Let me clarify something. The 5mins wait is for when you're trying to change the same type of equipment. For example:

 

• You're in battle
• You go to the garage to change your equipment
• You change your turret
• Go back to battle
• Go back to the garage to change equipment again
• If you want to change your turret again, you have to wait till the 5mins have passed. BUT if you want to change your hull, paint, or protective module, you can do it right away.

Good on self destruct, bad on increasing time to change tho :( why 5 minutes?! :s

The main reason for this is to prevent equipment changing wars in small battles. When there are around 8 or less players in a game, people keep going into the garage to adjust their equipment to the enemy and the enemy in turn adjusts to be better suited against their opponent. As a result most players spend ages in the garage trying to pick the perfect module for the occasion and not much actual battle is happening. Not to mention that some players are basically sabotaging their team by sitting in the garage and not playing.

I mean, I have to fight with M3s with M2 XP now? 

It will take me more time to get M3 XP unless i buy a kit which is DAMN expensive...

Been saving to purchase that M3 kit tomorrow after server restart and you are a low rank, well now that the ranks for getting kits as been moved...I'd advice you better get it asap before server restart or wait until you reach that very required rank. All the best guys

Actually my concern was modules... I think people swap more modules than turrets..

Equipment isn't getting nerfed to make it weaker, it's nerfed to make it more balanced and equal to all others.
