Purchasing kits...how tough was the decision?

I've seen this too - ridiculously low damage numbers out of M3+ turrets.

Combination of

-distance

-double armor on the target

-protection module on the target

Are you referring to the new damage count-display on the screen when you hit a target?

I got 2 kits in my tanki lifetime and regret neither. I played twins/rail at m0, smoky/rail at m1, rail/vulcan at m2 and now smoky/rail at m3. The kits I bought were for augmenting my gameplay with Railgun (first love). Sadly, I realized that I couldn't use rail in all scenarios in normal battles. So,

1. Vesuvius M2 (Viking/Vulcan/Blacksmith) at one of the Colonel ranks (don't recall exactly) - This was when the vulcan was just introduced. People were unaccustomed to playing with it. Protection was uncommon. Needless to say, I garnered a lot of hate. But I sucked up to the mid-rank pressure because this kit was my last ditch effort to stay sane after trying to get past the M2 ranks with just 1 M2 combo - rail/hornet - both at their worst effectiveness among all modifications.

What spurred me - the more diverse protection offer, medium hull, a sale, sheer instinct.

2. Paladin M3 (Smoky/Viking/Inferno) at Lt. General - This was my first M3 turret. In this timeframe the isida was ridiculously OP - I did NOT get the isida for this very reason (bound to change sooner or later. Proved true time and again). I wanted a gun that was versatile and could deal with most situations. This kit seemed a good choice because I usually stay away from small maps. I could have waited to get rail, but the M2 ranks taught me better than to rely on rail alone. I was also confident of being able to earn enough to get Railgun as soon as it unlocked at the next rank. I disliked the "inferno" that came with the kit (the only fire protection I want was/is 50%), so I splurged on savannah and the pain went up in smoke ;)

What spurred me - versatility, medium hull, a sale.

I did my research among some friends and on the forum before buying. Contrary to what people advise/say I recommend a strict 2 combo (minimum) per account strategy and make sure your favorite weapon and a medium hull is part of it. I also took into account the weapon popularity, protection popularity (based on what I see in the battles I frequent) and made sure to stay away from what seemed "too good to be true".

Actually, as he said, Railgun is an electromagnetic projectile launcher.

Well, even so...

An EM wave can travel without a material medium (. . .) and does not lose energy as it moves. (. . .) In theory, an EM wave can travel forever.

The actual projectile is launched by an electromagnetic field but it itself is a solid metal shell. Railguns have an extraordinary range for a direct-fire weapon but missiles go further. Just keep in mind the raiñgun fires a solid shell at many times the speed of sound and it loses velocity over distance.

Steering clear of perceived OP equipment in favor of middle of the pack gear is pretty good advice over the long haul. Smoky Rico and Twins have been pretty safe while Freeze, Thunder, Firebird, and Isida have changed a lot.

Right now Freeze and Vulcan are enjoying an upsurge in popularity due to the former getting a buff and the latter remaining largely unchanged in the last rebalance. I don't expect Tanki to make any more balance changes anytime soon but when they do, both Freeze and Vulcan are probably on the block for slight-moderate nerfs.

Very true. They've been tinkering a bit too much with freeze though. Ironically it seems as slippery as ice.

I don't regret my Bulldozer kit. I use 3 out of four items, make that 2 out of 3 since paints DONT MATTER

Overall, I am pleased with my kit purchases. Striker, Minotaur, and Bulldozer were pretty good.

But I honestly dislike what they did to Mammoth M2, I was looking forward to using it.

Not at all :D, I had this plan ready before: Vampier then Striker then Simoom. But, I bought Gunslinger, Dictator M1 and Twins M1 between them, this was the hard decision but don't regret it. It's easy to get kits if you in contests.

Oh yeah, this is an alternative account ok.

Im getting the Voltage kit, but after the rebalance, people say there is no real Diff between M1 and M2 Railgun. Yeah the damage is increased and everything else, but in such a way it takes the same amount of shots to kill medium tanks, but the M@ is better for taking down bigger hulls and can one shot lighter hulls that are M0 since they're still out there at my ranks

M@????

Harvester is a great kit. I use the M4 equivalent on my main.

Bought Viking M1, and will probably buy Harvester or Vulcan M1 at the Xmas sale. Deciding which to buy will mainly be based on the discount. If there's more than a 5k gap between Harvester and JUST Vulcan M1, I probably will just buy Vulcan.

I only bought Viking cuz of a 32% PD.

They're M2s.. :o Stinger = WO4, Cyclops = Third Lt. I just want to know which one I'll have more fun with... :P

*Second Lieutenant........ Those M2s at Third Lieutenant would just be WAAAAY to OP.... Not that Simoom and Anaconda arnt super amazing and OP at their unlock ranks.... But being able to 1 shot a M1 mammoth WITHOUT DD would be to unfair . Especially when you can still play WO1s at 3rd Lt.

People told me to not get Voltage, but im in love with my voltage. I know Simoom is much stronger, but it's not for me.

I'm sure you've gotten enough advice by now, but Imma add my two cents. I currently have the boar kit, and also bought vulcan M2 on my alt. Furthermore, I have thunder m3 on my main. My recommendation would be Anaconda if you are not going to be a heavy drugger, and Simoom if you are. While boar is good, rico is worthless after it is empty of charge. Vulcan is a good fit with dictator. The height helps alot, and you appear to be very commanding. Simoom is good, but from my experience, anaconda will beat simoom in a 1v1 (with no drugs) almost every time. Once you get used to vulcan its is incredible.

Fair enough. At those ranks Viking and Vulcan will be very effective.

Anaconda and Simoom come out at those ranks too....I mean you get Viking M1 at WO1 which is the lowest rank 3rd Lts can play with, and Anaconda and Simoom both use Dictator M2, Simoom has Thunder M2 and Anaconda has Vulcan M2....Imagine that...Voltage is the weakest of the three Dictator kits there, and with it I still own people :3

It's lower. You must have been in a battle that didn't allow them, but I've played with Sergeant-Majors at Third Lt.

Hm? I can't seem to go lower than that...but...I kinda regret getting Voltage now...on my backup i tried thunder and dictator together (both M0) and I wreck pretty much everything in sight...damn Electra paint looking so awesome wooed me into getting Voltage :(

Should have saved up for Simoom  :(
