[Declined] Fix Protection modules.

Recommended Posts

Ok so I know not many ideas about protection modules have been added. But I have an idea that should put tanks better in balance.

Protection modules... lets say against.. thunder. You are thunder M1. You are in M2 battle. Your opponent has hornet M2 with 40% protection against thunder. From experience I can confirm that it will take 3 shots to kill that hornet M2. The hornet automatically has an advantage against you despite what ever hull you might be wearing.

So my idea is to give different protections for different modifications.

For example, that M1 thunder would not be fighting 40% protection you'd fight an 15% protection. (Btw, these aren't real thunder protection modules, I was just giving examples. But I have seen M3 with 40% protection). My point is if you are using a higher modification hull than your opponent, you get less protection against them. So if I had M1 thunder and you were the M2 hornet with M3 isida and you have M3 protection, you'd only have that M3 protection against M3 turrets. So M1 will automatically make you have M1 protection.

The fact that you still have M1 while others have M2 is your own fault. In this game one of the primary goals is to get as many crystals as possible so that you can upgrade your equipment as soon as possible and get the biggest advantage over others, who still have weak equipment. Giving weaker players some kind of bonus to compensate for the weak equipment makes equipment upgrades completely obsolete.

If that happens then there will not be anymore struggle to buy things before ranking. Making the gameplay very very boring and pointless.

To be fair, quite a few games use the kind of model where you can choose any sort of character (tank/kit/weapon/skill/etc.) and it doesn't change as you progress through the levels. The only thing sold for real money is cosmetics, which is where the game gets revenue from. Those games are still very fun despite this kind of system. But developers already chose to go along the path of equipment upgrading purchase and getting rid of it will deprive them of probably over 50% of the revenue.

Well it's not the person's fault really. It's hard to afford M2s in this game without buying. It's not my fault I can't afford them, yet others can. It's not my fault I can't even GET them yet. So, that first statement is completely incorrect.

But in Dan's case you're half right

If you can't get them then you shouldn't be entering battles against higher ranks, who have access to M2s. And if you can't save up for one - your fault. I can see you have Smoky and Viking M1 only, so if you keep upgrading only them (don't spend too much on MUs though - no more than 15 upgrades for M1), then you will save up enough crystals to buy M2s as soon as then unlock.

I have more than enough for all m1's and i actually can get the m2 freeze when i rank up again, but i dont like freeze lol. But I play with higher ranks for the higher battle funds, plus im fairly skilled so i can still get top spot in a fair amount of battles. My M1 smoky and viking are 10/50 on Mu and im saving for the Northerner kit at the rank of Captain.

Also, with so little battle funds, it's not really my fault if i cant save for one since they're so expensive. M2s that is. Even with my beginner's pass im hardly able to afford the M2 freeze. I get top spot a lot, I play a lot and i have been doing daily missions for a month so i get plenty of crystals and the 1st m2 i can just hardly afford.

You should be able to save up enough in time for when your M2s unlock. Also, don't buy them right away and wait for at least 40% holiday sales or a personal discount.

That means i would have to wait till the needed ranks to get the hull and turret and i cant get to colonel by that time

Buying kits at those ranks is far better choice than getting items individually. It's worth the wait, to rank up, accumulate enough crystals and be OP at that level.

I'd have to disagree. I'm a non-buyer. And I have a life outside of Tanki. And unless I have enough time to play all day everyday I won't have M2. The fact that I don't have M2 is mainly because I hardly ever come online and when I do I play 2 or 3 battles. I don't mean to be rude but many could argue this could be a main reason people are leaving. If ''giving weaker players a disadvantage'' is what you think is good, than everything you've said about upgrades so far isn't the truth. In another topic do you remember when you said upgrades don't require skill. Its nothing but pressing a button and giving players unfair advantages. Well... this is what is happening here. Unfair advantages.

Wrong. You will still have to buy the protection against certain turrets. Only thing now protection modules wouldn't have Modifications. But there will still be a wide range of protection modules.

What if when you go to a battle you only find M1-M2. I mean that wouldn't be so bad if people with M3 kits (before the Marshal update) joined and got M3 protection. Also, even if you don't buy an M3 kit, you could just fully upgrade your protection module to M3. And before you say that's impossible, I've fully upgraded all my paints before they become modules.

Yeah but those aren't equivalent to M3+ modules, which provide a total of 150% protection.

150%? Doesn't that mean the shots should HEAL you? xD

150% total. 50% from each turret.

150% protection from one turret would indeed heal you when you get shot.

Alright, just wanted to verify xD

Damn, that's like a constant DA against those turrets in the module xD

Imagine if the person DID have DA on Mammoth

*Thunder M4 fires from a distance* *does only 20 damage*

You DID MU your M0s 50/50....

Not Tanki or Tanki economy fault.

It's not unfair! It's skill. I almost NEVER play these days - just missions.

Lucky you that M3s unlock late...

But only at higher ranks though.

Mafioso...

uh..

there's this article in AWS about this guy who as a challenge, MUed only one combo. He got M0 50/50.

Both smoky/hunter.

and...

uh...

Dan here MUed his M0s 50/50...

Damage is not influenced by hull -- it is not a working of percentage.

Also, thunder m4 technically can't do 80 damage minimum -- Assuming they have DA, prot module...

I'm not really sure what your point is here. The original comment was about MUing paints. What I'm saying is, if you bought a paint available for your rank before the modules update, it wouldn't be even close to the level of M3 modules. The best you'd be able to get is around 40% protection from 2 turrets, which is similar to a fully MUd M1 Double module. So yeah, even though it's OP at lower ranks, it's still not even close to M3 level.

Actually, I'm a non-buyer, but my alternate account Adversary has M1-M1 Fire-Wasp, with 20k crystals and a good protection. I'll be able to get M2 Hammer and Hornet at the early rank of because I have a tactic called saving from the startMost people know that instead of buying 11 M1s, you should buy ONE cheap combo, preferably from a kit, then work your way up to another combo of M2s.

One way of saving crystals while staying low ranked so you don't encounter M2s/M3s is only logging in to do missions. It's a very effective way to crystal farm. It'll work well based on your info that you only play a few battles per day.

And being able to buy M2s through kits is in NO WAY an unfair advantage, as anyone can buy product kits, and that means you can too.
