Mults: persistant [vote_counter] counter per account; increased by each /vote

Recommended Posts

Improve this idea, not only to allow voting, make it as auto-kick from game!

If half of team, vote for one playes - kick him from game instantly! To prevent misuse, all voters must have more points then voted mult.

Example.

In game of 8, on score rank, 6th is mult - if 4 team members(each from 1-5) vote for 6th - he is kicked out from game instantly(with 4th vote agains him)!

And you end up with mults without wasting admins time, fast and deadly!

There is a very thought through proposal to auto-kick players, it's called "kick 2.0". It has more then 400 likes, I can find no logical flaw in it.. and the game designer refuses to implement it.

The main fear seems to be, that you could kick out legit players (with low score) in order to make up room for your friends to join the battle.

The reason that the kick2.0 was rejected was the initial idea for me to create this proposal.

I crafted a system that just reports, but lacks the ability to auto-kick players - intentionally. So this is actually the wrong place to discuss auto kick features :p

Maybe you like to search for Kick 2.0 and read it.. it sounds a bit complicated but it's a nice read with good examples.

Unfounded fear in my opinion because if someone was to be able to prove to me that legit players could be kicked then I'd be happy to learn the suggestion was flawed. Until then...

Kick2 is the only player moderation way to deal with mults in real time. Hazel mentioned it in one of his q&a thingymajigs and it was clear to me he never understood the suggestion.

So the mult problems goes on all these years later.  Maybe Mults are good for business?

as I wrote - I find no logical flaw in your proposal.

Maybe you're right and Hazel did not understand it.. or maybe he simply believes in the unlimited creativity of human kind to find loopholes in software. His answer in that video conference call with Cedric was diffuse and sounded more like "I don't believe it will work", and not like "it will not work because".

There always are loopholes

Hmm.. almost done :)

this idea consists now of three parts:

 ...
2) Reporting by MouseClicks + inGame explanations
Proposal: Add a report possibility it in the mini-Menu, like shown in the picture below
xbztrp.png

Details:

The use of the /vote command is quite a pain for complex usernames (c00l_c0z_0f_l337).
Listing invalid reasons helps the players to learn to differnentiate what behaviour is against the rules and which not. Clickin on those invalid reasons _is_ possible, but it does not produce a valid vote - it will just give an explanation why this is an invalid reason (>> and therefore relieve the battle mods).
I assume 99.5% of the players never read the rules, so having them learn the rules in-game is most usefull.

  • [Kills me all the time]     gives an explanation like:
"Sorry that you face such a strong opponent. Beeing able to kill other tankers more often is not considered as sabotagte, because killing other tanks is part of the game. Maybe consider playing battles with lower ranks in the meanwhile. "

3) Advertise it in a vLog

Tell the players about

  • the new report/vote menue mechanism
  • about the rules for reporting
  • about what happens if they abuse it

nah, actually the main part, the persistance of votes, is missing.

Also missing is the explanation of what behaviour may be reported and which not.

This will lead to a lot of work for the battle mods, until Tanki puts some description next to the report button.

Just to explain it in the vlog does not help enough, as every new player will not watch the old vlog.
