FLOODING

Hi! I am SHiBECAiSU.

I am here for another post. I don't know what I am going to write, so I will go with the flow. Ok, I am going with the flow.

Most users are banned for flooding in the chat. This can be 5 minutes, 1 hour, 1 month etc. People can even be banned FOREVER! I know someone like that. I will talk about it later. :)

People who are banned for 5 minutes may have written something like this.

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm1234567890 ( X5 times )

dbsdviygfhrltjgsiuhlkgnaskjhfdsuafhwighri ( X? times )

I am not really sure because I am not a moderator or admin, but it should be something like that. This is sort of like spamming. ( I do not know the difference between spamming and flooding, but I think they are sort of the same. )

A moderator's attention will definitely be attracted. Then, 1 second later you are banned. This is normal, but I am going to talk about things that are NOT normal. That brings me to the 'someone'. One day, he was walking on the street... Nah, he was typing in the chat. 1 single word is typed, then... You have been banned FOREVER. The word is 'shibe123'. I don't know why. I typed this too in the chat but nothing happened. I don't know what had happened. Maybe someone could help.

Also, when I type in the chat, sometimes I type very long things like the paragraph above, but quite rare. Then, 2 things might happen. Usually, nothing will happen. But sometimes, I get banned! I don't know if there is a rule that you cannot type something very long in the chat, even if it makes sense and you are not spamming. Happens quite a lot, then everything I have typed died like this disappeared. Maybe Tanki should take note of this. It really happens quite a lot.

Ok, now I will talk about something that I always laugh about... Maybe you do too. ( lol ) Do you know the 60sec spam? It is when server restarts. :) The chat practically fills with people talking and shouting bad words, cursing the server restart. The whole chat moves with great speed, maybe like a car. Then, people get banned... So unlucky. I really look forward to your experience on this.

This is the end of the post. I don't know if what I wrote made sense, I am just doing it for fun. Give your comments like always... Bye :)

No, Shibecaisu! This is the end, not that.

Flood, by definition is comprised of long, meaningless and repetitive messages with the intention of disrupting normal communication. It's not against the rules to type long messages as long as they gave a reason to be long. Of course, die to the anti flood mechanism in chat, you might have to wait some time before that message can be sent. The more times you flood, the lot severe your penalty will get. That's basically what karma is. The guy you mentioned must have been an banned for a severe violation.

For the first incident (with shibe123), one of two things could have happened. The first possibility is that a moderator saw your friend type "shibe" and banned him because it means something bad in another language. Although that's extremely unlikely because bans for things said in foreign languages are only given out when it was 100% clear that the person was swearing, while "shibe123" just looks like a nickname. The second possibility is that someone already reported something else that this player said earlier in chat and the moderator was just checking the report on the forum and giving your friend a ban, and it just happened to be exactly when your friend wrote "shibe123" in chat.

Either way, in neither of these cases would any player get banned forever. The only possibility of that happening is if the player already has thousands of ban-hours for swearing on his account, so the next violation is more severe because of the bad karma.

In the second case it's possible that you got banned by a moderator for sabotage because you weren't playing the game and typing in chat instead. Because if you are typing, then you aren't playing and aren't helping your team, making your team weaker and more likely to lose.

Either way, with all issues regarding chat bans you (and your friend) should contact chat administrators ( & ) in PM, instead of discussing this on the forums. A topic like this will only provoke speculation and misleading comments.

I'll add that we do not have any connection nor jurisdiction over antiflood system so if you got system ban, there's nothing we can do. You can forward your complaints about it to tech support via help@tankionline.com
