Can you get banned for this?

I've seen on a YouTube video that someone has been banned for fraudulent activity. It sounds like it's because they've tried buying from a country outside there's, assuming through the Russian side to get a better money to crystal ratio.

Do tanki really ban for this?

It has happened in the past with users faking their real country's identity (and even IP etc...) to buy at a cheaper value and with better crystals / price ratio.

It is indeed a fraudulent attempt, you are basically faking your real country's money economical value to buy at a different value that the one intended to be.

I won't expand much on this since it is not an easy argument, but just be assured that risking to be blocked or fined is not worth.

So the only way to get a better deal is to actually travel to Russia?

Thats a dumb question. Honestly. How would you save by traveling to another country (which costs a lot) just to pay less for crystals? Yeah you pay less to get the crystals but you pay a LOT more just to travel so it's an obvious waste of money.

Isn't it about time tanki makes it fair for everyone with the same price? This bias towards the Russians has gone on far to long. Every country has rich and poor, many country's are in conflict, not just Russia. Have they not seen the state of the pound and the economy of the U.K after brexit. Surely we need some help as well lol

No economy is perfect though. There's no need to give Russia preferential treatment purely because of their economy when this game is played by people from all over the world, by people from all sorts of backgrounds. Tanki might as well ask for a credit rating to be done before purchasing crystals. .

There's a perfectly legitimate explanation as to why Tanki should do this and why they're unable to do it for all countries around the world. Try and read up a bit on Global economy and you might understand.

What's for sure is that it is not allowed. You must buy from your same country. Most payment service providers will check your IP and will not let you purchase from a different country.

Enough with this. AP can charge whatever they want, it's not biased unless they blatantly state they find the English community inferior/not as important.

I'm pretty sure I've seen somewhere that it's because tanki headquarters are in russia so converting the money to russian money and having to go through third-party services makes you have to pay more

I'm pretty sure I've seen somewhere

Yes, you have:

I've not checked and verified the numbers claimed above, but there is an existing discrepancy in prices for sure.  And the reason for that is just international economics.

The game's house is in Russia, its banks, lawyers, facilities, employees, taxes, etc ... all in Russia.  And a huge chunk of their customers from Russia as well.  Whenever these guys buy something in the game, they pay the local prices, just like you would for buying anything in your own country.  So far so good

Now for the rest of us not in Russia (or neighboring countries with strong ties and economics deeply interwoven with Russia's) , we have to go through an international monetary transaction system to buy anything in that game.  And that involves our banks sending our order through its payments aggregator / service provider and they deal with the middle guys (paypal, google wallet and such) and then these guys deal with the other intermediary companies in between and then it goes to the transaction services providers of Tanki's banks and then it finally gets to tanki's bank account.

^ That long process happens electronically and in mere seconds, hence why we often forget about it, but nevertheless that's how it works.  And along that chain, EVERYBODY wants their cut on the transaction.  When you add all that up the price has already increased rather significantly and wait, doesn't stop there !!  Now tanki also has to pay other taxes on these foreign incomes as required by Russian laws and tax policies and probably that's at this point that cedric will come and say "hey where's my 1 cent in that?"

^ That last bit was of course a joke, but, you get an idea of how long a payment chain can be.  And each of these services along that line has their own charges, and all these add up and we have a big discrepancy.

Another factor is currently Russia's economy is being boosted internally, check the news, and a lot of these service charges that russian locals would have suffered from, or rather bear the cost of, have been lowered, and that's another factor to consider in these discrepancy.

TL;DR :  Always costs more to buy when its done on an international scale involving international intermediaries.

O please, tanki is registered in Malta and subject to Malta laws, which Is why I find the excuse stated above rather outdated and redundant. Companies move themselves to these tax havens to get around these sort of issues. I find it hard to believe, that in today's modern age where I can buy anything from anywhere with a click of button, that converting our currency to theirs and exporting a digital product really requires a 50% up lift.

The price increase is associated with the services, which provide the international money transfer. Because those services need servers, software, protection and staff to maintain them, they get payment from the users by taking part of the money they transfer. I'm pretty sure that supporting a secure and reliable money transfer service require a lot more funds than you may think.

see if you come down to it going to Russia or other places cheaper on cost really don't work out .. even if you purchase with your credit card you end up having to pay for in the end with interest rates and also the exchange rate so you end up loosing in the end so why would you want to take chances on getting banned or even kicked out of the game ...so in the long run just pay the fee's in your country and enjoy the game..
