So going back to my point, to prove this contest has a very big element of luck - the first trick we did (successfully) was way more difficult than the second trick, and yet we failed only the second (easier) trick. Skilled enough to succeed in the harder trick but not skilled enough to succeed in the easier trick? Nah. It's just luck.

 

 

Anyway, congrats to everyone! ^_^

Glad we won Spider and some supplies, will definitely make a good use of them! I enjoyed it even though I expected it to be boring, and I hope everyone else enjoyed too!

The only part I hated about the contest was when in the live steam when they mostly showed the picture of the parkour contest. It would have been better if they showed how the participants prepared for the trick.

No, sadly I came 6th place. I wonder what place I would've come if my second trick had counted but we went a little overtime (6 seconds to be precise), could've even come 4th or 5th place. Edited December 18, 2016 by cube3e

Nope. That means... There was no space for begginers with parkour skills. Those officials had spectators and stuff... With that vars.set command its hard to do stuff well and a lot of times it may fail..

Camera bumps in wall and camera stops in middle of parkour tricks? Trick failed. Must do it again                                                                     Now parkour trick fails... Camera man again has to set up everything and go again...

Camera man flips... Camera goes crazy cuz of that... Video fails once again... Whats with spectator? He cant flip.. He cant bump in walls... He can be at any hight he wants... He can follow tank when its flying in air when standart player with vars.set  must use q/e to follow him.

 

They have youtubers in their team who can edit those videos to make them look better... Make those tricks look harder and more epic using video effects while good parkourist can make video and... Thats it just a simple video with no effect at all.

 

Also youtubers when editing their videos know what the mayority of people like... Which effects to use and stuff but... What if user likes that blinking effect? Fast fowards not slowmos? What if he likes different types of videos than TO staff does?

It's not about the prizes, they're amazing and I'm very thankful for it, it's just that being in F&F, people expected me to get a much better placing but to be honest I did go for some easy tricks because of the super short time limit.

Fight & Flight isn't an official parkour club and almost won 1st place, they just failed on the last trick by taking a huge risk of doing a trick which they thought of 5 minutes before it was their turn, not the best of decisions. I'm sure they would've made it with more time but oh well, atleast they made it 2nd place, placed between 2 official parkour clubs.

Is that a surprise? Afterall it is called the 'Masters of Parkour' contest. You need to work hard for these things. It took me 2 years to finally win a MoP contest, a very huge acheivement for me. Edited December 20, 2016 by cube3e

That's why they aren't judged by one person but a set of people who are experienced in Parkour. Also, yeah of course new, inexperienced teams have a low chance. Many finalists this year have been trying for years. A fair contest does not mean it's easy. Official Parkour teams did not get selected for being official but it is because they have the ability to perform such excellent feats that they are official.

That is not true. Me and my team are just beninngers and we managed to get to the consolation prize. This is just the first time that we ever participated in this contest and we created the team 1 and half week before it ends. It is possible, you just need imagination for good trick and camera angles. I was using the vars.set command while parkouring and found out how to use that command perfectly to record a good shot. We never trained for parkour before. So I am not surpized that we didn't finish top 10. Maybe more luck next year. Edited December 20, 2016 by stanzhang

That's not a big surprize, to do better stuff anywhere in life you need to have good equipment. The better your car is, the more likely you are to win a car race.

They made it into the finals. That's an impressive achievement in itself. All of the finalists deserve respect and admiration for having made it so far. And the same goes for many teams who didn't even make it into the top ten. There were many skilled teams; we just couldn't pick everyone.
