[Declined] Multiple Paints

Wouldn't it be cool if you could equip multiple paints at once? Due to the paint seperation update, this idea will not affect gameplay.

 

Lots of players have many expensive fancy paints but they can only use one at a time.

 

This would result in more customisation, personalisation and would allow players to utilise all (more of) their paints. Players would buy more paints as they can be used and not sitting in the garage.

 

For example I would make the main hull Spark, the sides Electra and maybe the turret with a different paint.

This is just generally not a great idea, not to mention that it's probably impossible.

 

First of all, the way paints currently work is they apply a single texture over your tank when you select the paint. Your idea will require development of a whole new system that will somehow blend paints together and creates a mix between the two, which doesn't look like a total mess. I don't even know how two paints could be mixed well at all, let alone how it would be possible to incorporate such a system into Flash.

 

But even if we assume that developers would find a way to make this work, the other problem is that paints would become unrecognisable. At the moment people buy expensive paints to make themselves stand out and be unique. Expensive (or special reward) paints are rare, giving the player a higher status when he/she wears it in battle. People recognise the paint and feel jealousy or respect towards the owner, which is precisely the kind of reaction people want from using their expensive paints. But if Tanki allows players to make mixed or custom paints, then it will be possible to make a nearly infinite amount of textures and it will become impossible to tell the difference between an actual rare special paint and a mix of cheaper paints. So as a result the paints will lose value and exclusiveness.
