Wouldn't this make repair kits obsolete?

So, a while ago, I saw a post on the ideas and suggestions forum about keeping your points if you leave a battle, but join the same one for whatever reason. I thought of it as a good idea at first, but I just realized something:

 

If you can leave a battle and rejoin and still have your points and kills, you could be facing death with 1 hp left. Of course, you could just do this and when you come into battle, you'd have full health. So basically, you could become invincible by leaving and joining whenever you're about to die.

 

Now, unless they can implement something to keep your health the same as when you left, then that would fix it, but until then, if this idea gets implemented, this loophole could place a major flaw in it. Heck, you wouldn't even need supplies to begin with! Why when you have infinite health in a sense?

 

What do you guys think?

While that's true, there's a few drawbacks. It still takes some time to rejoin, so this trick would only help if you are absolutely dedicated to keeping a high overall K/D ratio. Besides, if you rejoin instead of respawning normally, you miss out on the chance to look at the situation on the map from above, which is often useful to plan your next move. And most importantly, this would only be useful for DM and maybe TDM battles, while in CTF and CP you need the repair kit to live longer so that you have a better chance of escaping with the enemy flag or capturing a point.

 

So yeah, this is only a valid strategy for keeping a high K/D ratio and generally being rude to your opponent, and if enough players will be abusing this, then developers may do something like add a limit on how often you can rejoin the same battle.

Also, forgot to mention that every time you leave a battle, you risk losing your spot to someone else joining before you.

I only leave and rejoin to kill spawn killing druggers. Sometimes i lose my spot so I'd just be like: "Heh. Have fun!"

Orrrr maybe just make it like SD and one life is lost when you leave and rejoin?

Tell me when you have fun surviving two seconds from spawn because of drugging spawn killers

It happens. You should try it (spawn killing.. Sure, it isn't a nice way to play, but it isn't illegal, either. It's a war game, what do you expect?

I do it sometimes, but i hardly drug. I only drug when i am rewarded for my weeks of daily missions

On order to realise leave+rejoin, the servers have to store the player ID and it's score and stats anyways.
As there is some processing done, it could do one more thing:

 

 

Only if you dealed damage or damage was dealed to you since your respawn (only then !!)

  • then your leave counts as kill (its fair, continue reading)
  • in CTF, CP and TDM: the points are given out to the enemy team + 1 kill to their team + 1 death to you
  • in DM: the guy that has hit you last gets +1 kill, you get +1 death

 

This is fair because:

even if you do not plan to get back, you took your chance to harm the other team, or you sucked up damage by them = made them waste their shots. Same goes for DM.

 

The info about the last hit is there anyways.. it just has to be used to make a kill count.

What do you guys think about that?
