They get more crystals from you...

 

Because of the rotations there's a good chance you wont get kit on sale thus forcing you to spend 2x crystals.

 

Plus... if you have the crystals but kit not available, you might buy a different one for now (impulse shopping).

Then spend even more crystals later on getting the kit you originally wanted.

 

Earlier in the year before a sale Medic was in the garage. It was 2-3 weeks away from sale, had rank and crystals. But timer showed Medic kit disappearing just as sale was going to start. I bit the bullet and bought the kit as I did not want to wait for it to come back later.

Guess what - they switched the rotation and Medic came back just as sale started. D'oh!

Iimagine theyhave some sort of "rationale" like this. But this sort of thinking ignores the cost in terms of dring away annoyed custometrs. Drive away one customer and that is worth more than any amount of crystals.

 

Not to mention they'd get more Cr payments if - when people went to the store - there were actually items in the store to buy!

 

 

Basically I think we just have Russians who still have the old Soviet mindset. The central authority decides what is for sale and how much it costs and the shopper lines up and buys it.

 

in other words, compared to the average western shopper, they are idiots.

I may be wrong here as Tanki might have changed this since I joined Gismo ranks(gismo's can't buy garage kits BTW)...but I don't think Kits are discounted in sales. If there's a turret sale on and the kit you want is now within your price range because of the discount, the kit disappears from the garage until the sale is over....I assume this was done cos the kits are already heavily discounted.

 

 

Good thoughts on the fast rotation but I see no need for a rotation at all. The entire concept has no merit just downside.

 

You are wrong about the kit prices. The kit prices are lower during the time when one of its components is on sale. The fact I cannot by the kits I wanted to buy during thie exciting fun super nifty sale is going to cost me tens of thousands of Cr ... or in other words, dozens of hours of playtime ... weeks of earnings. I'll have to spend extra but other pkayers won't? Because why? Beause of luck and a stupid rotation concept.

 

Not only do I have no fondness for these Russin jerks I am now actively rooting for their financial collapse. I'll never spend another dime with them. F them.

What foes this have to do with the update? Well, I guess you did not read the details. Turns out Tanki adjusted the parameters for all hulls and turrets. Some of th changes were dramatic.

 

Some players no longer like using the equipment they bought.

 

Some players were wanted to test the update before buying a certain kit until they tested the update.

 

Some players are not Gizmos that are new players who have a hard time finding the Cr to buy just one hull and turret.

 

Some players are new to the game and are the exact people Tanki needs to retain in order for the company to survive.

 

So it seems just plain old smart to me that if I were a gaming company, I would help my customers adapt to the change rather than making it burdensome.

 

So now it is your turn. Name me one single benefit to the rotation policy. Exactly why should not every kit be available for purchase every day of every year?  Exactly why is the game made better under this rotation scheme.

Yes I agree that is true, But they are giving up dozens of small purchases for every one big purchase they get. 

 

Let me put it this way...

 

Have you ever had a store refuse to take your money, telling you "Oh no, we will sell that item only on Tuesdays."

 

No. Of course not. Only a cretin  would erect obstacles when trying to earn business from potential customers. Tanki erects obstacles between themselves and potential customers all the time.

You are right. If you actually read what I posted you'd know that. New players are not "flooded with crystals".  I cannnot but items from the garage because they are unlocked at a lower rank via kits. I can purchase the items only by buying one specific kit.

 

How long have YOU been playing?

Actually Ive played Tanki for 4 years now.  I was here when there was only kits like "light tank m0" kit and "heavy tank m3" kit.  The kits didn't rotate then.  But when the rotation system came out along with all the new kits like "Avalanche" they moved it to the shop. Coincidence? There is no other reason for the rotation.  That is why they made them available in the shop.

Before the kits were in the shop what a buyer would do is buy Cr then use the Cr to buy the kit. Now buyers just buy the kit directly. So kits could always be had for cash.

 

I am sure they think the rotation policy drives up there revenue. But I suspect it does the opposite. I suspect a lot more players would put down $4 or $10 to buy some Cr - enough to get them that kit a couple weeks early. As opposed to how many people will drop $40 or $70 to buy a kit out of the Shop?

 

I don't see Blizzard or other successful gaming companies structure things this way.

Yah, I agree. That boils down to the same thing I am talking about. It is a marketing gimmik but one I think hurts Tanki more than it helps them. 

 

Anyway it is their bed let them lie in it. I like playing the game when there's a good matchup. So I'll keep playing until I no longer do. But I've given up hope for a better product. Be it TO or TX. Oh well.

Premium will NOT effect the amount of Gold Boxes that drop. There are also on increase on battle fund's. Golds only drop X5 more often on the special Halloween map, no others.

 

There will be no difference activating your Premium today, or during the event.

The rotation concept for Kits is not stupid.. it is a very clever concept.

But it does not benefit the players, it benefits only Alternativa's business.
