nicknames

so my question is why can't we use some nicknames while there appropriate.

for example i wanted to change my nickname to "Frozen"

if you search this name in the friend list/ratings it's not a used nickname but if you try to create an account with this nickname you can't.

my question is why this is and if it is still possible to take such a nicknames cause it happens to almost all nicknames i try: 

-Frozen

-Amber

-Lime

and alot more nicknames.

but in the game i see people still taking this "OG names"

so how can i take them?

I don't know if the names are taken or not, but the new system may allow you to take them.

This is the process:

 

An inactive nickname will only become publicly available if someone tries to register it. At that point, one of two things can happen:

• If the inactive account isn’t linked to a valid email address, the new user will be able to register the nickname.
• If the inactive account is linked to a valid email address, the original owner will receive an email notification informing him/her that someone wants to claim the nickname. From that moment, the original owner of the account will have one week to reactivate his/her account by using it to enter the game. If he/she fails to do so within that timeframe, the new user will be able to register the nickname.

Bear in mind, it says you have to register, it doesn't say anything about changing nicknames though.

Not all accounts appear in the ratings site, not sure why.

Basic names like those are usually taken first by new players or developers. The site couldve glitched because they are so old or it could be a dev account like godmode_on that doesnt appear in ratings.

 

Also shouldnt this be in P&S?

Yeah, well actually you didn't say Tanki mailed you back.

 

If you have asked them, and they have said you can't change it to that, I guess there is not much you can do, really.

We don't really know why this happens. Some nicknames are unavailable by default, like "admin", even though they may not be registered as players. But all normal nicknames should all be either taken or available.

If you really are settled on "Frozen", try putting numbers or extra letters before or after it. I see some players have the year they started playing tanki at the end of their nickname. Some have put X's in front and behind. I don't know your gender, but try "Mr/Ms_Frozen." You can add Roman numerals after the name. "FrozenVI" for example.

Several reasons why some nicknames are not available:
They're taken in other versions of the game (Brazilian, Chinese).
They're blocked.
Bug in the system.
