Two asks of this thread.

1 - I would like to generate community interest for the return of the Assault Mode from last year.  If there is enough interest, I will bring this to Cedric's attention.  I found the map and mode very interesting and would love to see it as a permanent fixture in the game.

2 - Post your photos from this map - I'll start with my rank up below ->

It was interesting. But it got boring after awhile cause allthe team that didnt have to cap flags did was mine like crazy and have packs of Twins+Viking/Titans that had lots of isida support

I respect that - but I found that I enjoyed the challenge of finding new and interesting ways to cap.  That map had a lot of approaches.

Assault mode was very popular during the holidays and developers are fully aware that players want to have it back in the game as a permanent game mode. Cedric doesn't have any power when it comes to deciding what gets added to the game, so there is no point trying to bring this to his attention.

The game mode was removed for reworking (as it was very unbalanced and had certain other issues), but at the moment there are no plans to bring it back in the near future.

The funds were way too low for most peoples liking, the lowest of all game modes. This was main because the blue team sat in their base mining, while the red team sat in their base fighting for the flag, literally. Only a few brave souls actually went out and killed.

Another problem was that it was too hard for red to win, and blue had to do almost nothing to win.

I don't know if you think that defending that fortress and keeping an eye on all it's entrances to prevent enemy sneaking in is "nothing", in fact assault mode is a really new unorthodox concept since it's a mixture of CP & CTF modes in addition to that assault mode gives to the red team advantage of controling the big part of the map that means more pick-up boxes witch makes the task kinda easier for them to break the defence line of the defending team at some points, on the other hands blue team have a well defended castle with lots of covers but at the expense of terrain control & pick-ups...so technically each team has advantages & disadvantages, but it is commonly true that the mode still needs some rework ...

However adding this mode to the game would really improve the gaming experience.

Respectfully disagree.  Cedric is our voice back to the AP development team, which makes him our greatest tool in terms of expressing the desires of the community.  That said, I will not bother him with this unless there is sufficient support.  Thus the creation of this thread.

To others, I'm open to debate over the balance of the Christmas Assault Mode map.  Plenty of good points on both sides.

To O.S.A.N. - Your last sentence is the underlying feeling that led me back to Assault Mode - This game needs something to make it interesting again - not just another re-balance

Anyone have any pictures???

Look, I'm pretty sure even developers themselves want to add this game mode to Tanki Online permanently, but it's just not on their priority list right now and no amount of player requests will change that. I'm keeping this topic open so that you can still try to do what you wanted, but I'm telling you that this is almost certainly a pointless waste of time.

Red fighting over the flag was really the worst part of it. Tankers were so selfish.

That may have affected Red's ability to win the game. If they co-operated they stood a much better chance. Especially with a Thunder on each hill raining splash damage down on the concentrated defenders. Kill the defenders and those mines disappear.

What is assault mode?

haha you where not born at the time.

One map and 2 teams (red and blue). The red team has a red flag in their base. The blue team has what resemble a blue control point in their base. The red team attack (assault) and the blue team defend. The red team need to capture the red flag on the the blue control point. As far as I can remember (Not sure about the actual scoring i was new to the game at that time.) capturing a flag bring 10 points to the red team, while the blue team preventing the capture earn 1 point per x amount of time. So it is a race against time for the red team to capture as many flag as possible.
