Honestly after understanding how exactly this contest works I really don't want to be a part of it. It only shows who's lucky, and the rest get the impression of being noobs just because they failed twice. Parkourists rarely get things done in the first 2 attempts, you can't compare their skill like that. It's just wrong. And did you see that RU MOP finalist that went before the "go" signal and made the OMP trick in first try? After this he kept failing and didn't get score for this trick, how on earth is that a proper skill rating system in any way?

And how creative are you gonna get with 2 attempts?

Please understand, this is the wrong way to compare skill of parkourists. The videos are a great way to do it, but not what you planned for finals. The best luckiest shall win.

I am just disappointed, I imagined something better for MOP finals. In my opinion just choosing targets and letting each team record a video of conquering these same targets in the best way is a much better way to compare skill and creativity.

Maybe next time consult with parkourists before coming up with parkour challenges? Because honestly, you don't know enough about it, but you do have people with more knowledge that can help you.

I'm sorry if it sounds rude, I'm just really disappointed to find out that the MOP finals are something I don't want to take part in just because you judge skill in the wrong way. Seriously, don't you agree with me about this being a luck contest?

Well, to be honest, the more skill you have -  the better and faster you can do the trick, the more knowledge about tanki physics you know = you can be the real master of parkour. Masters of parkour should be skill, not as you said - luck. If you are the real master - You should be able to get tricks done in first tries!

Did you maybe misunderstand the rules? You did have a house to conquer, and you could do it in any way you wanted to. Time was counted from the beginning till the completion of the trick, no matter how many tries it took them. There were also judges, who gave their view on the trick (in points of course), based on some criteria that you could see in advance.

I think you had enough time to see what target you had to conquer and get a nice creative trick for it. It is a live-stream in the end, so everything done needs to be done fast, otherwise it gets boring.

Can there be a new cameraman?

Trust me, you do not want to be. You may blame him for whatever, but you do not know the reasons behind todays error.

Let me explain you all:

Broadcaster today had to have some plugins installed in OBS (broadcasting software) in order to play the videos that participants could either recreate, or do it in their own way. This plugins sometimes can get blocked by an antivirus software, or get deleted/blocked with the automatic Windows Update. This exact thing happened today. What is worse, for an unknown reason, with the removal of the plugins, some settings changed in the Windows file, and the broadcaster basically got blocked out of his own Windows.

This was nothing that could be expected, or fixed in a really short time, so the stream had to get canceled. You can not blame it on anyone, sometimes software or hardware can fail in the critical moments.

Actually, it wasn't I who decided on how the finals would be held. As for teams submitting videos, what's the point when that had already been done in phase 1 of the contest? The whole point of the second phase is to see how well these players can perform under pressure.

===IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION===

During the livestream, some funny guy/gal created a channel impersonating me and promising 3 gold boxes to everyone who attended the event. Unfortunately even one of our moderators was fooled by this.

I want to make it clear that this is NOT going to happen. Please disregard those messages. No gold boxes will be handed out.

It's easy to say, hard to actually do. Don't act like you don't know it yourself, you have enough experience with TFP to know that most times you don't land it in the first try. Don't try to deny it. I don't see why you are even saying this...

The difference between the first phase and my suggestion is that players have their targets set and can be judged exactly by the criteria you mentioned for the 2 attempts challenge (except for the speed, which is what turns it from skill to luck contest). You will get much better entries that way, and players will actually be creative instead of trying to pick something simple enough to have a higher chance to land it in the first attempt - because when you limit players like that they will give up most of the improvements they can add to the trick just to feel more confident with the landing. The pressure doesn't really affect much the performance of the parkourists, it affects a whole lot more their trick choices and confidence in improving the tricks.

I didn't misunderstand the rules, I speak Russian and I know what the RU MOP rules were. I didn't say it was 2 attempts for them, just that he kept failing and lost points regardless of his actual skill and even regardless of his luck making it in the first attempt just because it was before the go signal.

I did experiment with the tricks and did have creative tricks that I could land pretty easily (at least until lag started...), but I still had fails like 5 or even a few more times in a row sometimes, and it was a serious reason not to take a risk using this trick in the finals, even though my team isn't bad at it. This kind of pressure only makes parkourists bring down their creativity for the sake of safety.

Regarding the livestream, maybe instead of requiring things to be fast because it's a live stream - make it something other than a live stream so you don't have to make everyone hurry up and lower the quality of the content a lot? You can't really choose the rules of the contest because of the way you choose to show the results, the planning should be the other way around - first choose a good challenge with proper rules, then think what is the best way to show everyone the results. Doesn't it make more sense?

EDIT: Again, I'm sorry if it sounds rude or something (someone PMed me to stop replying...), it's just important for me to explain my point here for the sake of future contests... I'm not raging at you or anything :\

Will take it into consideration for next time. I'm all for improving this contest, and there are always better ways to do things. I know there are things we've done in this contest that I'll be doing better next time  :)

That's the same imposter who for whatever reason out of the blue said "Cube, you have been warned" and when I ask why, replies "for being a Noob". Edited by cube3e
