[Declined] Bring back old maps for holiday events

Recommended Posts

I was looking at http://en.tankiwiki.com/Former_Maps and noticed some maps were deleted for lack of interest and others were deleted because they were for testing props. Some of those old maps had some great game plays. Since their deletion, many more players have joined the Community and have never experienced them and those of us who have been around awhile reminisce about some of the old maps. Some of these deleted maps have interesting game strategy different from many of the maps available today.

My suggestion is to bring back some of the old maps for holiday events. When the event is over, so is the map.

In the pre-holiday V-Log, an announcement could be made as to which map will be temporarily resurrected with a short description of the map including it's history. When a player creates a map, there could be a special listing in the drop down menu as "Holiday Map."

Players could be invited to join in a forum discussion about the map: likes and dislikes. This may give Developers and Map Makers a heads-up as to what elements interest the newer players.

Declined

Bringing back old maps instead of making new ones would result in complaints such as "developers are lazy so they recycle old material" and such, so it's much better to make completely new content for holidays, including brand new maps. Old maps were removed for a reason (you said it yourself - lack of interest, or glitches and bugs), so bringing them back won't be a good idea. There are already 70+ maps to choose from, many of which have very interesting and unique gameplay. I suggest you try all of them out, before asking for removed maps to be brought back.

Developers don't realises the fact that removing less used content instead of changing it is not a way to success so they remove maps.

BTW I'm editing mdk and adding old maps and stuff.
