Free-rotating camera with mouse

Recommended Posts

I had an idea where you could double click and hold on the second click and you could then drag your mouse or finger on your touchpad and your camera will turn so you could maybe look around your tank and also get an overview of the battle that's going on without pointlessly turning your turret, plus the q and e buttons aren't that good for me in this sense. I hate having to turn my turret in such strange ways to get even a simple sketch of the map im on. I feel it would help players a lot to notice and ready themselves before an enemy attack and such.

It would be cool if players that do not use mouse control could have two keys that rotate their cam left/right fast(er then the turret does) in order to look around. In the M1/M2 ranks the turrets are not sooo fast as in M4 and there this feature would be really usefull.

(personally I dont wanna take my fingers off the keyboard in the fight in order to look around. What I find there might make me want to react fast, and not search my fingers back on the keys I use to play..)

When you get off your finger from it, it would quickly camera go back to normal view?

Whatsoever I don't see the necessary of this as gameplay on Tanki is unrolling so fast.

Yes, it would, and it'd be a lot easier to look around than using q and e

I'd like to suggest the addition of a key which will show the front of the tank, with the turret facing towards you.

This way, you will be able to see everything behind you, (strategic use), as well as for convenience sake, (taking photos of your tank, making videos, et cetera).

It isn't a big new idea or anything, but in my opinion it would be quite useful and practical.

Please excuse if this was suggested before, because in my search of a similar topic I failed to find one.

Share your thoughts on this and I hope it will come in handy.
