Tanki Online forums: No Fun City.

When was the last time any of us had a fun topic on these forums? Not recently because Russia is struggling to pay for this place.

I haven't seen one since early 2013, and that's because a few certain moderators came in. I'm not going to name them because they know who they are but they always lock harmless topics because it conflicts with their OCD.

I am here to announce I am launching my awareness campaign for this once again! It's gonna be big, and all but four of you are part of it!

Helpers VS Players topic used to be pretty awesome, but i think then the mods got fussed at for playing the Forum Games to much and pretty much stopped playing. And there was a good one last year (the Secret Love topic in off topic discussion) but spammers (*cough * *cough* @Agent101us *cough* *cough*) got it closed....

Forum is strictly moderated as, it is now used by peeps below 14. And the minimum requirement to use forum is 14. If it's any offensive or meaningless post, we don't want other kids to see and read that. So it's better to be this.

Minimum age may be 14, but lots of people act like they're below 10 years of age.

And of which there have been none recently, just moderators striking as they wish because they need to reach their daily quota. Ban hammer violence is a big issue you know, and they can't back up their use!

in the real world kids from about 10 and above talk and see things that would shock some people.. and yes i do have kids my last one is now 14 and he has talked about the human body since he was 10 along with other things.. school teachs kids more now then in my time.. also kids talk openly more then what some might think.. in Canada kids at 12 are treated more like adults.. they can be left in there home for more then 4 hours .. so tanki needs to change with the times and move out of the cavemen caves

Mods have a far greater sense of humour than you give credit for. The obvious proof is that we did, in fact, allow the recent troll topics to stay open for a while and didn't close them immediately. But there are limits. Making one or two topics is fine, but once things get out of hands and everyone believes they should make one troll topic too, that's when we have to step in. Come on, even we'd like to have some fun, but given current conditions, allowing one such topics leads people to believe it's their birthright hence flooding the whole section. -_-... There's no problem with a little humour if you can keep it in control.

To be fair there are some who have no humor, and they're joost uncool... boiling hot if anything, and boy do I hate the smell of burnt oil.

If one or two is fine then why are all of them removed? Leave on or two open! It's not like you have to build a wall to keep the fun out, we can see how that's working already in the real world, and on here.

Would be better if it was like reddit, but reddit does have a more mature community
Exactly my point. The nature of this forum doesn't allow us to have many kinds of discussions which are easily possible on other forums. But, there's nothing we can do about it.

, joost looks boiling but he does have a great sense of humour.
As for the suggestion, it's not that simple. How will we choose which topics to close and which to let open? After all, if one guy wants to troll, hundred others will think, 'I should make my own too' leading to disaster. There's no way we can allow one topic without allowing all the others.

You are contradicting your point. You said making one or two is fine but now you are saying making one will influence others to make more "troll"(is that the words some mods use for speaking your mind?) topics. Then, you have to close all of them.Help me,I am confused. That is your job isn't it?Making the community better and helping others.Educate me,please. My overall point remains the same. We cannot have the Off topic discussion full of topics which are 'people speaking their minds'. You can do that in Amateur Writing Section where the right kind of audience will read it and reply to it. In off topic, all such topics will be deemed as a troll by many, if not all, of the community members. And, as I explained, one thing just leads to another and we have a flood of our hands.

For example, sometime in 2015, forum admins experimented and removed the Section rule which prohibits topics regarding specific players. They did it cause that rule prevented lots of discussions which actually made sense and were interesting. The result? Staring with robbie56, within a few hours there were tens of 'Let's discuss me' topics which didn't have any constructive utility. No one is to be blamed for this, but as I said, that's just how the nature of this forum is.

My brother's seven and he watches (what I'd call in this context) intelligent "music videos" about things like space, history, and yes, the human body. And by me saying he knows about the human body I don't mean he knows what a head, tummy, and feet are - The vids actually go into detail and do in fact teach stuff. And yes, the vids do avoid it as much as possible, but they occasionally do have to slip in a few words children (or anyone) shouldn't be saying at the dinner table. But it's only for the good because face it; if they never said it he'll never know every organ in the body except for a few, which is odd...

However, he doesn't go around the house the whole day spewing "nasty words", and I don't think he's in the wrong for watching those vids. He knows things like every U.S. president to date, every planet in our solar system and their moon(s), as well as every nearby dwarf planet, and the entire periodic table off my heart because of it. Which by the way, I barely know myself. :x

Of course, I'm not trying to tell you how to parent, but I'm trying to say that it isn't (or shouldn't) be odd for a child to know about the human body, and if knowing such basic things causes them to say not-so-nice things, that isn't the worlds fault as much as his own.

And about the 12 year old being left at home alone, that never happened in my family, and I doubt it happened in yours either. Whichever family did have that case is probably in the minority.

Hi,

You have got to understand that we are dealing with a big amount of players here. That means a lot of different senses of humor. Many senses of humor work fine with eachother. Result: different senses of humor enjoy the same joke/troll.

Now let's look at your topic named 'If a burger is a burger but not a burger, what is the burger?'.

You are going to have to explain us where exactly the troll or the joke is in this topic because I, and others, didn't get it. That means you're either a really bad troll of you have an extraordinary sense of humor which most of us don't grasp.

Having a forum means we can have fun of course. I myself can enjoy a good troll, but that means you gotta put some quality there. The burger topic was not quality after all.

This community however isn't ready for trollings. In a perfect situation not only players get to troll, but mods can do that too. However, we do that, we assure the PMbox of our admin is stacked with complaints about us. So no, we're not ready.

Maybe the mods can compromise and make a "Make us laugh" competition where players can submit something to try and make the mods laugh every once in a while. Probably cool down some of the 'beef' trolls and the mods have between each other lol. But....the competition is based in part quality and in part genuine humor, like if you could actually make the mods laugh you know what I'm saying?

Give some of the players a shot I guess?

well as a parent i can say more kids even younger know where baby's come from and not mummy's tummy's .. the world is more opened in other parts of the world and limited in others .. so to say swearing and stuff around my house no its not permitted but it do's slip out and nothing can be done about it for me .. in general we do hear and see more swearing in real life then in tanki and this is good to a certain limited..

Exactly my point. The nature of this forum doesn't allow us to have many kinds of discussions which are easily possible on other forums. But, there's nothing we can do about it.

we use to have good conferences with players on topics .. and can be done but we need to have a unbiase's  mod who will work for both sides of a chat room so they can understand what all were being said and in also a controlled chat... but over the years these chats end up getting players banned for minor issues and have left little room for players to chat now .. this is why the trolls are out to play.. if u allow us some movement we might be able to have a good debate about things ... but i personally find no sooner we get one started .. it gets shut down .. so this is why players are not impressed

Personally, I'd love to have such debates myself but there's no way to control the players. Things always get heated up in the end and someone or the other gets offended and starts breaking rules by insulting/provocative posts, etc.

It's just like you have a monkey, who's tied by ropes, and you have food in your bag..Now, letting people make more and more troll topics, is like leaving that monkey alone, with food in your hand..Wow, that would be a great scenery isn't it?

Mods aren't aliens, you know... We can laugh just as easily as any other hooman.

Cmow don't answer to people of this kind. They just think that moderators and administrators are evils. I seriously feel sad for those people, that they don't have enough common sense to think from both sides.
