Hello,

Whoever has questions about his bans can always ask the Chat administrators, currently and , about the nature of their bans.  If someone suspects the ban came from forum activity, then ask the Forum administrators, presently myself.

We do not name the particular moderators involved in the process for the following reasons :

  1. We have shifted away from "personalizing" moderation a good while ago, it was really  everything moderation shouldn't be.  Nowadays moderation is standardized across all the moderation body.  Whoever applied the ban is irrelevant.  The violation at the cause of the ban is what matters the most.

  2. It is not the duty of moderators to break down why this or that ban was applied or why its of this or that duration.  They are neither trained in answering such queries, and their focus is to moderate, not stray away from it for justifying their acts.  All of these are the responsibilities of their administrators.  They are the ones trained for this and its one of their primary duties.

  3. Not everyone will have legitimate intents upon knowing who banned them.  You may say that your purpose for knowing it would be to query the mod to know the reasons for your ban.  However as is often the case violators just end up on hate rants against these mods who are just accomplishing their assigned tasks.  These don't resolve any issues whatsoever, only aggravates them.  But if you go through the admins, they will instantly see if there was any issues there and resolve them.

At the moment we are not planning to change this aspect of moderation.  Therefore we'll decline this proposal
