ProBattles: via ProPass or PayPerUse

Recommended Posts

Actually, I just changed my mind about this idea. PRO battles aren't all about the fund. A lot of them are created for convenience, such as being able to do private events, parkour, etc. So PRO battles are more like a paid subscription you buy to gain access to extra battle settings and features, rather than just a way to make you have less crystals overall. Very unlikely that this will be added.

I would say a small fee of crystals would be needed in order to join a pro battle. It would cost, say 500 crystals, you could access up to ten pro battles and have it equal up to a pro pass, and once, you've entered one, it is payed for until you enter a different battle.

Example:

Player enters pro battle. (500 cry)

Player goes to garage to change equip. (0 cry)

Player rejoins pro battle. (0 cry)

Player leaves pro battle and goes to different non-pro battle. (0 cry)

Player rejoins pro battle after playing other battle. (500 cry)

This proposal is not about the fund - the proposal is about making the following things possible:

- infrequent access to pro battles has a lower price then making full use of it

- infrequent beeing online (weekends, just 1h) makes it hard to even finance a pro pass over a whole month

- WO's that would play pro on a regular base, can not afford the current pro pass prices

- low rankers can not even try it out as 5000 cr is almost a complete set of all turrets in M0

If you go for a coffee each weekend, you consume 4 coffees a month.

If you like to test out that new coffee cafe, you might consume only one or two ever.

Even if you consume 3 coffees each Mon, Tue and Sat, then you end up with 36 coffees a month.

In each single case you will also not be happy, if the only offer they have for you is the "free coffee 24x7 for a month for 300USD special offer", that grants you access to coffee whenever you want - but that's ecaxtly how pro pass work's today.

I understand the idea, and it would make perfect sense if PRO battles were just that - battles. But since PRO battles are more that, then I'm not sure if the idea works. I mean, you're basically asking devs to make access to and creation of private/parkour battles free of charge.

Actually I am asking the devs to have a more fair pay-per-use system in parallel to the existing PrePaid 5000,- ProoPass.

I also saw the side effect, that parcour creates no crystals and would be for free (only mode that has this effect).

But I think the idea brings way more benefits, then this one draw-back (draw-back from dev.side).

Besides it's not that hard to correct:

- Am I wrong if I assume, that parcourists consume a lot of supplies anyways? Isn't that the idea of "paying for battles by your supplies"?

- It wold be easy to attach the parcour format to the prepaid 5000,- pro pass only the dev's insist on it

- You could also ask each guy that enters "This is parcour format. As you do not own a pro Pass, the entry fee is xxy Crystals. If you purchase a proPass the Entry fee would be zero."

- ...

Well, we used to have a pay-per-use option (500 crystals per battle) and it was removed... for some reason. So I guess devs don't want us to have that.

..most likely because noone used it as 500cr per battle are ridiculous expensive?

I earn 250cr in an XP/BP 7 flags game - in _my_ ranks. Who would ever give that a _try_ for such a price??

And again, it's not about earning more then I spent - it is abou the border price that is between "acceptable" and "inacceptable" for non-frequent users-.

Currently tankers don't buy the Pro Pass to have non-supply battles because they can't find enough battles. And no don't count those RU Battles. It needs to be battles in their native language.

If they could find enough Battles to satisfy their needs it is more likely tankers (like me) would buy a pass.

So to get tankers more familiar with Pro battle Pass - how about making it free for next 2-3 months.

Once tankers see what it can do for them - the benefits of not being wrecked by massive supply users (and M4s) - they might continue on this path even if they need to pay for it in future.

Kind of like the "introductory" cable offers. First few month free. If they like it they continue and pay for it.

The single largest impediment to Tankers starting to use the Pro Battle Pass is lack of battles.

Something needs to be done to encourage tankers to adopt it. A carrot works better than a stick.

^  absolutely.

You know (or maybe not :P) that there was once an experiment, where the pro pass was given for free for 1 week.

It - of course - made almost no change.. as the time period is way too short.

Many players from .. tell me that the pro pass is simply too expensive. Clan players in those ranks complain that they can not afford it (but need it soo much for trainings).

5000 seem crazy lot of crystals in those ranks. Think of it:

  • 5000 crystals for a are about about 15% or a railgun M1 price
  • That's like if I charge an M3 tankers 30.000 for the pro pass.

As long as those are not offered a more usefull way to play pro, there will be no change.
