[Declined] Friendly fire option?

Recommended Posts

I had a thought of something that could be an option to make for a battle where teammates can be destroyed. Why? Well, it'd give the game a much bigger challenge as seeing you always get shot by members of your team, but lose no health, so if we had this, you would actually take damage, which seems like it sucks, but on the upside, you get more exp. It's 10 for each enemy you kill, so double it to 20 as an example, but if you kill a teammate you lose 5 whether it was intentional or not.

I'm always looking for games that propose a good challenge.

Now, why double earned exp and such a low penalty?

You see, I was hoping this, needing more skill to play, will benefit the player with more exp than normal battles. Say you kill 1 enemy tank and 1 teammate. 20 for the enemy and -5 for the teammate = 15 exp, or a 50% increase in exp.

What about sabotagers?

There is no way the devs can make a system to tell if a player is intentionally killing teammates, so I had the simple idea that within a 60 second span, if a player kills a certain amount of teammates, they get kicked from the battle. They can of course join again, but a system CAN be made to tell if a player was kicked. If they get kicked three times from any battle with this option set, they'll get an hour ban. IF repeated, the punishment will increase of course.

What if a player drives over my mines?

They blow up, which means you will have to be rather careful when placing your mines at your base as your teammates will be affected by them.

What if I do kill a teammate? How will I know?

If you kill a teammate, a little red 'x' will appear in the middle of the screen and then move off somewhere out of the way. If you go 60 without killing another player, your 'x'(s) will flash white and disappear. Just take caution where you aim.

Will Isida still heal teammates?

Yes. It's the whole point of the Isida. You will still be able to heal teammates, so if you use one, you won't need to worry about getting kicked. Now, I was planning on any points earned to be doubled, but with isida, already making so much exp as it is, only a 50% increase on points instead of 100% seems fair ONLY when healing players.

What about splash damage from Thunder?

Splash damage will also harm any teammates within the vicinity of the explosion

What are the pros and cons of this idea?

Well, the main idea is to raise given exp, thus raising battle funds, meaning more crystals earned, so there is the first pro. Another is for players like me, searching for good, challenging battles, so this would obviously change things up and make thing more realistic. There is no real negative other than getting kicked from the battle.

This feature existed as a battle option and got removed. Sorry, but we do not accept ideas for bringing back removed features. Friendly fire is an interesting option, but it will only be added back if developers consider it necessary.

Let me just stop you at that first sentence. Listen, if this gets added then firstly how can isidas heal?

Secondly, the trollers would rule Tanki. The whole point of the game is to kill the opposite team and capture their flags. If that means shooting through your teammate using a railgun so be it, I mean its not like they take damage right? But if they were to take damage lots of teammates would die in the cross fires. Not to mention, people could easily abuse this. They just kill their team and not the enemy. In my opinion it won't fit well in the game. ''Never kill a teammate for he is a friend''.

IF you read the sabotager portion you'd have gained info on what would happen to those trollers.

I only needed the first sentence. Remember this has been in the game before. However, due to people abusing it, it had to be taken out. Also, what if you kill your teammates unintentionally? You can miss a shot and kill your teammates. Lag can happen. And what if the trollers decide to go in front of the bullets of his/her teammate? Yes it would be funny seeing the guy leaving cause he killed you when he didn't mean to. But it gets old fast. After a while it just gets annoying. Also, if you get double XP from this why is that? You aren't allowed to kill your teammates or you get kicked remember? So there is absolutely no purpose of this game mode what so ever.

If teammates get killed, it's also the shooters fault for not watching where they're shooting. It's the WHOLE point. And you read the XP bit but ask why? You obviously read that part so you have your answer - I need not to repeat what's in the post.

So what is the whole point of bringing this idea in? Will it really be any benefit to the game? Making the game harder is one thing. Making the game unplayable is another. Its not always the shooters fault. Its a fast paced game. What would happen if teammates and enemy were together? 2 teammates with 2 enemies. You have thunder on double damage. You shoot the enemy, however due to thunder's splash damage it is an epic 4 death. But not so epic because your teammates end up dying and you get kicked from the match...

Thats the players fault. If he knows the kick punishment and ends up killing those teammates knowing they are there with the splash damage it's on that person.

Nor is it unplayable. If you kill a guy, just watch out. I mean, the names are quite big, so knowing where they are shouldnt be an issue at all. It just means you have to watch where you shoot. Makes it more of a challenge and realistic, maybe even have damage to team players be half the normal damage to decrease the probability of killing them.

If I have notices one thing o the Tanki I&S forum is that everybody seems to look only at the negatives.

Okay, you put a lot of thought into this and i can tell you are thinking about any problems that may arise. However, there are just to many problems with this gamemode, especially for turrets like firebird and freeze would always be killing their teammates, and it is a option in PRO batlles.

Tanki is not supposed to be that realistic, if you want something really realistic, go play World of Tanks.  However, good topic and logic.
