reflective qualities of the ink, but it turns out Pigma Micron pens have a very matte ink

 

 

 

I turned the paper over, now you can see the sharpie ink bleeding through the paper, not something the printer does. Also, the ink from the Pigma Micron pen is not bleeding through

At this detail level, all the small mistakes become apparent, doesn't look all that great when I get close to the drawing like that though.
