Changes in the battle creation system

My point in this subject about map diversity was that it was always available to everyone. Whether it is taken advantage of or not is up to each individual. If there were only 5 maps that existed, the game would become stagnant and people would get bored and leave, so having a plethora of maps to choose from is a good thing. Having said that, it has been expressed that map diversity never happened and people were playing the same old maps. Why...because people LIKE those maps and prefer to play them. There is a reason why there were multiple maps of Rio/Noise (for example) and they were for the most part full. If there wasn't an option to create different or new maps and HAD to play Rio or Noise, I could understand the uproar, but there were options to create lesser played maps. The only reasoning I can see is that different/new maps were being created but they would get no players or very few to play on them, so that's why this is such an issue.

 

Each individual having the option to create their own map diversity is a good thing. Forced map diversity is not, IMO.

I explained some reasons earlier in this thread why people didn't play on less-common, empty maps.  it is not because "nobody liked them".

 

Each individual having the option to create their own map diversity is a good thing. Forced map diversity is not, IMO.  This is where I will have to disagree. If diversity cannot be achieved any other way it is better forced. Sorry about that.

Of course, I understand. In the real world as well, people don't like being "told" what to do, even if the thing they are told to do is good. An example of this is Prohibition. This is human nature and in fact a good thing, for it leads to the creation of other creeds, ideas, and nations. But in my opinion, that doesn't change the fact that the update was good, and it doesn't matter whether people liked it or not.. ;)

It is pay to win at the higher ranks.  If you don't drug it's like using an m0 against m3s. You aren't helping your team and you can't do anything yourself. And while before non-buyers could profit from the 1500 drug kit, now they can't profit from the 100 supplies kit and even if they do, it's a ridiculously tiny margin.

 

That is why PRO battles exist, mainly.

Well I have heard the endgame sucks so but I am not there. My point is the possible added overhead of a Pro pass is does not convert the game from being a free game to a battle of the wallets. This is actually a very mild adjustment to Tanki's cost structure

What I criticize however is that you have changed the fundamental characteristics of the game, essentially creating a downgrade which is unacceptable. In order to retain the functionality of being able to create specific battles, with a set number of participants with a particular range of rank I now have to pay extra money. This is not an upgrade of the system, it's a downgrade and a considerable one. I don't like to be thrown into just any battle.

It may be OK to introduce this to non - paying free users, and it may well be easier for a new player to start off this way but to impose this downgrade on customers who have already paid an X amount of money to play the game in a certain given environment is unacceptable. If you wish to create an easy to use platform for new players that's fine, but having a rank of General I'm not really concerned about new players' problems of understanding how the game works. 

I just dropped in to see if anything had changed and I am disappointed to see that it hasn't. Just as Annihilator1685 has said, I handed over cash for 'game crystals' in order to improve the gaming experience, not to facilitate a continuance of a basic expectation that was implied when I accepted the terms of agreement.  A great deal has been said about the behaviour of users on these servers and how that affects the expereince of others, thus raising a smokescreen that threatens to envelope a more fundamental grievance.  We 'the customers' paid Tankionline, 'the company' for a particular gaming experience at the time of contracting to buy our crystals.  We were not given any indication that the aforementioned gaming expereince was about to change in a significant fashion.  This unexpected change of use post contract would seem to me to suggest what is commonly called a 'cooling-off period'.  I have not been able to locate any clause in the Tanki literature that gives 'the company' authority to make significant changes wihtout bringing this to the attention of 'customers' who are about to make cash purchases.  Perhaps others more observant than me have been able to locate this guidance?

Its not illegal because the crystals themselves dont devalue, only the equipment.

the reason people don't complain about sales is because they don't lose as many crystals, and therefore they can save up for other stuff more easily, which is why they dont complain about the sales.

Might be in reference to the following (I'm just spit-balling here)...

 

Devs make a change that negatively affects some tankers.

To offset this negative change tanker will be "forced" to purchase something else. example ... isida nerf. No longer can do DMs well. Now tanker needs to buy a different turret that will allow DM success.

 

Surprise... a sale announced shortly after. So this tanker now buys Hammer, and because of the sale - they don't need to spend as much on something they perhaps had not intended to buy. So in effect they "did not lose as many crystals". And so - do not complain about sales?

 

That's the best I could come up with...
