TTK's Thoughts on: Drugging

 Share

Recommended Posts

Welcome,  fellow tankers, to my new series, where I give my (totally unbiased, of course) opinion on random stuff that nobody asked for, and where you get to listen. Today I'll be discussing a relatively controversial topic, that nearly everyone has a unique opinion on. Which is, of course, drugging.

Now, before I give my opinion, I want to tell you a few things. First of all, try to keep the flamewar in the comments as low as possible. Second, I want to thank Hairbrush (AKA Bigtimerush_bry) for giving me this idea. Third, I want to define a few terms. I refer to infrequent and, IMO, appropriate supply use as...well...supply use. "Pickups" are boxes found on the battlefield. And finally, drugs/drugging are garage supplies, and drugging is the frequent and needless use thereof.

If you're wondering, the first supply was the repair kit. This supply was originally white, and had a needle as its symbol, leading to the nickname "drug". Speed boosts are also called Nitros, Double Armour is also a DA, and Double Damage is DD. Mines are mines.

And now, for the fun part. Seeing me getting ripped apart by druggers and random flamers in the chat.

For the first question I will answer, yes, I do not agree with drugging constantly, running to your little repair kits and Double Armours and speed boosts when you get in a jam. And no, I do not find any issue with using drugs during golds, at the end of high-fund battles so that I will win, or even on the rare occasion that I try to cap a flag. Allow me to explain further before you blow up and tell me how wrong I am and how much i am an nob mult lagger kid who doesn't know what he's talking about, or whatever it is you say nowadays.

My personal philosophy on drugs is as follows: you drug, I drug. If you are two weak, to afraid to fight me, then you are going to have to stay that way. If you drug during gold boxes, no problem m8, I do the same thing. If you drug near the end of a high-fund polygon cp, I don't like that, but I see no real issue with that. Flags? Also annoying, but I do the same thing. In a random, low-fund battle where everyone else is m2 and you have m3, WHY DO YOU DO THAT? You have the best stuff, and the battle is so small that it won't matter. If you are one of those people, I'm sorry to say this, but...and this does hurt me to say this...I hate you. I really do. you are wasting your hard-earned drugs on a useless battle, and wasting everyone else's Kill Ratio. And that's not even the worst kind of drugger.

IMO, there are three kinds of druggers that stand out from the rest, the kinds that drug particularly often, that are usually noobs, and that I hate with a hatred that is deep and real and directed towards them and only them. Here they are, in order.

3. The Noobsmoke m2/Viking m2 with full MUs

Combine my most hated combination with a full-on drugger, and you have a force to be reckoned with. I imagine them as a YouTuber who is begging for subscribers and needs to buy and drug in order to do so.

2. The Hornet/Railgun

Number two on my "to kill" list, this is the combination that I always prioritize first with a drugger, and my blood pressure goes up. Way up. What really annoys me is that they usually end up being decent players, sometimes actually doing some real damage to me. I imagine them as your Generalissimo with a second account created specifically to piss me off. If you'll pardon my language, O unknown moderator.

1. The Twins m2/ Hunter m2 with full MUs

And finally, number one, the head honcho, the special kind of evil that cannot be described using words. I'm not hating on Twins users, because I've only seen two worthy of this title. They don't turn their turret, they can't use the chat, and they press the number keys more than the arrow keys. That guy. I imagine you as the pinnacle of noobs, the six-year-old who bought all his crystals with mommy's credit card, the one who has rightfully earned my undying hatred. Congratulations.

Whooof. Well, that was a lot of hatred for one article. Go and eat some ice cream or something, and come back when you've cooled off enough to think clearly. In short, I think that constant drugging is wrong because it requires little to no skill, is not benefecial to you or others, and doesn't help you improve as a tanker. Mines and Speeds don't really make me angry, Golds are always welcomed, and DDs, DAs, and repair kits should not be abused as they are. Supplies are described correctly as tank enhancers, not permanent boosts. They should be used in critical situations. If you really want a constant double armour, go and become someone like Sidlob, and you might get the 50% protection module if you're lucky.

I'm interested in why you called Bry Hairbrush?

I'd also suggest that you read the article in the last newspaper called 'Formating 101'. If you follow the advice it makes your article more compelling to read.

^^ Idk why the first paragraph didn't appear in orange. It looked like that on the screen. I wonld take pics, but again, idk how. I'll try to improve in the future.

You might want to add some formatting for future reference. It helps make the article more interesting. Also, pictures help a lot. Overall good though. :P

Hmmm. Interesting article, but I disagree. Drugs are there to be used, not stockpiled and wasted. They don't cost any crystals if you do daily missions. If someone who drugs is bothering you, you can easily drug back. Don't try and control your audience, ttk.

First of all, why are you writing as your alt replying to your main?

Anyway, the drugs you get from daily missions are not enough to compete at the high ranks unless you play very little each day or only play PRO battles

I agree. He is only a nub, so he doesn't really know what he's talking about.

I beg to disagree, I don't buy any drugs as I have enough from my Daily/Week mission chain. And I'm doing pretty well with my ratio exp/crystal. You need to be more selective in your battle choice and decisive on your drugs use (when to use and when not to).

another thing that I want you to get from the article is this: people who constantly drug do it mainly for two reasons: they are afraid, or they have been forced to drug. A lot of high-rankers seem to drug for the second reason, and low-rankers for the first. You should not be afraid of other, stronger people, and you should not be bullied into drugging.

Daily missions barely give any drugs. My stockpile came from buying kits (not drug kits)

The first 4 noob M0 kits, Striker, Fighter, Minotaur, and Bulldozer

I really dislike when people try to put "moral rules" for drugging. I need to use my drugs -- I agree with TTKsDruggingAlt: NOOBOBBOBO!!!

I'm going to have to disagree. Coupled with mission chains, and at the high ranks, daily missions give quite a number of supplies. Not enough to compete fairly, but enough to keep up a pretty decent drugging rate.

There's no "moral rules". But there are generally accepted standards of what's fun and what's not. When you ruin an otherwise fun game on purpose, it's a bit upsetting. I would also save your drugs for higher ranks, as you will need them a lot more to compete against Legend players who have no problem with drugging as fast as they can, and keeping that rate up, too.

The thing is: Drugging against druggers, or to bring back a badly losing team, is perfectly acceptable. In a fair game where there's not much drugging going on.....it can cause a chain reaction... :(

If nobody is drugging I usually drug a few speeds... Viking is so slow.

Armours sometimes are used to raid, but I rarely drug HP -- the most OP thing
