Rework the lock on feature for vulcan an option?

Recommended Posts

Vulcan is strong. It needs disadvantages cuz of that. Now it has 2 disadvantages..Self damage and slow turning speed when shooting. Without slow turning speed while shooting vulcan may become too OP cuz there would be NO WAY how to escape it/

I dont like how the turret doesnt move with the tank during firing....it gets pretty annoying, so why not change it so it only does this when hit by enemy fire?

That's not such a bad idea. Though I think that Vulcan is powerful when on target. So maybe rotation for the turret while firing should be allowed but the rotation speed should not be too fast; Otherwise vulcan will get OP.

Oh i dont mean the turret rotattion. Say you are uing twins and you're just....firing. If you turn your tank, the turret goes with, this cannot be said for vulcan.

I think a good idea for an m2 alteration for Vulcan would to take away the gyroscope that locks the turret in place and take away the rotating-barrels charge-up, but make the time to overheat a lot sooner.

No, make the cooldown slower. The vulcan heats up too fast to where you can barely kill hunter without starting to heat up. I noticed that. Oh, imma just take a while to get to 500 degrees, then stop firing and be back to room temperature in a second! :D

Actually, the "gyroscope" was supposed to be Vulcan's advantage as it makes it impossible to knock off its aim and helps in shooting while turning.

The only real disadvantages are the self-damage and the fact that it pauses before shooting like Railgun.

Yes...When used right, it's an advantage. When you are not so skilled with Vulcan, it becomes a disadvantage.

I am well experienced Mammoth\Vulcan player. Well I don't either need this nor it does problems. I would like it if there was an alteration which speed-up rotation (of cannon), faster shooting and more impact force. That's all from me. :)

Its not a disadvantage if you know how to use it. Driving while firing and still being able to target accurately is one of my favorite parts of Vulcan. It takes skill to learn how to get past the slow rotation, but once you learn it, its not too much of a big deal.

I completely agree with Jwimmer. Vulcan was granted its gyroscopic effect so that it can stay on target the entire time, which is why it is balanced within the game. Just imagine having to manually turn the turret after being hit off aim, super annoying. Overall, i believe Vulcan should stay the same.

Right. So actual skilled vulcan users should not be nerfed because of nugs that don't know how to use it.

Time to remove slow turning speed while shooting and that stupid delay. Vulcan needs to be competitive against Thunder.

Nah I think the gyroscope feature is fine. it makes it near-impossible to knock off your aim but it also makes you trash at close-range, both of which should happen. Double edged swords best balance mechanic tbh.

Vulcan trash at close range = good in case anyone was unclear about that

How will you like it when a thunder/smoky/railgun/twins/ricochet keeps knocking off your aim?

You may want to re-do your math classes...

Vulcan weakness:

- Self damage

- Slow turret rotation

- Long spin-up (often destroyed before firing 1 bullet)

Now I'm not the best at maths, but 1 + 1 + 1 = 3, no?

Don't you think three disadvantages are just too many?

Has anyone actually used Vulcan in the past 6 months?

The gyroscope is practically non-existent.  Get hit with big impact weapon and you are firing at the sky. They nerfed that a while ago.
